Chu Gucheng donned a dark expression, but he suppressed his fury and did not flare up.

“Saintess, you have to be responsible for what you’ve said. If you’re just trying to humiliate me, there’s no need for you to falsify the truth.” he said icily.

The Primary Hope Saintess remained calm and collected. She did not care about what Chu Gucheng had said. Her alluring gaze turned to Gu Changge. Upon seeing that, the guests fell into their thoughts.

When Gu Changge saw the guests shifting their attention to him, he smiled and put down his wine cup before asking with interest, “What’s wrong? Are you trying to shift the blame to me, King Chu?”

Chu Gucheng had been vexed the entire time. He had put on a pretence earlier, but he decided not to conceal his intention now.

He said impassively, “The Heavenslayers Alliance was founded in the Immortal Spirit Civilisation. In just a few years, it has spread across many True Worlds. The believers of the Heavenslayers Alliance have been spreading its doctrine and accumulating more followers for you. All of these actions are no different from what the remnants of the Black Disaster had been doing back then.”

“Well, it seems that you’re aware of our way of doing things, King Chu. Why don’t you tell me what atrocities we’ve committed since our establishment?” Gu Changge smiled nonchalantly.

“Because of the Heavenslayers Alliance’s existence, the Immortal Spirit Civilisation, which had been peaceful for many years, descended into chaos again. Many Forces were destroyed and countless living beings lost their lives because of your alliance. Do you need me to remind you about all these things, Young Master Gu?” Chu Gucheng swung his sleeve and snorted.

Before Gu Changge could respond, he continued saying, “I had sent some people to the Immortal Spirit Civilisation, hoping to suppress the rebellion and restore peace to that Civilisation. However, before they even arrived, they already saw endless slaughters and bloodbaths. They had no choice but to stop. It shows the kind of disaster that the Immortal Spirit Civilisation was going through. Countless galaxies and universes have disappeared just like this. I feel sorrowful whenever I think about this.”

As he spoke, he could hardly conceal his sorrow and fury. It was as though he was truly mournful over the loss of those Forces and living beings in the Immortal Spirit Civilisation.

A sense of melancholy spread across the place. The ministers and generals of the Land of Celestial Suffering were sympathetic towards the suffering of those in the Immortal Spirit Civilisation as though they had seen the atrocities.

“Your Majesty is kind-hearted and concerned about all living beings. We’ve become what we are today thanks to your hard work and perseverance. Under our protection, the Immortal Spirit Civilisation has been flourishing. Every epoch, they would send us a lot of resources and Fortuity Crystals to express their gratitude.”

“We don’t have the heart to see it devastated just like this.”

Many ministers spoke just then to express their wrath and misery.

The guests looked on with interest. They watched everything in silence and fell into their thoughts. They were not fools, so they would not readily believe Chu Gucheng’s statement.

Be it the Immortal Spirit Civilisation or the Heavenslayers Alliance, things could not be explained with just a brief statement.

Previously, few Forces had looked into the Heavenslayers Alliance.

On the one hand, the Heavenslayers Alliance was located in the Immortal Spirit Civilisation, which was far away from the Primary Hope Civilisation. No one was willing to take on the risk. On the other hand, the Land of Celestial Suffering had spread the news that the Immortal Spirit Civilisation had been occupied by the remnants of the Black Disaster.

People were terrified of the remnants of the Black Disaster, so they naturally would not go there.

They also could not rule out the possibility that the Land of Celestial Suffering had spread some fake news to fool others into helping them get rid of their enemies.

After all, the Immortal Spirit Civilisation had always submitted to the Land of Celestial Suffering, but it was occupied by Gu Changge later on. That was how grudges between them formed.

Also, Chu Gucheng’s statement could not prove that the Heavenslayers Alliance had anything to do with the remnants of the Black Disaster.

One had to know that the rise of any Force meant countless people had been killed and many crimes had been committed. The Land of Celestial Suffering was no exception. The strong would flourish and the weak would be eliminated.

Suddenly, someone was heard clapping, which startled the guests. Ling Yuxian and the Primary Hope Saintess turned to look at Gu Changge.

