Like dust in the wind, the news of the Life Spirits from Ancient Mystic Mountains barging into the Lin Family Manor only to be disgraced at the doorstep quickly spread across Middle State, which then became the topic of lunchtime discussion of many cultivators anywhere in Middle State. Although the cultivators weren’t exactly informed of the details of what caused the Life Spirits to miserably run away from the Lin Family Manor, one thing they were sure of was that the Life Spirits were nothing compared to Gu Changge.

After all, the mysterious Prince Gu was too intimidating to make a foe out of. Besides, the young woman in purple, who claimed to be Ye Chen’s cousin, too, drew the attention of numerous cultivators. Some even said that she was as daunting as Gu Changge, trumping the forces in Ancient Mysterious Mountains.

Though, not many bought the idea, especially with how the bystanding cultivators outside the Lin Family Manor watched as the young woman in purple left the manor with a hideous, disappointed face. Obviously, she must have had a hard time in the manor.

Cultivators also inferred that the young woman in purple came from the Beyond, and many more approved such a theory. And so, various news scattered across Middle State and caused remarkable commotion.

In a flash, three days had passed, and the Great Conference in Moonward Metropolis was finally about to commence. Multitudinous influential figures of holy lands and empires came to witness it, making Moonward Metropolis incomparably lively. Innumerable cultivators came with the motive to get to know Gu Changge during the Great Conference, only to be slapped with disappointment.

Some of the disciples of the Lin Family also participated in the Great Conference, but Gu Changge was nowhere to be seen, even on the prime seats reserved for the leaders of various lands. As such, cultivators were disaffected as they came all the way to see the celebrated young master but were not given the opportunity to. Understandably, they were not even qualified to pay him a visit in the Lin Family Manor.

Clearly, Gu Changge hadn’t the slightest interest in the Great Conference. As a matter of fact, he, together with Ming Lao, had already left Moonward Metropolis and was headed to the border between the Central Sky Domain and Crossroad of Eight Domains. Since he could sense Ye Chen’s aura in that direction, the entrance to Ancient Sky Domain was indubitably in the vicinity, and it was a matter of days until the domain actually be activated.

In a small town at the border of the Central Sky Domain, dense mountains and towering ancient woods made the town seem grand. The town was considered an abandoned area as rarely a soul could be seen on a normal day. However, numerous cultivators and Life Spirits of different races could be seen traveling on an Arcane Bridge in the sky. Some of them were riding beasts while the others were rising with their magical weapons; there were quite a number of them patrolling in the skies.

“Some time ago, there was some sort of heavenly light here that beaconed through the sky while its glow gracefully illuminated its surroundings. Forces and cultivators noticed its existence and claimed it to be a spawning of some godly artifact. So that’s why they’re all here today.”

An ordinary looking young man with a pair of resolute eyes walked across the town eavesdropping on the conversations of nearby cultivators as he seemed to be muttering to himself.

“It seems the entrance to the domain recorded in the torn ancient page is about to be opened. I’ve been gathering the pieces of the map. Ancient Sky Domain is filled with countless mechanisms, yet I’m still able to walk as usual. Huh, I’ve even obtained the key the Ancient Sky Perfect Prodigy left behind. By the time the domain is activated, these hindering cultivators won’t be able to stop me as there’s no way they could locate the core of the domain.”

The young man appeared as if he was talking to himself, though he was, in fact, speaking to his Master in his ring. Needless to say, the young man was none other than Ye Chen himself.

Recently, he had been gathering the torn pieces of the map while pushing his power level, and thanks to the numerous miracles he encountered, he successfully broke through to Peak Transcendent Realm. In merely a span of a few months, he achieved Peak Transcendent Realm from Advanced Spiritual Palace Realm, and he was very close to breaking through to Mighty-Transcendent Realm. His unbelievably speedy progress was surely to stupefy any cultivators given how astonishing it was, and ‘extraordinary’ might even be understating his achievement.

Of course, if Gu Changge were to know about this, he wouldn’t at all be surprised. Essentially, such suspicious speed was only normal for a Fortuitous One. Yet, Ye Chen wasn’t satisfied. He thought his progress was still too slow. Despite his many miraculous encounters, it was still hard for him to diminish the strength difference between him and Gu Changge.

[Only by obtaining the legacy in Ancient Sky Domain will I be able to take my revenge on Gu Changge… And that whore Su Qingge…] Bearing that in mind, Ye Chen started to get enraged.

After some time of contemplation, he eventually acknowledged Gu Changge’s might, which was nothing he could best as of right now. Every single time, he was able to fight and overcome the foes he had faced in spite of their immense strength or their overwhelming backgrounds. Thus, he assumed the same thing would happen as Destiny awaited him in Ancient Sky Domain.

Meanwhile, Yan Ji was sitting in the space in his ring with an completely helpless look. She remained wordless upon his words. She stared into space with her glassy, crimson eyes while shaking her legs—a posture that wasn’t supposed to belong to Ye Chen’s Master.

All this time, she had observed Ye Chen’s swift progress; not even the disciples of cults in the Beyond could achieve such a speed. Thereupon, she sank into contemplation.

Prior to that, she thought that no way in the world would Ye Chen be able to take his revenge against Gu Changge even after attaining the legacy in Ancient Sky Domain. Back in her peak, although she hadn’t earned the title of Perfect Prodigy, she was certainly close to achieving it.

Gu Changge, on the other hand, as a young man, was able to hand out a Mind Convergence Pill, and that indicated that his background was formidable, and his family must have a great number of Perfect Prodigy. Hence, she grew weary of attempting to get Ye Chen to drop his vengeance and be detested by him. After all, be it power level or background, Ye Chen was definitely out of Gu Changge’s league, and it was impossible for him to succeed in taking revenge.

Nevertheless, Yan Ji now had a change of mind. Given Ye Chen’s cultivation speed, he might just create a wonder. For some reason, she started to worry about Gu Changge. It could be because she consumed his Mind Convergence Pill, or perhaps she was deeply moved by his earnesty back in the underground prison.

Undoubtedly, back then, Gu Changge could have swiftly slaughtered Ye Chen and seized his ring without considering her willingness, but he did none of those things.

She was rather fond of Gu Changge, who was destined for great things, but right now, she couldn’t help being perturbed by a dilemma. After descending to the Overworld as a Cursed Spirit and trapped in a ring that was later discovered by Ye Chen, she was awakened by his years of accumulation of spiritual energy. Otherwise, none could tell for how long she would remain in slumber.

Yet, because of that, she somehow turned Ye Chen from a somewhat popular genius to a good-for-nothing rascal, and even caused his divorce, which caused him to be a laughing stock of everyone. She felt guilty. Therefore, she had decided to mentor and guide him to bring him back to the path of decency. Sadly, Ye Chen’s performance some time ago led her to disconcertment after he failed to distinguish good from bad as he was manipulated by his overwhelming jealousy to the extent where he even grew skeptical of her, thinking that she might turn on her for Gu Changge. Nonetheless, if that were the case, she wouldn’t have stayed by his side and overseen his training.

Comparing Gu Changge with Ye Chen, the former unquestionably triumphed over the latter in all aspects. However, she decided to firmly pledge her commitment—to repay Ye Chen for her awakening. Alas, Ye Chen wasn’t just inconsiderate and even suspected that her actions were only out of sympathy for him. Thus, Yan Ji felt disheartened and helpless at the same time, aware of the fracture in the bond between her and her disciple. Notwithstanding, the problem wasn’t her, but Ye Chen.
