The ancient hall was solemn and magnificent. The interior was boundless as though it was a Great Universe. The thick Mist of Chaos permeated every corner of this space.
The Grand Priestess was still covered in the black mist. Her face and figure could not be seen. She stepped into the hall and ascended the floating staircase to walk towards the deepest area.
On both sides of the platform stood massive pillars made from all sorts of Primordial Source Metals. They propped up the entire temple. The hall was spacious and quiet.
Only the sounds of the Grand Priestess ascending the staircase could be heard.
On the highest part of the hall was the blood altar, which had manifested itself earlier. It hovered in the void and was surrounded by the thick Mist of Chaos.
The ancient item was silent at this moment, with some of its redness having faded.
Meanwhile, the World Burying Coffin which radiated a blood light hovered silently above. Thick Dark Concentrate spurted from the gap as though a dam had burst. It washed through the Grand Priestess and blew away the black mist around her.
She was clad in a black robe that covered her entire figure. She was tall and slender. Since she was wearing a hood, her face could not be seen clearly.
“Are you calling out to me? Can I hear your voice again…” The Grand Priestess walked up the stairs and reached the end where the blood altar was located.
An immense pressure that could make the void collapse descended upon her, but it could not stop her from moving forward.
The World Burying Coffin was a First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasure that sealed the body of the Master of the Heaven’s Proxy Group. Even a tiny bit of its aura could turn anyone who tried to approach the coffin into dust.
However, an invisible force formed around her that offset all the pressure.
“Are you about to return? I’ve been waiting for you.”
The Grand Priestess withstood the horrifying pressure coming from the coffin and slowly approached it. Then, she sat down beside the coffin and leaned her head against it despite the Dark Concentrate washing over her.
A moment later, she extended her fair and perfect hands from her sleeves. Her skin was so thin that her veins could be clearly seen.
She placed her hands on the coffin and pressed her head against it. It was as though she could hear the heartbeat coming from the coffin with her ears.
The violent Dark Concentrate flushed through her like waves. Nevertheless, the Grand Priestess remained unmoving and piously listened to the sounds coming from the coffin.
Only the sound of Dark Concentrate coursing through the spacious hall could be heard. She remained in the same position. It was as though she could really hear the familiar voice speaking to her.
A long time later, the anomaly from the World Burying Coffin finally stopped. The Dark Concentrate coming from the coffin became thinner. It turned from an ocean into a stream. Eventually, it became a black mist that hovered in the air.
“I understand. I’ll keep waiting until the day we reunite. I believe it won’t be long before that happens…”
Grand Priestess Wu Yue, who had been staying by the World Burying Coffin’s side for a long time, finally rose to her feet. She was covered in a thick black mist again.
After she got up, the black mist dissipated as she left the place in an instant. When she reappeared, she was already outside Heaven’s Proxy Group Temple.
The Priests and High Priests had gathered in front of the mountain range. There were countless people behind them. They knelt silently there with solemn expressions.
Grand Priestess Wu Yue swept a glance over all the living beings in the Nightmare Demon Realm and said emotionlessly, “I’ve heard Master’s voice. He’s about to return and darkness will engulf this land again. The name of the Heaven’s Proxy Group will be heard across the entire Boundless Expanse. The Grand Ceremony will start today.”
After a moment of dead silence, the sounds of fervour and cheerfulness were heard reverberating across the Nightmare Demon Realm. When these living beings came to their senses, they were thrilled.
They had been hiding for countless years, and the day they had been waiting for finally came.
Darkness was the eternal colour of the Boundless Expanse. Eternal darkness would come and all the light would be annihilated.
The name of the Heaven’s Proxy Group would intimidate all across the Boundless Expanse just like in the past. They would be the true rulers of the Boundless Expanse.
“What?”
Unlike the others, low ranking living beings, the High Priests and Priests were shocked upon hearing Grand Priestess Wu Yue’s words. They found it inconceivable.
Some even suspected that they had misheard her.
