The unimaginably powerful archnemesis hovered above the Land of Celestial Suffering again, looking as calm and impassive as ever.,
There was no emotion behind his deep gaze. He was not affected by what was happening here in any way.
“Why have we still fallen into this state in the end?” Chu Gucheng was besieged by several people again. Blood streamed from the orifices of his face and no part of his body was intact. Even his armour had broken apart. He stared fixedly at Gu Changge with a gaze full of resentment.
After accidentally catching the attention of the Land of Truth, Gu Changge hurriedly left the place without continuing to make any moves. This gave Chu Gucheng a chance to take a breather.
Chu Gucheng initially thought he would have some time to recover. But much to his surprise, the Land of Celestial Suffering was besieged by so many Forces only a month after the epic battle.
Everything happened so soon that his chance to take a breather was gone.
The outcome had been determined that day. His efforts during this period were pointless.
Gu Changge hovered in the sky and watched everything with calmness, never intending to make a move. He was waiting to see the demise of the Land of Celestial Suffering.
Chu Gucheng looked resentfully at Gu Changge while being besieged.
All of a sudden, he noticed that Gu Changge parted his lips. Since there was a long distance between them, he could not hear what the latter was saying.
Unresigned, he still stared intently at him.
When Gu Changge saw this, he finally had some sympathy for Chu Gucheng. His lips curved slightly as though he was looking at a struggling insect before its death.
Chu Gucheng was struck by a palm. The piece of armour around his chest fell apart and his chest was almost penetrated. Finally, he made out what Gu Changge was saying.
‘That’s because I’m an enemy you can never defeat.’
“I see. I see!” Chu Gucheng was crestfallen as he fell from the sky. Not even a part of his body was intact. Blood streamed out of his pores, covering his face and dying his clothes red.
“Your Majesty…” His subordinates and generals exclaimed. Someone tried to go over and catch him. However, a fist suddenly arrived and struck this person, causing him to explode with a *boom*. He instantly turned into blood mist.
“Kill them! Since they’re trying to destroy the Land of Celestial Suffering, we’ll fight them till the end! No one can trample on our homeland!” Chu Gucheng’s subordinate, the Eight-Headed True God, who had gone to the Immortal Spirit Civilisation to look into the Heavenslayers Alliance. Before his arrival, he received an order from Chu Gucheng telling him to return, which was why the calamitous battle against Gu Changge did not befall him.
His eyes on all his heads were bloodshot as he was incensed. He growled and charged forward, no longer as cautious as he used to be. Instead, he was agitated and fearless while clashing with a Dao Realm expert. Immense energy exploded and the aftermath spread and destroyed everything.
Then, another Dao Realm expert joined the battle. The two of them collaborated and eventually killed the Eight-Headed True God, turning him into blood mist as well.
Chu Gucheng fell into a puddle of blood. His vision became blurry.
He saw his subordinates clashing with the enemies. Even the Champion General, Chu Heng, who had almost fallen out with him in the hall, was also leading his soldiers to go against the enemies.
Violent battles had broken out in different territories. Some had run away, whereas some were determined to fight until the end.
His children were also battling against their enemies. Some of his lovers had fled with as much resources as they could carry, whereas some were determined to die with the Kingdom.
Chu Gucheng was regretful deep within. Had he not made that decision at that time, would the outcome have changed?
Unbeknownst to him, he did not have a choice in this matter. An invisible hand was making everything happen behind the scenes like a play, forcing him into this despairing situation.
The sky shook with a boom. A fair hand descended again, causing Heaven and Earth to be unstable. It was as though the person was determined to erase the Kingdom from this Spacetime.
“Where have you trapped the Primary Hope Saintess?” Xi Yin stared coldly at Chu Gucheng. The aura of the Great Dao coiled around her fingers, mounting great pressure on everyone.
Chu Gucheng lifted his head and guffawed, ignoring the fact that he was still bleeding. “The Primary Hope Saintess has insisted on going against me. I’ve confined her to the depths of the Boundless Spacetime. You will never find her.”
Following that, he rose into the sky and clashed with the enemies again. His hair was dishevelled and he was covered in blood, looking like he had gone mad.
He used all the techniques he had learned in the past epochs and summoned all the Supreme Treasures he had accumulated over the years. His power was so immense that it was as though many Suns exploded in the depths of the sky.
The immense energy spread and destroyed everything. Spacetime and the universes around him were annihilated.
Even Ancestral Dao Realm experts were astounded. They knew that Chu Gucheng was going all out, determined to bring his enemies to Hell with him.
“You’re asking for death!” Xi Yin was furious. She left the ancient battleship and lifted her hand, which radiated the lights of the Great Dao. It was as though she was in a time when Heaven and Earth had just been created.
She waved her hand as the stars were reorganised. The Mist of Chaos surrounded them as they charged forward while carrying Divine Lights.
The repercussions of this epic battle affected the Boundless Spacetime. Principles and Order were destroyed. Countless being were terrified.