Gu Changge rose to his feet while clapping. He said, “I didn’t expect you to be so kind-hearted, King Chu. I’m sorry for not realising that earlier. In that case, why don’t you immediately stop the war against the Beast Court? Don’t you see there are countless slaughters at the border? How can you turn a blind eye to the unending karma and death there?”

The children of Chu Gucheng were vexed upon hearing that. Chu Xinyue clenched her fists and suppressed her fury.

Naturally, Chu Gucheng would not flare up at this point. He remained unperturbed.

“The Beast Court is the one who has provoked and invaded us. You’re comparing apples with oranges. Do you want us to sit back and do nothing when the Beast Court is attacking us?”

“Young Master Gu, do you think all we’ve done is wrong? Are we supposed to wait here and get killed?”

Two ministers stepped forward and refuted Gu Changge with furious expressions.

The guests from different Forces only watched the good show from the sidelines. Many even hoped that Gu Changge and Chu Gucheng would get into a battle right there.

People from Forces like Bright Light Temple and Towering Divine Cave attended the birthday banquet because they had to show Chu Gucheng some respect, but that did not mean they wanted to be associated with him.

At this point, they hoped that Chu Gucheng would help them find out how powerful Gu Changge truly was.

Naturally, Chu Gucheng was not a fool. Too many things were happening all at once, and he had a hard time dealing with them. He merely wanted to vent his frustrations, but he would not fall out with Gu Changge. Therefore, he did not respond to the ministers’ words. His expression remained emotionless.

Gu Changge put on a smile. “Well, you said the Beast Court was the one who provoked you first, but as far as I’m concerned, they’ve decided to launch an attack against you because their Ninth Crown Prince Di Wen was killed by someone from the Land of Celestial Suffering.

“King Chu protected the murderer who killed Di Wen and earned some respect, but countless cultivators and living beings have lost their lives because of his decision. Universes have been shattered and people have nowhere to live. I wonder which one is more cruel, King Chu or the Heavenslayers Alliance?

“King Chu feels sorry for the Races and living beings killed in the Immortal Spirit Civilisation, but who will feel sorry for the soldiers and generals who were destroyed on the battlefield because of him?”

It had to be said that Gu Changge’s words had a huge impact.

The ministers who had so sternly refuted him were shocked. They wanted to counter, but they parted their lips and did not know what to say. The expressions of the other ministers and generals changed as well. They recalled the experiences of some people from the Land of Celestial Suffering upon hearing his words.

Even the Heavenly Divine General had lost his life in the war against the Beast Court.

The war between the Land of Celestial Suffering and the Beast Court could’ve been avoided.

It all happened because of the death of Di Wen, who was the Ninth Crown Prince of the Beast Court. Chu Xiao was dragged into this matter and killed by Di Kun. If Chu Gucheng had chosen not to protect the murderer of Di Wen, things might have turned out to be different.

When Chu Gucheng noticed the expressions of the ministers and generals, his gaze darkened. He calmly said, “You’re skilled at fooling others, Young Master Gu. It’s no wonder the Heavenslayers Alliance could amass so many followers in just a short time.”

He knew his statement could not prove that the Heavenslayers Alliance founded by Gu Changge had anything to do with the remnants of the Black Disaster, especially when the Primary Hope Saintess was on Gu Changge’s side.

If he still harped on this issue, he would suffer a setback in the end.

“Fooling others? No, I’m just telling the truth.” Gu Changge put on a meaningful smile.

As such, the birthday banquet ended on a bad note. Chu Gucheng came up with the excuse of having to attend to some matters and left the place. The Princes and Princesses were responsible for keeping the guests company.

Many guests did not immediately leave the Land of Celestial Suffering. They wanted to watch a good show and see how those from the Land of Celestial Suffering were going to deal with the situation.

The Heavenslayers Alliance was not as horrifying as they had imagined, and it might not have anything to do with the remnants of the Black Disaster.

Those from the Land of Celestial Suffering might have deliberately spread some fake news so that others could help them get rid of their enemies.

After figuring this out, the guests were relieved and less vigilant against Gu Changge.

The Dao Realm Elders from the Towering Divine Cave put on milder expressions. They took the young Disciples who had come into contact with Gu Changge when they were in Purple Return City of the Southbarren Ancient Territory with them and apologised to Gu Changge for their hostility earlier.

