Chu Bai was just an Immortal King, yet he managed to overcome common sense and compete against three Quasi-Immortal Emperors on equal grounds. Naturally, it was only possible by relying on the power of this extraordinary Artifact.

Rumours about the Sun Shooting Bow’s existence naturally became more and more widespread in the Land of Celestial Suffering as a consequence. The Treasure also secretly attracted the envy and greed of many cultivators.

In the end, Chu Gucheng had to come forward in his capacity as the King and announce that the priceless Treasure already belonged to a virtuous owner. It had already acknowledged Chu Bai as its Master. If anybody else were to fight over the treasure, then he would not show mercy to them.

The fact that even the King, Chu Gucheng, had come forward to defend and protect Chu Bai was extremely shocking and astonishing to many cultivators in the Land of Celestial Suffering.

From another perspective, it could be said that Chu Gucheng did not show such favour to Chu Bai solely because Chu Bai was someone with great Fortuity. After all, there were quite many others comparable to him in the Land of Celestial Suffering. Only a few of them were actually eligible to be summoned by Chu Gucheng, much less receive his favour.

Although Chu Bai’s Talent was considered pretty good, he was significantly inferior compared to the other Fortunate People. Therefore, it could be seen that Chu Gucheng most likely showed such favour to Chu Bai because of the Sun Shooting Bow.

At this point, there was no doubt that the origins of the Sun Shooting Bow were extraordinary. Chu Gucheng’s actions were essentially to protect the bow and prevent others from coveting the bow for themselves.

Many cultivators in the outside world subsequently speculated that it was impossible for Chu Gucheng to be unfazed by the lure of such a Heaven Defying Artifact, but perhaps his status was preventing him from seizing the Treasure from Chu Bai.

In the beginning, Chu Bai was rather grateful towards Chu Gucheng. It was not until later that he gradually realised something was wrong. Chu Gucheng’s favour towards him had exceeded the level that his current cultivation and Talent deserved. Even the former Heavenly Divine General had never received such favour from Chu Gucheng. Comparatively, he was just an Immortal King. The Dao Realm was far beyond his reach, so what virtues did he have that could make Chu Gucheng shower him with such favour?

After deep consideration, he came to the conclusion that the most likely reason was the Sun Shooting Bow. If not for the fact that he had wisely brought out the Sun Shooting Bow and repelled the three Quasi-Immortal Emperors from the Beast Court in front of everybody, Chu Gucheng might have found a random reason to take the Sun Shooting Bow from him one day.

Chu Bai was reluctant to believe such a possibility at first.

As the King of the Land of Celestial Suffering, Chu Gucheng was said to have a broad mind and a humble heart. He could even be called a wise ruler. How many talented people had he recruited over the years? How many Fortunate People had willingly served under him?

Not to mention, he had not hesitated to shed all pretence of cordiality and start a war against the Beast Court for Chu Bai’s sake. Even his most beloved Youngest Son had perished in battle as a consequence of the ongoing war. It could be said that he had done everything he could for Chu Bai. At the very least, that was how it seemed to the public.

Just to side with one of the geniuses in the Land of Celestial Suffering, Chu Gucheng had not hesitated to confront the Beast Court. His actions even caused his own descendants to fall in battle. Under these circumstances, anybody would be extremely grateful to him. They would be willing to do anything to repay his kindness. That was also the case for Chu Bai at the beginning. He had been so grateful that he vowed to repay Chu Gucheng’s kindness in the future.

Unfortunately, everything that seemed amiss could be traced back to the day when the Artifact Spirit within the Sun Shooting Bow awakened.

After Chu Bai was acknowledged by the Sun Shooting Bow as its Master, he had always treasured the bow. Many Dao Realm Seniors had attempted to borrow the bow for observation on the pretext of curiosity, but he had always refused their requests. He even offended several Seniors in the Land of Celestial Suffering as a result.

In his opinion, he had encountered numerous opportunities and blessings throughout his life so far but only the Sun Shooting Bow was completely different.

On the day that the Sun Shooting Bow appeared, a brilliant seven-coloured ray of light burst forth and illuminated half the sky. The Ninth Crown Prince of the Beast Court, Di Wen, was the only other person to witness the phenomenon apart from him. However, the Sun Shooting Bow had chosen him as its Master out of the two of them. If this encounter was not destined, then what else could it be?

During this period, Chu Bai had been worried about the retaliation of the Beast Court. That was why he had been hiding in the Land of Celestial Suffering to cultivate. In addition, he constantly practised with the Sun Shooting Bow in hopes of establishing a deeper connection with the bow.

It was not until just a few days ago that he suddenly heard a strange voice coming from the Sun Shooting Bow. He also sensed an unusual vitality pulsing within the bow. It turned out that there was an Artifact Spirit inside the Sun Shooting Bow. The Artifact Spirit possessed tremendous wisdom and spirituality, just like a living creature born from nature and not a Spirit who was nurtured into life.

Chu Bai was naturally ecstatic about the fact that the Sun Shooting Bow contained an Innate Artifact Spirit, but he did not reveal the information to anybody. After all, he knew clearly what the existence of the Artifact Spirit meant.

Even the legendary Civilisation Supreme Treasure of the Primary Hope Civilisation, the Mirror of Reincarnation, did not contain an Artifact Spirit born innately, yet the Sun Shooting Bow in his possession contained an Innate Artifact Spirit.

Did this not mean the origin of the Sun Shooting Bow was even more impressive than a Civilisation Supreme Treasure?

Be that as it may, the Sun Shooting Bow’s Artifact Spirit seemed particularly arrogant and cold. At the beginning, she was rather standoffish towards Chu Bai’s questions and often pretended not to hear anything. She also bluntly stated that his cultivation was simply too low. Seeing as he was not even in the Dao Realm, he had no right to receive her attention, much less become her Master.

Chu Bai was not annoyed by her words. On the contrary, he was even more surprised. Those words undoubtedly indicated that the origins of the Sun Shooting Bow were far more amazing than he initially imagined.

In the following days, he was not discouraged even though she remained indifferent to him. Under his stubborn pestering, he finally became somewhat familiar with her and their relationship evolved into that of ‘friends’.

Based on the words of the Sun Shooting Bow’s Artifact Spirit, he had to survive at least four Tribulations and become a True Dao Realm expert to make her acknowledge him as her Master.

Chu Bai was shocked speechless when he first heard the statement. With his Talent, there was no saying how many more epochs it would take for him to reach the True Dao Realm. Moreover, it seemed as though the Artifact Spirit had initially wanted him to be in the Ancestral Dao Realm instead. She only changed her mind and modified her statement when she took into account that his current level of cultivation was too low.

Needless to say, he was extremely proud to have obtained such a Heaven-defying Artifact. Although he was a little discouraged at first, he quickly regained his confidence. So what if he had to reach the True Dao Realm? As long as he was given enough time, he would definitely surpass the current Chu Gucheng and become a Supreme Expert of the Primary Hope Civilisation.

After getting to know the Sun Shooting Bow’s Artifact Spirit, he unexpectedly learned a few things. He originally thought that the Sun Shooting Bow was a Primal Artifact born from Chaos. It never occurred to him that the Sun Shooting Bow might have been forged by Human hands.

According to the Sun Shooting Bow’s Artifact Spirit, the person who created the Sun Shooting Bow was the most incredible person in the world. He was a Supreme Being who was absolutely unmatchable and unreachable by all.