“This is the outcome you’ve wanted to see, isn’t it?” Suddenly, a sigh was heard close to Gu Changge’s ear.
Ling Yuxian hovered in midair and stood before the ancient battleship. Her hair swayed with the wind as she watched the violent war in the Land of Celestial Suffering.
Gu Changge did not turn his head as he still looked calmly at the war.
“I had expected this.” He said emotionlessly.
“So, the Land of Celestial Suffering is destroyed, just like this?” Ling Yuxian did not have much sympathy for the Land of Celestial Suffering. However, when she saw this once mighty Kingdom falling apart so quickly, she was conflicted deep within.
The mountains had come apart and the ground had cracked. The islands that hovered in the galaxies had exploded into nothingness. The once stars filled with life in the distance dimmed. Although the sight was terrifying, it could be said to be magnificent as well.
The galaxies and universes beautifully exploded like fireworks before falling into eternal darkness.
“Those from the Land of Celestial Suffering had it coming. They deserve this outcome.” Gu Changge pocketed his gaze and spoke to Ling Yuxian.
Ling Yuxian nodded, not wanting to dwell on this topic. Since she was close to Gu Changge, her hair swayed with the wind and whisked across his chest, carrying with it a faint fragrance.
She looked hesitant. It seemed that she had something to say. After giving it some thought, she said in a small voice, “You didn’t return to the Imperial Celestial Palace after the battle against Chu Gucheng…”
Ling Yuxian wanted to know why Gu Changge had caught the attention of the Land of Truth, causing its illusory image to manifest. He had disrupted Chu Gucheng’s Decay Tribulation, and he was supposed to be affected by it but nothing happened at the time.
Then, Gu Changge went missing. She thought that he would return to the Imperial Celestial Palace, but she realised he was nowhere to be found upon her return.
After that, she learned from Jing Tianyuan that those from the Primary Hope Holy Church intended to unite the different Forces to deal with the Land of Celestial Suffering. She finally met Gu Changge while on her way to her destination.
“Were you worried about my safety?” Gu Changge suddenly smiled.
Ling Yuxian tutted, but she did not deny it. “Since time immemorial, anyone who has been targeted by the Land of Truth will eventually fall into a horrible state.” She had a fair face, red lips, and a beautiful nose. She spoke while looking at him.
Gu Changge had built a Force called the Heavenslayers Alliance. It was a pretty offensive name to Heaven.
At the thought of this, Ling Yuxian suddenly realised it was not so surprising that he had caught the attention of the Land of Truth.
“So what if I’ve been targeted by the Land of Truth? I’ll go there one day.” Gu Changge still smiled nonchalantly.
“Is this why you’ve named it the Heavenslayers Alliance?” Ling Yuxian stared fervently at him, suddenly realising his intention.
If this was indeed Gu Changge’s intention of establishing the Heavenslayers Alliance, it explained the doctrine of the Heavenslayers Alliance she had heard and Gu Changge’s actions upon his arrival in the Primary Hope Civilisation.
Ling Yuxian was no ordinary cultivator, so she knew what the Land of Truth meant to all the living beings in the Boundless Expanse. Even she and her Older Sister were not willing to talk about this topic.
“What do you think my goals are? Control the world and restore the Heaven’s Proxy Group? Or, do I want to seize the Heavenly Dao Authority and rule over the entire Boundless Expanse?” Gu Changge asked.
Ling Yuxian shook her head as her hair danced in the air. She looked intently at him. “No, that’s not your intention. I believe you.”
“It’s useless for you to believe me. I don’t need anyone to believe in me.” Gu Changge shook his head and smiled. Calmness had been restored on his face.
Ling Yuxian donned a conflicted expression. The war against Heaven was a difficult one. Countless Great Sages had tried it but failed in the end. It was a path paved with mud and thorns. There would not be a positive outcome, and it was a dead end where there was no turning back.
Many who would go against Heaven would be born after every Great Purge in those Nascent True Worlds and Ancient True Worlds. Nevertheless, most were ignorant and they ended up in a horrible state.
Even Ancestral Dao Realm experts who had gotten through their Seventh Decay Tribulation and Last Stage beings revered the Land of Truth.
The higher they stood, the more they understood how difficult the path was. They knew there was not any hope of success.
Ling Yuxian left the ancient battleship with Gu Changge while still drowned in her conflicted feelings. When she came to her senses, she saw a barren Star Territory where the broken stars hovered in the Starry Sky. There were plenty corpses in the distance.
With his hands behind his back, Gu Changge walked slowly across the Starry Sky and impassively said, “Others are still madly clashing with one another, but here you are trying to leave safely after fanning the flames in the Land of Celestial Suffering. Don’t you think you’ve oversimplified things?”
The Spacetime in front of him was vague as ripples spread from there. He pushed out a finger, after which the Spacetime exploded. An old man flew out of it while spitting blood. His clothes were dilapidated, and his face was covered in blood and fear. “Y-You…”
He was none other than Elder Jin from the Rising Dawn Civilisation.
