A large area of Chen Jinhan’s body started rotting. She had no choice but to ask Grandma Tong to cover her entire figure in bandages. She looked like a mummy, and her originally beautiful long hair started withering and falling off.

Grandma Tong sighed, knowing that Chen Jinhan’s Life Force was getting weaker by the day. She had no idea what was going on. Chen Jinhan prayed sincerely every day without fail. However, the almighty Heavenslayers Alliance Leader did not seem to hear her prayers, never giving her a response.

This was something Grandma Tong could not understand.

“Is it because I’m not pious enough?” Chen Jinhan smiled bitterly. She knew that she was not truly pious. She only prayed in the temple to get revenge. There was an ulterior motive. Perhaps the reason the almighty Heavenslayers Alliance Leader did not give her any response was to punish her for not being devout enough.

Chen Jinhan could feel that her Life Force was slowly leaving her every day. Her days were numbered.

Miasma, poisonous insects, and Yin Energy were relentlessly gnawing at her last bit of Life Force.

“I can’t save you anymore. Only the almighty Heavenslayers Alliance Leader can save you now…” Grandma Tong told her after a sigh.

As time passed, half a month went by just like this. Chen Jinhan could feel that her end was about to come.

It was a night full of desolateness. The wind came howling from a distance as though someone was weeping.

The place was void of people. Under the icy Moonlight, Chen Jinhan headed to the temple with Grandma Tong’s help just as usual. She knelt in front of the statue without a face and prayed.

It was a quiet night. She was the only one in the temple as Grandma Tong had quietly left the place.

“Why… Why would my Sister do that to me? Why don’t I even have a chance to get my revenge? I’m not resigned to my fate. Almighty Heavenslayers Alliance Leader, if you can hear me, please give me a response. I’m willing to sacrifice everything. I am willing to give you my Soul and life for all of eternity. I beg you to let me live, so that I can take my revenge.” Chen Jinhan muttered under her breath as she knelt and pressed her head against the floor.

She was starting to lose hope, for she had a feeling that she could not see the next sunrise. Perhaps this night was the last time she knelt and prayed in front of this statue without a face.

The faint scent of sandalwood permeated the temple, which was covered in smoke. However, the place was dead silence, with no one responding to her.

There was a bitter smile on her face as she had already expected it. [Still no response?]

Just as she was ready to give up all hope and resign to her fate, a dazzling silver glow suddenly appeared before her eyes.

The statue was radiating a glow. It was as though the statue was wearing a piece of silver armour. It was so bright and magnificent that she almost couldn’t open her eyes. There seemed to be a silver river that connected the world and the universe. A vague and splendid figure stood at the end of that light and looked calmly at her.

“I’ve come to answer your prayers.”

Chen Jinhan could hear a gentle but authoritative voice. It was as though the person was a deity in ancient legends. At that moment, she was so shocked that she could not utter a word. She opened her eyes with difficulty, finding everything inconceivable. She even suspected that she was having a hallucination. However, the silver glow sprinkled on her gave her warmth. She knew that it was not an illusion. It was truly happening.

“A-Are you the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader?” Chen Jinhan glanced at the figure before her eyes, but the person seemed vague and distant. He had truly appeared. He had heard her prayers and given her a response.

It was difficult for Chen Jinhan to put her feelings into words. Her despondence turned into hope, and she was hoisted from Hell to above the clouds.

“Can you help me? I want to get my revenge. I want to live!” Chen Jinhan used all her strength to speak as loudly as she could as though she had finally found a saviour.

The gentle but authoritative voice sounded as calm as ever. “I can.”

Despite his brief response, Chen Jinhan was agitated.

“But what can you give?” The figure at the end of the glow seemed to be scrutinising and examining her. His tone never changed at all.

“What can I give?” Chen Jinhan was startled for a moment before coming to her senses. She replied, “I can give you everything, including my Soul and my loyalty for all of eternity.”

She knew that the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader would not help her without getting anything in return. It would be unrealistic for her to believed that. There was no free lunch in this world.

However, the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader let out a snort upon hearing her words.

“Why would I need the Soul and loyalty of a Mortal?” His voice suddenly turned icy.

Chen Jinhan was rooted to the spot. She was only an insignificant Mortal. Her Soul and loyalty were useless to an inconceivable being like him.

After giving it some thought, Chen Jinhan decided she would not give up easily. She gritted her teeth and said, “I can bring you even more devout followers.”

“I have followers in many worlds, and there are billions of them. How many more followers can you bring me?” The originally gentle but authoritative voice turned indifferent. It carried no emotions at all.

Chen Jinhan’s face turned pale as she fell into a despairing state. She was only an ordinary Mortal who had nothing. What was more, she was dying.

“But…” Just then, the tone of the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader changed slightly.

This reignited Chen Jinhan’s fire of hope. She started fixedly at the figure, not daring to blink at all.

“I can lend you a helping hand this time, considering how pious you have been. From now on, everything you have will have belongs to me, including your future, your emotions, your memories, and your future lives. Even if you die and turn into ash, and all traces of you disappear from this world, you’ll still belong to me. Are you willing to accept it?” The voice of the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader still sounded emotionless. He was so indifferent as though he was reading out some kind of pact.

The fire of hope behind Chen Jinhan’s eyes brightened. She was destined to die in the first place. Since there was a chance for her to live, she naturally would not give it up.

Although it seemed like she would lose her freedom and everything she had from now on, she was willing to accept it as long as she could live and get her revenge.

“Yes.” Chen Jinhan said without hesitation. Her eyes were filled with determination.

As soon as she finished speaking, a silver light suddenly entered her body and turned into a seed, which started sprouting and growing in her body. All her pain and frailty vanished in an instant.

“Great.” Said the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. His voice was still as dispassionate as ever.

“I’ll grant you an Eternal Body. Your face will be restored, and you’ll have the Talent to combine miasma, poison gas and Yin Energy. Every time you die, you’ll become even stronger. However, from now on, you’ll not truly be living. You will be half dead and half alive.”

Chen Jinhan could feel the immense Life Force coursing through her body. The miasma, poison gas and Yin Energy, which were gnawing away at her Life Force, all turned into her strength.
