The spear light was dazzling. It broke through the Great Universe with dominating force. The blood streamed down the spear and dripped into the void while carrying a distinct fragrance.

Ling Yuling trembled as a blood hole the size of a fist formed in her stomach. The black spear penetrated her figure, hanging her in midair.

Her face was pale, her eyes were dim, and her hair danced in the air. She looked like a flower that was about to wither.

The blood dyed the dress beneath her armour red. She looked miserable.

    “Senior!”

    “Founder!”

All of them were shocked by the terrifying sight. The people of the Imperial Celestial Palace exclaimed. Many Elders and Ancestors charged forward without hesitation in an attempt to save Ling Yuling.

“Older Sister…” Ling Yuxian felt her chest tightening. She clenched her fists, looking anxious.

The Primary Hope Saintess, whose weight was supported by Xi Yin, was equally shocked. She ignored her injury and tried to make another move.

She did not expect Ling Yuling to pounce on Gu Changge despite knowing that she would not be a match for him. She seemed determined to sacrifice herself.

The leaders of the various Forces were terrified as their bodies turned cold. They wondered if the Founder of the Imperial Celestial Palace would be killed by Gu Changge.

If she lost her life, would the rest of them be able to survive?

A myriad of expressions came over ancient beings like Dao Monarch Chang Ming and Shang Chongming. They never made a move because they were weighing the pros and cons. If Ling Yuling lost her life here, there would be no reason for them to help the Forces of the Primary Hope Civilisation.

A repercussion that felt like a massive wave swept across them. Gu Changge slightly waved his sleeve and the Elders and Ancestors of the Imperial Celestial Palace were sent flying away as though they had been struck by a mountain.

Elder Jiu Lin sprayed out a mouthful of blood and crashed into a cliff. Although he was not badly injured, he was covered in dust, looking battered.

He was one of the few Elders from the Imperial Celestial Palace who had come into contact with Gu Changge before. He had always felt that Gu Changge was calm and never interfered in worldly affairs. Therefore, he was surprised that Gu Changge would make a move to kill Ling Yuling.

    “Elder Xian Yun…”

    “No!”

Elder Jiu Lin got up with difficulty. Before he could heal his wounds, he saw a figure summoning her weapon. The aura around her boiled and her gaze was full of fury and determination as she charged towards Gu Changge. She was none other than Elder Xian Yun from Xian Yun Practice Grounds.

He exclaimed and flew forward in an attempt to stop Elder Xian Yun from sacrificing herself.

Although Elder Xian Yun was a Dao Realm expert, she was still far away from the Ancestral Dao Realm. How was she going to hurt Gu Changge when even Ancestral Dao Realm experts were not a match for him?

If she made a move against him, she would surely be killed.

Now, all of them from the Imperial Celestial Palace were enemies of Gu Changge. Naturally, he would not consider their previous friendship and hold back.

“Don’t stop me, Elder Jiu Lin. I have to save the Founder. He’s gone back on his word. He made a promise to me. This matter has nothing to do with the Founder. He’s fully aware of that…” Elder Xian Yun was grief-stricken and regretful as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Elder Jiu Lin was startled. He could not make heads or tails of Elder Xian Yun’s words. [What does she mean that it had nothing to do with the Founder? What is she trying to say? Also, what was the promise made to her by Gu Changge? Did he ask Elder Xian Yun to help him with something during his stay at her Practice Grounds?]

But now, he did not have time to probe her. Elder Xian Yun was emotionally unstable, so he had to stop her from committing such a foolish act. Making a move against Gu Changge was no different from suicide.

Ling Yuling coughed as her face was covered in blood. She opened her eyes with difficulty and looked at the dispassionate Gu Changge. Although blood was still streaming from her mouth, she did not struggle.

She could feel her Life Force rapidly leaving her body. A sense of frailty and coldness engulfed her. She had never been this close to death before.

Still, she did not struggle. She calmly waited for her death.

It could be said that she had it coming. She was the one who had caused all this. She deserved the outcome and was supposed to be held responsible.

“You still made a move against me despite knowing that you wouldn’t be a match for me. Should I say that you’re foolish or that you’re sick of living?” Gu Changge looked coldly at her. There was no emotion behind his gaze.

“I’m sorry.” Ling Yuling’s eyes were dim. Blood continued to stream from her mouth as she spoke. She was badly injured. Gu Changge had previously injured her, and the attack this time almost destroyed her Life Force.

