The figure seemed less than twenty years old. She was thin, frail, and unassuming.

She did not even reach her opponent’s shoulders. Her hair and eyes were greyish.

Her hair shrouded her features, but her eyes were as cold as ice and completely emotionless.

Even though the figure’s opponent could not be considered burly, he was terrifyingly imposing nonetheless.

He was battered and bruised. His arms were covered in green scales, and he had vertical pupils that glittered coldly with bloodlust. He also had a thorny horn on his forehead.

Clearly, he had the blood of a Foreign Race. Though, in his Human Form, not every single characteristic of that Race was shown.

When he slammed his fists together, the thunderous sound that rang out seemed to shake the void. There was a clear difference in Physique between the two opponents in the arena.

Many spectators could not resist rising to their feet and staring unblinkingly in excitement.

Few paid attention to the other fights happening.

Even though it was just as intense, it drew far less attention in comparison.

Soon, a brutal fight broke out over here. Blood was shed as the two attacked each other.

The crushing sound of cracking bones accompanied the scraps of ivory white bone. The spectators’ emotions were ignited along with the bloodshed. Even their blood started rushing.

The middle-aged man who served as the host was also excited. He did not forget to introduce the two fighters.

The taller one was a deathsworn trained by the Ten Thousand Clan Arena. After surviving countless deadly fights, he was incredibly experienced in them. He managed to overpower his opponent every single time and mercilessly slaughtered them.

Those who frequented the Ten Thousand Clan Arena would be familiar with him.

On the other hand, the smaller silhouette had a fairly average record. An arena in a different ancient city had sent her over.

She had also survived a hundred deadly fights and managed to kill all her opponents, but she did not manage to overpower them the same way her current opponent did.

Furthermore, after being sent to Breeze Ancient City, she had not participated in any deadly fights yet.

Even the host did not know just how powerful she was.

“She truly is born for the path of carnage.” Inside the pavilion, Gu Changge set down his cup. His gaze fell on the arena.

When he focused on that slender silhouette with grey hair and eyes, a few thoughts occurred to him.

He had noticed the figure even before the fight had started.

An almost innate murderous will had emerged from her fate. It was on the verge of becoming Principles of Carnage and surrounding her.

To achieve such a feat without proper guidance and cultivation meant that it was her talent. In short, she was just perfect for this Dao.

“Who do you speak of, Young Master Gu?” Elder Zhuo Ju asked curiously when he heard the remark.

Even though he was someone equivalent to a Dao Realm Expert, he was not well-versed in the study of fate and destiny. Despite observing closely, he could not see anything unusual.

    Gu Changge chuckled without responding.

Destiny was just as mysterious as Fortuity. The Immortal Spirit Civilisation was only proficient in using all kinds of methods to hone their cultivation. When it came to the art of divination and deduction, they paled in comparison to Immortal Dao Civilisations.

If a Dao Realm expert from the Immortal Dao Civilisation tried to divine this girl’s fate, they would be able to sense what was unusual about her too.

Zhuo Ju looked a little awkward, but he did not press the subject. He turned his eyes onto the arena once more.

“Grey hair and eyes?” Meanwhile, in a different pavilion, Wang He also noticed the battle in the arena.

He was shocked as he fixed his gaze on the slender, grey-haired figure. He seemed uncertain.

[How could such a coincidence occur? If what was said about their lives and origins are true, then the figure is most likely… the root of the Ten Thousand Clan Arena’s disaster in the future.]

[On that day, a River of Carnage will sweep across Ten Thousand Clan Arena. Countless lives will be devoured, and the figure with grey eyes will stand in the middle like the deity of death who has descended to slaughter the living.]

Wang He murmured to himself as he carefully studied the lean figure.

To him, this was unimportant because it would not affect him.

Previously, Wang He considered informing the Venerable Hong Gui about it so that she could prepare in advance.

However, if that silhouette with grey hair and eyes was indeed the one who would cause the future disaster of the Ten Thousand Clan Arena, he was going to have to do something.

