Chapter 1084, Beneath the Supreme, All Are Ants
by SilavinTranslator: Silavin
The Blood Beastman was clearly supremely confident in the Blood Devouring Poison.
And the Blood Devouring Poison prepared for this occasion was not ordinary.
To ensure absolute certainty, the Blood Beastmen Race had sacrificed ten Saints in its creation, and the Patriarch of the Blood Beastmen Race had personally added finishing touches.
Because of this, even the Elf Queen herself had been ensnared by the poison at the time, unable to purge it from her body.
Of course, the Blood Beastman was under no illusions. They were no match for the Elf Queen, not even close.
Irene, the Elf Queen, was one of the most formidable Supreme Experts in existence.
The expression of the Incubus Race’s Young Heir shifted, then settled back into composure. An otherworldly radiance shimmered within his eyes, dark as twin voids, capable of swallowing the mind whole. A single glance was enough to drag a person into their depths.
*Hmph!* Irene’s voice cut through the air like a thunderclap, cold and clear, sending an involuntary tremor through every person present.
Her gaze passed over the young man with disdain. “Put away your petty tricks!”
*Heh!* The corner of the Incubus Race’s Young Heir’s mouth quirked upward, but the dark shimmer in his eyes dimmed away.
Even one as arrogant as he could not deny it: before a Supreme Expert of the Elf Queen’s calibre, every technique he possessed was pitiful, almost no different to that of a child.
Still, they held a trump card, the Blood Devouring Poison.
And the Elf Queen had not yet moved against them. In their eyes, that hesitation spoke of its own kind of wariness.
Emboldened by her inaction, the Blood Beastman let his nerves swell further. “Irene, I urge you to hand over the Life Scepter. Otherwise, there will soon be one fewer Race in this world…”
“Indeed there will be one fewer Race in this world.” The Blood Beastman’s words had barely faded before the Elf Queen’s voice followed them, cold and saturated with killing intent.
*Bang!* No visible movement. Not a single gesture. Yet the Blood Beastman was sent hurtling backwards, spewing blood into the air, and by the time he struck the ground, it was plain that he was already at death’s door.
“You…” He was too weak to even speak. He lay there, too feeble for words, yet his eyes burned with bewilderment and disbelief. ‘Does the Elf Queen truly intend to take the entire Elf Race down with her?’
“How terrifying. Is this what a Supreme Expert truly is?” Qin Yichen, who had followed close behind the Elf Queen as she arrived, had witnessed that entire exchange. Deep awe surfaced in his eyes.
That Blood Beastman was no ordinary Saint, and yet before her, he had not managed even a tiny bit of resistance.
Judging from his current state, his internal organs, meridians, and bones had all been simultaneously shattered by the impact.
He had not been directly killed, but for an expert of his calibre, this was a fate worse than death.
The Elf Queen had been provoked into genuine anger. They had crossed the line she would not allow to be crossed.
A chill gripped the hearts of the Incubus Race young man and his companion.
They wanted to flee. But no matter how desperately they wanted to, not a single finger would obey them.
Standing before the Elf Queen, they felt what it was to be ants, inconsequential and fragile, liable to be crushed out of existence at any moment.
“Speak. Who instructed you to do this?” Irene’s clear, frigid voice issued once more, and almost reflexively, both figures shuddered.
The Blood Beastmen Race alone would never have dared to go this far.
The appearance of the Incubus Race stirred a dark premonition in her.
The Incubus Race was powerful, but they were despised by the Myriad Races. The moment any sign of their revival surfaced, every Race would move to exterminate them once more.
The Incubus Race should not be the true hidden hand behind this.
What Race, or Force, could be formidable enough to bend the Incubus Race into its service?
That was the question gnawing at Irene.
The Incubus Race was not what frightened her. What frightened her was the unseen hand pulling their strings.
“It was him. He promised us…” The Incubus Race’s Young Heir pointed towards Felletin.
*Hmph!* A flash of cold light crossed Irene’s eyes. “It seems you have decided not to talk.”
A single Felletin was not enough to have orchestrated all of this.
The dying Elf Elder was nothing more than an exploitable opportunity.
“In that case, you no longer have any reason to exist.” The moment those words fell, the dense, surging Power of Life permeating the surrounding space descended upon the two figures with the crushing weight of a mountain.
“Irene, you dare!” The Incubus Race’s Young Heir finally panicked. He had not imagined that the Elf Queen would actually dare to kill him.
But his threats met only silence. The Elf Queen did not appear to hear them at all. That vast, torrential Power of Life bore down upon the pair without a moment of pause.
*Bang!* Within moments, the other figure, clearly no ordinary Saint, detonated, and was then washed entirely away by the Power of Life until nothing remained.
“No!” Even the Incubus Race’s Young Heir, powerful as he was, managed to hold on for only a few seconds before his body, too, burst apart.
But the shattered form left behind not a single drop of blood. It dispersed like a pocket of air, and nothing more.
“Oh?” A faint flicker of surprise passed through the Elf Queen’s cold, impassive eyes.
“A clone.” From a short distance away, Qin Yichen murmured as he took in the scene.
Experts of the Incubus Race, upon reaching the Saint Realm, could separate and manifest a clone, one that shared the original body’s talent in full and was capable of independently cultivating.
This was the defining advantage of the Incubus Race.
“To think just his clone could be this formidable.” Qin Yichen cast a glance towards the incapacitated Felletin, and a heavy, contemplative weight settled in his expression.
[If his clone was already this strong, what heights had the original reached?]
…
At the same moment, deep within some abyss thick with the reek of Death Energy, a bewitching young man suddenly opened his mouth and vomited a mouthful of blood, as though he had sustained a devastating, grievous blow.
“Damn it! Damn it! They dare to destroy my clone!”
His voice emerged as a sound like a Demon’s snarl, and the very space around him trembled in response. Death Energy surged, heaving waves around him, rising and falling like the sea.
That clone had accompanied him for thousands of years. And now, it has been destroyed in a single moment.
Even if he could create a new clone, did he truly have another thousand years to spend cultivating it?
“Useless.” Then, abruptly, a voice spoke from nowhere at all.
The bewitching young man, already weakened from the loss of his clone, had what little colour remained drained from his face.
“Master.” He prostrated himself upon the ground, his forehead pressed to the earth.
“I warned you. Your overconfident cleverness would do nothing but alert our enemies. Yet, you still could not restrain yourself from activating the hidden piece buried within the Blood Beastmen Race.” That voice was laced with dissatisfaction.
These hidden pieces should not have been squandered in such a manner.
Every single one represented a potential piece, capable of allowing him to seize and control an entire Race without stirring so much as a whisper of suspicion.
And now, one has been wasted and destroyed.
“Master…”
“Enough. Return to the Abyss. Until I summon you, you are not to set foot beyond it. Not even a single step.”
The bewitching young man still wished to explain but he was cut off before he could begin.