At that time, he joined forces with Chu Gucheng and the others to deal with Gu Changge but got badly injured. Then, he stayed in the Land of Celestial Suffering to recuperate. He intended to leave the Land of Celestial Suffering and return to the Rising Dawn Civilisation when he recovered a little.
Now that the Land of Celestial Suffering had been struck with a calamity, he naturally could not keep staying here and die with the others. Therefore, he snuck into Spacetime and fled when there was a chance. Unfortunately for him, Gu Changge had noticed him.
“You’re a Demon! A Demon who has brought disaster to all living beings! You’ll suffer a for all eternity and receive your retribution sooner or later. Even if Heaven show you any mercy, someone else will destroy you.” Elder Jin’s face was covered in blood. Gu Changge had almost ended his life earlier when the Spacetime exploded upon impact.
His injury worsened, so it was impossible for him to flee from Gu Changge.
“I’m the Overlord of the Boundless Expanse. I’d like to know if anyone is able to destroy me.” Gu Changge snorted with an unperturbed gaze.
“What goes around comes around. The karma you’ve caused will come back to haunt you one day. Regardless of how powerful and arrogant you are, you’ll get your retribution.” Elder Jin was full of resentment. Even though he knew he was not a match for Gu Changge, he was not willing to die just like this. A horrifying aura suddenly appeared from the centre of his white brows. The entire universe trembled. He intended to destroy his own Dao Fruit to bring Gu Changge to Hell with him.
Rarely any Ancestral Dao Realm expert would self-detonate. After living and striving for so long, how many were willing to die like this?
The River of Time appeared. The fluctuations before Elder Jin self-detonation spread across the Boundless Spacetime. Spaces of the past and the present were soon filled with this terrifying aura.
But, Gu Changge had expected Elder Jin to make this move.
A brightly lit ball floated on his palm and it was surrounded by Dao Energy. It was beautiful and included countless galaxies, Spacetimes, and universes.
It was a Civilisation Supreme Treasure, the Sphere of Ambition.
Gu Changge lifted his hand and a Divine Light flew forward with a *whoosh*. The Sphere of Ambition was like a Moon above them and it soon devoured Elder Jin’s Dao Fruit.
Immense energy clashed within the Sphere like waves but it could not get out of it.
Elder Jin’s eyes widened as he could not believe that the tremendous energy of his exploding Dao Fruit was devoured by the light ball just like this.
Although the Sphere of Ambition was not a First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasure, it was made by the people of a Supreme Civilisation using all their might. Naturally, it could easily contain the immense energy of an Ancestral Dao Realm expert.
Gu Changge had intended to refine the Sphere of Ambition. It so happened that the energy from Elder Jin’s self-detonation could keep the Sphere of Ambition running for many years to come.
“Is it a Civilisation Supreme Treasure?” Ling Yuxian was rooted to the spot. She initially thought that the repercussions of an Ancestral Dao Realm expert’s self-detonation would sweep across the entire the Land of Celestial Suffering and destroy everything.
Much to her surprise, the immense energy was contained just like that.
Gu Changge nodded without explaining anything. Then, he kept the Sphere of Ambition.
He had intentionally let Ling Yuxian see it. The Sphere of Ambition was not a First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasure like the Gate of Eternity or the Mirror of Reincarnation, so it would not matter even if others found out about it.
“It’s supposed to be a copy of a First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasure made by some Civilisation at a later time.”
Ling Yuxian soon came to her senses. She was experienced enough to tell that there was a difference between the Sphere of Ambition and the Gate of Eternity, which was a First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasure.
Gu Changge had shown her the Sphere of Ambition. This meant that he was not worried about letting her know that he was collecting Civilisation Supreme Treasures.
In the past, the demise of an Ancestral Dao Realm expert would cause an uproar, but no one noticed it during the intense war. Too many had lost their lives. Blood splattered in the sky and dyed everywhere red. It was the blood of the most powerful cultivators in the world.
Even Dao Realm experts did not stand a chance to survive in this war, let alone the other living beings.
In a barren galaxy, a glowing boat was flying across Spacetime at an astonishing speed, causing ripples to spread.
“Second Sister, the Land of Celestial Suffering is gone. Where can we go? I’m afraid Father is dead as well.” It was an ancient flying boat that was made from different types of Mother Gold. It could traverse across a broken Spacetime.
Many members of the Royal Family of the Land of Celestial Suffering had gathered here, running for their lives.
Chu Xinyue was carrying an ancient bottle in her arms. She had restored her original appearance. Naturally, she would not dare to keep disguising herself as the Primary Hope Saintess at this point.
This flying boat was an Artifact that could conceal Heavenly Secrets and all auras, which allowed them to safely escape.
“Although the Land of Celestial Suffering has been destroyed, we’ll have a chance to get revenge as long as we’re still alive.” She looked at the ruins behind her. Their territories had been engulfed in the fire of war. Her gaze was full of resentment.
