“Even the strongest fighter will leave openings after a few moves. The Shaman showed none. If anything, he only grew more assured as it went on.” Yan Hua stood like a carved figure, unable to move.

 

She wanted to say something. Her body refused to cooperate. Her eyes were still wide, still processing the aftershock.

 

“Shaman, how did you do it? It seems like you never really train.” Sha Lan finally could not hold it in any longer.

 

She was a Totem Warrior, but she also served as a Shaman Priestess at the Yong’an Building, and she knew Su Bai’s daily habits better than most. There were many things she did not know or understand. But training was the one area she had the clearest picture of.

 

She had never once seen Su Bai train for battle. And yet what he had just demonstrated was not the kind of thing a person could show without training. Not for a year or two at minimum.

 

“I train every day. My method is just different from yours.” Su Bai gave a small grin.

 

He was not about to tell them that his daily training was simply his Physique growing on its own, without him having to do a thing.

“That does not quite add up, Shaman. You have never practised combat techniques. But what you showed just now did not look like someone without training. It looked like years of it.” Yan Hua shook her head slowly, then continued, “When you first came to our Tribe, I remember you were quite thin and weak. You are a completely different person now.”

 

Others might not have remembered so clearly. But Yan Hua remembered it perfectly.

 

Su Bai who had slept in her Teepee, who had come along to the Spotted Deer Tribe, that person and the one standing before her now were nothing alike.

 

“Each person trains differently. You are Totem Warriors. I am the Tribe’s Shaman. Naturally my methods would differ from yours.” Su Bai answered easily.

What had truly shaken Yan Hua and the others was his raw display of strength. A large pack of wolves had been dealt with in moments. More importantly, the wolf king had been Tamed. That last part was what truly defied belief.

 

“I see. Alright.” Yan Hua breathed out slowly and let the shock settle. She had to let it go somewhere.

 

“Shaman, so the wolf pack belongs to the Flame Dragon Tribe now?” Sha Lan asked.

 

She was still astonished, but it was the kind of astonishment that had settled into place. The Shaman was genuinely powerful. She had known, just had not known how powerful.

 

Now, she knew. He was powerful enough to face a group of Ferocious Beasts alone, and make it look effortless.

 

“The wolf king now listens to us. The rest of the pack does not yet. I still can cast Taming once. I want to see if there is another Ferocious Beast nearby worth using it on.”

 

Su Bai glanced back at the Fury Wolf pack running alongside them and continued, “Still, the wolves are a highly emotional species. They follow their king without any opposition. So for now, there is no need to cast any Shaman Technique on the rest of them.”

 

He had learnt the wolf king’s name the moment it was tamed. This species was called the Fury Wolf.

 

A Collectivistic type of Ferocious Beast, bearing a strong resemblance to the Two Tailed Wolf, though somewhat larger and with considerably greater lethality.

 

If the Two Tailed Wolf was a dog, the Fury Wolf was a Tibetan Mastiff.

 

“It happened so fast. I did not expect them to become our Tribe’s Ferocious Beasts this quickly.” Yan Hua watched the wolves running steadily below.

 

The Giant Shell Land Tortoise was moving at a solid pace. The name and the reality did not match at all.

“True. We planned for about ten days out here, expecting to head back around the snow season. I did not think we would be turning round this early.” Sha Lan shook her head in disbelief as well.

 

That was the reason they had asked Yan Jiao to stop by the Yong’an Building before they left, to keep a proper eye on the Tribe while they were away. A longer absence just invited trouble from other Tribes.

 

As it turned out, they were cutting the planned duration in half. The main reason was simply that Su Bai Tamed Ferocious Beasts at a pace nobody had accounted for.

 

“We are not done yet. Our logistics team needs more than this. How else are we going to transport goods to all the different Tribes?” Su Bai laughed openly.

 

He had not expected things to move this quickly either. Fast was good, but the current numbers still fell short of what he had in mind.