“If you’ve decided to sacrifice yourself to show your innocence, all I can say is that you’re foolish and naive.” Gu Changge swept a dispassionate glance over the people from the various Forces who were nervous and wary. Then, he said to Li Yuling, “Look at these people. Do you think they’ll come to save you at this point?”

The light went out of Ling Yuling’s eyes. Naturally, she knew they wouldn’t.

Apart from those from the Imperial Celestial Palace, no one would care whether she was dead or alive. They might even hope that she and Gu Changge would die at the same time. After all, her existence would affect them as well. Considering her status, she would have some influence over the developments in the Primary Hope Civilisation.

Anyway, it was her decision and she would not blame anyone.

“Being kind-hearted is meaningless. The principles you adhere to are nothing more than rubbish in the current era. Who would care about the survival of all living beings other than themselves?” Gu Changge said emotionlessly.

With a boom, the spear in his hand dissolved into smoke. Without any support, Ling Yuling fell from the sky.

She did not expect Gu Changge to let her off in the end. With a conflicted gaze, she got up with difficulty.

Still, the blood hole in her stomach the size of a fist was hideous. A destructive aura still engulfed it. The wound would not heal in a short time.

Considering her injury, she had lost the power to fight. She could no longer make a move against Gu Changge.

Gu Changge swept a dispassionate glance over Ling Yuling before extending his fingers. Two dark lights shot towards her. One spun and turned into hefty shackles around her ankles.

The other landed on her neck and transformed into a dark chain, which radiated a strange glow.

“These are…” Ling Yuling was startled, feeling all strength rapidly disappearing.

She realised she had even lost her senses. Her divine sense was gone and she could not feel anything. At that moment, she was like an ordinary person who had not cultivated.

She soon understood what was going on, but she did not protest. Gu Changge was magnanimous enough to not kill her. It was only reasonable that he restricted her cultivation and freedom.

When those from the Imperial Celestial Palace saw that Gu Changge was not going to kill Ling Yuling, they were relieved. On the other hand, those from various Forces donned dark expressions. Although Gu Changge had let Ling Yuling off, it did not mean he would forgive them.

They were not as powerful and lucky as Ling Yuling was, nor were they as capable. In their opinion, Gu Changge had decided to let Ling Yuling off because she was useful. Those from the Heavenslayers Alliance needed someone like her.

“Rather than waiting for death, we should give it a shot. There’s no way he’d let us off.”

“At this point, does any one of you still think there are other possibilities?”

“We should join hands and fight for a chance at survival. Otherwise, all of us will die here.”

A myriad of expressions came over the leaders. Their gazes were full of determination. They knew that if this dragged on, all of them would be tormented and killed. Therefore, the only solution was for them to collaborate and break free.

Although Gu Changge was horrifyingly powerful, it was not easy for him to quickly end their lives.

After a brief discussion, they made a decision and told the people behind them to help stall for time. They would work together to break the seal so that everyone could leave.

Then, they sent voice transmissions to the Primary Hope Saintess and Xi Yin to express their intention of using the help of the Mirror of Reincarnation’s power to open up a path that led to the outside world. As for how many people could eventually leave, it depended on their luck.

    “Kill them!”

Following the order of several leaders, some experts from the various Forces charged forward without hesitation while casting their most powerful attacks.

Between Heaven and Earth, all sorts of rare treasures like ancient towers, cauldrons, bronze mirrors, and Yin Yang Mirrors appeared. Lights bloomed as power flowed. Many ancient Dao Abilities and techniques were cast and thrown.

Celestial Mist surged and all sorts of Runes intertwined with each other. It was as though they were at a time when Heaven and Earth just got created.

“We have to open up a path that will lead us to the outside world.”

The Primary Hope Saintess did not hesitate upon hearing the words of those leaders of the various Forces. Despite her frailty, she summoned the Mirror of Reincarnation.

When she saw that Ling Yuling was captured, she knew that her outcome would be a terrible one if she fell into Gu Changge’s hands. He would not hold back just because they used to be friends. Their only solution now was to use the Mirror of Reincarnation’s power to try to break free from here.

The Light of Reincarnation came together and shone brightly. It was like an indestructible Divine Light. It penetrated the void and traversed across the sky as it shot towards the black lotus.

The black lotus was descending slowly as deafening sounds were heard. Every petal was massive. All sorts of Runes intertwined with one another. Divine Chains expanded and formed a dark prison, which seemed to have been prepared for all of them there.

Regardless of how violent the clashes were, all matter evaporated. The impact felt like billions of stars exploded at the same time. Scenes like the evolution of universes and the destruction of Chaos were enacted at that moment.