After those from Towering Divine Cave set the example, the Elders of other Forces came forward and spoke to Gu Changge.

Regardless of their stance, they had to take Gu Changge seriously because of his inscrutable power. Even those from the Tathagata Buddha Realm, who were usually on good terms with the Land of Celestial Suffering, did the same.

True Buddha Ku Ji hoped that Gu Changge would visit the Tathagata Buddha Realm so that they could talk about faith.

They were curious about how the Heavenslayers Alliance was able to amass many followers in a short time, so they wanted to learn from him. After all, monks needed their followers to pray to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas so that they could absorb their Power of Faith.

True Buddha Ku Ji had established countless Buddhist Kingdoms of different sizes. His followers referred to him as the True Buddha of the Advanced Thousand Buddha Realm.

He had countless followers in the places where he usually showed up.

Over the years, he had accumulated tremendous Power of Faith from the followers in his Buddhist Kingdoms.

With the help of the Power of Faith, True Buddha Ku Ji was able to get through several Tribulations, thus becoming a being who was as powerful as an Ancestral Dao Realm expert.

Gu Changge had no intention of going to the Tathagata Buddha Realm for now, but considering that he might come into contact with them in the future, he did not directly turn down True Buddha Ku Ji.

As Chu Xinyue watched people like True Buddha Ku Ji speaking to Gu Changge, she donned a gloomy expression. Her knuckles turned pale as she clenched her fists. However, she could not lose her manners in front of the guests. She had to keep an elegant smile on her face.

“Why don’t you leave first, Xinyue? I suppose Father is very frustrated now. You can speak to him and help placate him.” When Chu Wushang, who was the Eldest Prince of the Land of Celestial Suffering, saw that Chu Xinyue was suppressing her anger, he was worried she would do something that would put them in a tight spot and allow Gu Changge to criticise them. As such, he told her to leave first.

“Eldest Brother…” Chu Xinyue looked worriedly at Chu Wushang.

Although Chu Wushang was calm and hard-working, his aptitude was limited.

Despite the fact that Chu Gucheng had helped him by giving him all sorts of treasures and seeking many opportunities for him, Chu Wushang had only passed through his Fourth Decay Tribulations. He most likely did not have a chance to make it to the Ancestral Dao Realm in the future.

“Don’t worry. No one dares to make a scene in the capital. Moreover, we have many powerful cultivators like Master and several Seniors.” Chu Wushang gave her an assuring look. He knew she was worried that he was not authoritative enough in this place, given his cultivation.

Chu Xinyue nodded and left the scene.

The Young Palace Master of the Unfettered Heavenly Palace, Ouyang Ji, left with her along with his servants. He had been following Chu Xinyue around during this period. Although he regarded himself as a suitor, many felt that he was more like a lackey.

Chu Xinyue was uncomfortable with his presence at first, but she slowly got used to it. She stopped putting on a pretence and directly ordered Ouyang Ji around.

Seeing how subservient Ouyang Ji was, Chu Xinyue was disdainful while feeling conceited.

The Young Palace Master of the Unfettered Heavenly Palace was a brilliant cultivator who had gone through several Decay Tribulations. He was a powerful figure in the Rising Dawn Civilisation and set to take over the Unfettered Heavenly Palace in the future. Still, he was willing to obey Chu Xinyue’s orders to win her heart.

Unfortunately, Ouyang Ji was timid. After he was injured by Gu Changge once, he did not even dare to get his revenge, let alone find fault with the latter.

“We’re surprised that the Primary Hope Saintess has sided with that guy surnamed Gu. She even disobeyed an Ancient Senior like Elder Jin. It seems that she’s determined to go against the Land of Celestial Suffering. Father’s decision is right. We have to get prepared quickly.”

After leaving the party, Chu Xinyue headed to the depths of the Land of Celestial Suffering to have a discussion with Chu Gucheng. When she thought about what had happened, her gaze radiated an icy glow.

Ouyang Ji was walking beside her. When he saw how anxious she was, he asked worriedly, “Are you going to make a move against the Primary Hope Saintess, Xinyue?”