They wondered if the Grand Priestess was pulling their leg by initiating the Grand Ceremony at this point.
Those from the Heaven Legion had been hiding for countless years. There was still a long way to go before they could revive the Heaven’s Proxy Group, and little had been prepared. It was ridiculous and inconceivable that she had decided to initiate the Grand Ceremony just like this.
The anomaly with the World Burying Coffin was indeed strange, but it was nothing compared to the fact that Grand Priestess Wu Yue suddenly ordered that the Grand Ceremony was to commence.
They found it unfathomable, questioning if she was out of her mind?
“Grand Priestess Wu Yue, we’re not fully prepared. We haven’t even gathered all the First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasures. How are we supposed to initiate the Grand Ceremony and welcome Master’s return?”
“If we can’t destroy the Land of Darkness Origin where Master’s Will is sealed, it’s pointless for us to start the Grand Ceremony.”
“Even if we can’t gather all the First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasures before the Grand Ceremony begins, we have to destroy them. They must not exist in the Boundless Expanse because they are the only things that can pose a threat to Master.”
“Moreover, even though we have sufficient strength, something unexpected might happen if we reveal ourselves too soon.”
“We hope you’ll reconsider your decision, Grand Priestess Wu Yue. This is an important matter. If anything goes wrong, the efforts we’ve put into reviving the Heaven’s Proxy Group will go down the drain.”
These High Priests were the most important figures of the Heaven Legion. They usually would not dare to refute the Grand Priestess due to her authority. Nevertheless, they had no choice but to dissuade her from doing this. They would take on a huge risk if they recklessly initiated the Grand Ceremony.
A person wearing a white robe and a white face mask directly refuted her by saying, “Grand Priestess Wu Yue, we understand that you’ve always hoped for Master to come back, but you can’t destroy the efforts we’ve put into achieving our goal like this. It’s inappropriate to initiate the Grand Ceremony at this point. It’ll bring endless trouble to ourselves. At the very least, we have to break the seal in the Land of Darkness Origin or find those First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasures first…”
Grand Priestess Wu Yue’s identity was special. It could be said that she was irreplaceable in the Heaven Legion.
In the past, her authority was as great as that of the Master of the Heaven’s Proxy Group. That was because she had been by the Master’s side for the longest time.
Given her experience, no one in the Heaven Legion was comparable to her.
While the Priests and High Priests were shocked, they could not help but object to the Grand Priestess’ decision even if it meant crossing her.
Several High Priests even felt that she was out of her mind. She was too eager to see the Master of the Heaven’s Proxy Group again and did not care about the consequences.
Many of them knew it was not the right time to initiate the Grand Ceremony.
Once that happened, it meant that the remnants of Heaven’s Proxy Group, also known as the remnants of the Black Disaster to the others, would make a comeback and bring the Black Disaster back to the Boundless Expanse.
Regardless of how well-prepared they were, they would face the most terrifying resistance.
Irrespective of how powerful those from the Heaven Legion were, they were still far weaker than when their Master was still present. How were they supposed to initiate the Grand Ceremony and go against the entire Boundless Expanse?
“We’re indeed not powerful enough to initiate the Grand Ceremony, but that no longer matters. I’ve heard Master’s voice. The Grand Ceremony is meant to welcome him back.”
Grand Priestess Wu Yue stood in front of the Heaven’s Proxy Group Temple. She looked calmly at the shocked Priests and High Priests who refuted her. There was no emotion in her voice as she remained calm and collected.
She knew what was on the minds of some High Priests, but she did not point it out. She did not care the least bit about what they thought.
It was not peaceful among those of the Heaven Legion. However, to ensure the success of the Grand Ceremony, she pretended to not know anything.
After they were no longer useful, she would settle the score with those who were not loyal to her Master.
She knew that those High Priests must have felt the horrifying Will that had awakened.
They could not hear Master’s voice because they were no longer loyal and pious.
The expressions of those Priests and High Priests changed drastically. Grand Priestess Wu Yue seemed determined, so there was no room for negotiation.