The leaders of various Forces worked together to make a move. With the help of the Primary Hope Saintess’ Mirror of Reincarnation, they were hoping to open up a path that would lead to the outside world. When the ancient beings saw that, they joined them in the hope of breaking free.

The other beings pounced on Gu Changge to stall for time.

    “Alliance Leader…”

Those mighty experts from the Heavenslayers Alliance donned icy expressions. They did not expect these people to be sick of living even at this point.

With an emotionless gaze, Gu Changge extended his hand which expanded and covered the dark area. It felt like rain was falling from the sky. These people were sent flying away while spitting blood.

Some exploded into blood mists before they could go anywhere near Gu Changge.

Scrolls and ancient treasures fell and turned into dust in an instant.

This was a terrifying sight. Even those from the Heavenslayers Alliance were frightened. Gu Changge alone could deal with so many people from various Forces, all top experts. He did not even need their help.

If he had wanted to take control of the Primary Hope Civilisation with brute force, it would not have been difficulty to do.

People from the Major Forces of the Primary Hope Civilisation had gathered in this place. Dao Realm experts, who were usually hidden from the public, were everywhere.

Following the order of their leaders, those Elders fearlessly dashed towards Gu Changge in an attempt to stall for time and fight for a chance of survival.

The sight was heroic and tragic at the same time. Gu Changge hovered in the darkness with an indifferent gaze. The Sphere of Ambition was like a Sun as billions of golden lights beamed from it. These beings were reduced to ashes in an instant.

As a Civilisation Supreme Treasure, the Sphere of Ambition was able to collect the Fortuity of the People. However, Gu Changge used it like a destructive Supreme Treasure which could annihilate everything in the world. All of them trembled in fear.

The black lotus was enormous and every petal was abstruse and contained countless universes. It was still slowly descending despite facing attacks from ancient beings and leaders of various Forces.

Wisps of Chaos Energy appeared and the Fragments of Spacetime burned. It was as though this Spacetime would be frozen soon.

The leaders growled and used their most powerful attacks. Their attacks seemed like the reenactment of the creation of Heaven and Earth. Their powers were shocking. There had never been an incident as terrifying as this in history.

With the help of the Mirror of Reincarnation, the Primary Hope Saintess used the Power of Reincarnation, which condensed into a massive jade-like hand. It flew forward and tried to open up a gap in the darkness formed by the black lotus.

Soon, a dark mist came over and corroded the massive hand she had cast, causing damage to it.

She grunted and her face was pale. At that moment, she could feel that she had opened up a gap in the darkness. She forcefully bit her lip as a metallic tang spread.

The next moment, her forehead and the centre of her brows started glowing. Primordial scenes were enacted behind her clear eyes. Great Universes fell apart and Gods dissipated.

A moment later, the Mirror of Reincarnation started showing signs of coming alive. The surface of the ancient mirror radiated a powerful glow which penetrated the universe.

The dark mist dissipated and evaporated. The Light of Reincarnation had successfully connected with a Spacetime in the distance.

“Success… We’ve succeeded! We can break free now!”

The leaders of various Forces were thrilled. They could catch a glimpse of the outside world. A gap appeared in the darkness and the path to the outside world was formed.

Many of them hurriedly flew forward in that direction, hoping to leave this dangerous place.

Those like the Master of Light, Dao Monarch Chang Ming, and Shang Chongming were quick as they turned into Divine Lights and charged forward. The Primary Hope Saintess was pale. She turned around in an attempt to take the people from the Primary Hope Holy Church with her.

But as that happened, she heard a sneer coming from Gu Changge in the distance. He cast away the people around him with a *boom* and extended his hand which expanded rapidly.

Chaos Energy surrounded his fingers as universes spun around his hand. Billions of galaxies and Spacetimes seemed to be within his grasp.

The Primary Hope Saintess could not promptly react. She felt an immense pressure striking her, after which she grunted in pain and spat blood.

Fortunately, the Mirror of Reincarnation protected her in time. Otherwise, she would have died right there. On the other hand, the leaders around her were not so lucky.

Many shrieks and some parts of their bodies exploded when they were struck by the attack. Some were despondent as they fell from the gap.

The Primary Hope Saintess felt faint. She almost passed out because of the excruciating pain. But now, she could only hold on with difficulty. No longer able to help the others, she took the Mirror of Reincarnation with her and flew towards the gap in the hope of breaking free before it closed again.