If he had not encountered the figure, he would not have wasted his time trying to come up with a plan.

He had something else more important to do right now.

Still, since he had run into the figure by coincidence, there was no reason for him to not make the most of it. After all, that was the future Goddess of Carnage.

“What’s the matter, Wang He?” Hong Gui asked after noticing the look on Wang He’s face.

Wang He’s expression returned to normal. He shook his head slightly and said, “It’s nothing. I was simply reminded of something when I saw the fight below.”

Naturally, Hong Gui did not believe Wang He’s excuse. She knew a thing or two about his schemes and ploys.

“Oh. I see.” She chuckled and looked down without exposing him.

Wang He stared at the brutal fight between the figure with grey hair and eyes and his opponent before calmly looking over at the other arena.

He sighed, “I’m surprised by your generosity, Senior Hong Gui. In terms of talent for cultivation, these two fighters aren’t any less than the Successors of Major Forces. But now, they are engaged in a deadly fight here to entertain the audience.”

Hong Gui could vaguely guess Wang He’s intentions. She smiled and said, “Young prodigies like them are precious to my Ten Thousand Clan Arena. If not for the special circumstances, I would be reluctant, too. Could it be that you’re interested in the two young prodigies below?”

She knew that Wang He had established the Scavenger Sect.

Though it was on the rise and growing exceedingly quickly lately, in terms of legacy, it could not compete against the Forces that had been around for eons, if not more. Therefore, Wang He was undoubtedly thinking of ways to build up his Sect’s foundation and power.

He searched everywhere for talented cultivators and experts who could join the Scavenger Sect.

Hong Gui guessed that Wang He could be interested in taking in these two fighters out of appreciation for their talents.

The Ten Thousand Clan Arena trained these young prodigies for the sake of their own benefits, of course. As long as Wang He named a fair price, Hong Gui would readily acquiesce and allow him to take them away.

By doing so, Wang He would also owe her a favour.

Wang He no longer hid his desire. He came right out and said, “Truth be told, I do feel that it is a waste. If they were a part of my Scavenger Sect and nurtured properly, they would certainly achieve greatness. It would be much better than having them engage in deadly fights for the sake of entertainment.”

“I’ve searched high and low for the right disciples. Despite the many challenges I faced, I couldn’t find anyone suitable. Yet, here I see two of them in your arena.” He was smart enough to say he wanted both instead of just one. That way, it was unlikely to arouse Hong Gui’s suspicion.

Just as Wang He thought, Hong Gui did not think much of it.

With a smile on her face, she said, “If you wish, you can take them with you, but you’ll have to wait until the fight is over. That being said, I’m sure you’re aware of the rules of the Ten Thousand Clan Arena. In the past, I have never agreed to sell any of the young prodigies under us, even though other Forces have approached me before. Even though we have some ties…”

Wang He knew this meant that a deal could be struck. He smiled and interrupted, “Rest assured. You won’t suffer any losses, Senior Hong Gui. You know me. You need not be concerned about this.”

    Hong Gui was satisfied.

She mainly cared about the fact that Wang He had reached the Quasi-Dao Realm at such a young age. He was bound to keep soaring higher in the future.

If he wanted those two young prodigies, there was no harm in giving them to him. He would also owe her a favour.

She would not be losing out at all in this transaction.

Right now, they were both in a good mood. Wang He was certain nothing could go wrong. All he had to do was wait until the fight was over.

He had total faith in the figure with grey hair and eyes. Even though it seemed like the figure was at a disadvantage in the fight right now, how could she have exacted vengeance on Ten Thousand Clan Arena if she could not even win this fight?

Soon, the fight in the other arena came to a close.

After the brutal fight, one was dead and the other severely injured.

The severely injured figure was barely alive. His wounds were terrifying as he had won the deadly fight by a very slim margin.

The host quickly summoned people over to take the fighter away and tend to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the spectators were exclaiming in excitement over the highlights of the deadly fight.