Indeed, those from the Heaven Legion had been hiding in the Nightmare Demon Realm for far too long. Many of their people could no longer contain their urge to return to the Boundless Expanse.
Since the Grand Priestess had given the order, they could not stop it.
The sounds of horns soon reverberated across the Nightmare Demon Realm. Many Spacetimes trembled. Bolts of lightning that were as dark as ink flashed through Heaven and Earth, shattering universes and Spacetimes.
The Nightmare Demon Realm had been dormant for countless years. Tranquillity had been shattered. Unlike in the past, it was an upheaval that would spread across countless Spacetimes.
Dark beings in the Nightmare Demon Realm were roused.
In those graveyards and Forbidden Lands that were full of the Aura of Darkness, horrifying eyes opened all of a sudden. They seemed to have been dormant for countless years. After they awakened to the sounds of horns, they left their dwellings.
They were enormous and their figures were surrounded by specks of dark lights.
The sounds spread from the depths of the Nightmare Demon Realm across different worlds like ripples. They carried an incredible force which penetrated Spacetimes of the present and the past.
Every time the sounds spread, countless beings would awaken like waves. Some ancient beings regained consciousness in the depths of darkness and growled at Heaven and Earth.
The world was split and massive portals opened up. The immense Aura of Darkness shot forward and destroyed the universes in the distance.
Massive dark hands appeared and easily crushed the stars into pieces.
“This day has finally come…”
It sounded like the Ancestral Demon was growling. After countless years, the Nightmare Demon Realm welcomed its most important moment.
The sounds of horns were still heard. The Nightmare Demon Realm seemed to have awakened from a long sleep. Thick Dark Concentrate oozed out of the chasms. A black mist spread towards the Boundless Expanse like a sandstorm.
At this moment, many people from countless Civilisations and True Worlds were astounded. They felt a malicious intent descending upon them. It was as though a pair of vicious eyes were watching them from afar.
All of them from different worlds were terrified.
The Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty was akin to an Immortal Kingdom with strength as great as those of Supreme Civilisations.
There were some stargazing platforms in the Dynasty. The sky was dark and full of stars. An old man wearing white clothes was making a deduction using a compass. Around him were many beings who radiated a sacred glow. There came in all shapes and sizes, some were not even Human. There were even deities with divine rings behind them.
At this moment, all of them were looking at the old man, waiting for the result of his deduction.
Suddenly, the old man shuddered and sprayed out a mouthful of blood. His initially clear eyes turned turbid. Blood started streaming out of his eyes, which was a terrifying sight.
The compass in his hands was now full of cracks and a black mist exuded from it.
“How is it, Master Xing Ming?” All of them were shocked upon seeing that. They quickly supported the old man’s weight while looking worried.
“It’s a terrible sign. I could see endless black mist streaming towards the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. A calamity is coming. Darkness will drown the Boundless Expanse again. The Black Disaster is going to make a comeback…” The old man said in a shaky voice.
He straightened up with difficulty with others’ help. The moment he finished speaking, the compass in his hands broke apart and turned into dust.
The next moment, he collapsed to the ground. It was a wonder whether he was dead or alive.
The people around him were flabbergasted upon hearing that. They found it inconceivable. Master Xing Ming came from a special place, and he had assisted the Main Happiness Emperor, countless times. As such, it was shocking that he had said such a thing.
“Did the Will which had swept across the entire Boundless Expanse truly have something to do with the Master of the Black Disaster?” A deity said fearfully. When he thought of something, he was terrified and the divine ring behind him trembled.
“Bring Master Xing Ming back to his room! I can feel that a thick Aura of Darkness has awakened in a distant realm. The remnants of the Black Disaster must’ve gotten agitated because of the appearance of that Will. They might even make a comeback. They’ve been hiding for a long time, so they surely can no longer contain their urge…”
A burly man clad in steel armour nodded. He looked at the Boundless Sea of Stars with an icy gaze. His voice was serious.