All of a sudden, the main fight came to an end as well.

Many did not even see what had happened. All they saw was the slightly larger silhouette clutching his neck in disbelief as blood gushed out.

The smaller silhouette stood to the side as she icily watched the blood rained down.

“What…” Hong Gui was startled. She did not expect such a startling twist.

Ordinarily, an injury like this did not mean much to a True Immortal. Blood and limbs could easily be mended and replenished if needed.

However, the small figure’s opponent’s Life Force had died out in that instant.

It was as if his life had been reduced to dust and scattered in the wind.

Hong Gui had not been paying close attention earlier. If she wanted to see what had happened, she needed to replay the earlier scene.

[As expected of the future Goddess of Carnage. I was right.] Wang He’s eyes gleamed with excitement.

What the figure had used to kill her opponent was precisely the solidified form of the Will of Carnage. In an instant, it extracted the Life Force from her opponent.

“What an unexpected fight.” The situation finally dawned on Hong Gui. She eyed Wang He with a complicated expression. [Had he seen this coming? That would explain why he said they were young prodgies worthy of nurture and is so keen to take them away.]

In Hong Gui’s eyes, Wang He became even more enigmatic.

Wang He was smiling. Just as he was about to speak to Hong Gui, the sound of urgent footsteps approached the pavilion.

Hong Gui’s maidservant rushed over and whispered into the ear of a confused-looking Hong Gui.

“What did you say?” Upon hearing what the maidservant reported, Hong Gui’s expression morphed into one of disbelief.

To verify the truth of what she had been told, she solemnly questioned the maidservant.

“Are you telling me the truth?”

“I wouldn’t dare lie to you, Mistress. Elder Zhuo Ju sent someone over to inform us of this.” The maidservant respectfully responded.

Upon hearing the confirmation, Hong Gui exhaled. She thought of something and began to smile.

“If that’s true, it’s a good thing for me. Perhaps, I might even get the chance to establish a connection with that mysterious Master…” She mumbled to herself, looking thrilled.

When the maidservant came rushing in, Wang He got a nagging feeling.

After hearing Hong Gui’s comment, his heart skipped a beat.

“What happened, Senior Hong Gui? What made you say something like that?” Feeling uncertain, Wang He probed.

Instantly, Hong Gui snapped out of her reverie and regained her composure.

However, she could not hide the joy in her expression.

She explained, “Elder Zhuo Ju had sent someone to inform me that the mysterious, white-robed Master is keen on taking away the one who won the fight just now.”

“What!?” Wang He’s expression became dark. Even though he tried to rein in his disbelief, his tone changed.

He never thought someone would emerge at a time like this to compete against him for her. Furthermore, it just had to be that mysterious being of unknown origins.

Hong Gui did not think much of it. She directly said, “I’m truly sorry. Since he has said he wishes to take the young prodigy with him, I will have to renege on our agreement. I hope you won’t mind. But, if the Master doesn’t want the other one, you can go ahead and take him. For the deathsworn that lost, you won’t need to pay…”

Hong Gui had a wide smile on her face. Once she finished speaking, she did not even wait for Wang He’s response before she disappeared from the site.

She seemed eager to rush over right away.

Alone in the pavilion, Wang He’s expression became unpleasant. He looked like he had been fooled and was humiliated.

He and Hong Gui had agreed earlier, but she abruptly went back on her word. Furthermore, what she said at the end made him feel humiliated.

Wang He only wanted the woman with grey hair and eyes. He was uninterested in the other guy.

“What’s the matter, Sect Master?” Once Hong Gui left, the Elders and disciples of the Scavenger Sect entered the pavilion.

When they noticed the expression on Wang He’s face, they could not help but check on him.

Wang He could only take a deep breath to stamp down the indignation he felt at something that was his being stolen away from him. He forced out a smile and waved his hand. “It’s nothing. I just felt a bit uncomfortable.”
