Below the stage, Xiong Xiong, Xiang Linzi, and the others frowned upon seeing Qin Yichen.

They had assumed that anyone who dared provoke Li Shan must have strength not far behind his own. They had originally intended to use this opportunity to observe just how much Li Shan had progressed in recent years.

What they had not expected was that the young man who had become the talk of the city was merely an Early Stage Martial Ancestor.

Strength of this level, against Li Shan, was something he could casually finish off with a single punch. There was nothing worth watching here at all.

At this moment, Qin Yichen and Mei Ler had already arrived outside the wide expanse of the Blood Boulder Platform.

“Brat, I half thought you wouldn’t dare come.” Li Shan said, his gaze slowly settling upon Qin Yichen, his voice, saturated with killing intent, echoing out unhurriedly.

“You were so set on humiliating yourself, how could I not oblige?” replied Qin Yichen, stepping calmly onto the Blood Boulder Platform, carrying a confident smile.

“Oh?” Watching Qin Yichen walk up, a cold smile surfaced on Li Shan’s face.

He could not fathom where this Early Stage Martial Ancestor Junior had found the confidence for any of this.

At this moment, he no longer wished to trade words with Qin Yichen. He wanted to grind the latter’s confidence into dust entirely, to use overwhelming methods to reduce this Junior, who had dared provoke him, into rubble.

And at the same time, he wished to warn every person present of the consequences of offending him, Li Shan.

“Does Li Shan intend to use some unknown Junior to establish his dominance?” Said one of the old rivals below, watching Li Shan’s expression and shaking his head.

They understood that beneath Li Shan’s composed exterior, despite having been provoked, was not a broadminded person. Rather, he had already made up his mind to kill.

With so many experts gathered in Myriad Beasts City, to stand out from the crowd and attract the attention of distinguished figures was no simple matter. It appeared that Li Shan intended to ‘kill the chicken to warn the monkeys’, thus spreading his own name further.

This sort of thoughtfulness hiding beneath a brutish exterior proved Li Shan was not as foolish as he appeared on the surface.

“I once gave you a chance. You simply failed to grasp it yourself.” Li Shan murmured quietly, his gaze fixed on Qin Yichen, the cold smile on his face fading by degrees, replaced by something ferocious. A terrifying murderous aura spread slowly from his powerful frame.

An aura of this sort, without dozens to hundreds of lives on one’s hands, simply could not have taken shape.

Under this murderous aura, some who were standing slightly too near had their complexions turn instantly pale, and around the Blood Boulder Platform the crowd cleared out in a rush.

On the Blood Boulder Platform, there was no such thing as a protective barrier. Though in general, battles on the Blood Boulder Platform would not spill outward, in the event of being caught in the crossfire, those consequences were ones they had no desire to bear.

“Brat, when you reincarnate in your next life, remember to open your eyes properly. Some people are not for you to provoke.” Li Shan let out a cold snort, then abruptly threw a punch, and a surging torrent of Yuan Energy came howling forth, compressing the very air before him to its limit, like a cannonball, carrying the ferocious force enough to blast an Early Stage Martial Ancestor to pieces, hurtling straight toward Qin Yichen.

*Bang!* That bolt of compressed air struck Qin Yichen’s body head-on with stunning speed. The ground around him shattered instantly, sending clouds of dust billowing into the air.

Seeing this, more than a few people were already shaking their heads with a sigh. Had the fellow been blown to pieces without even managing a scream?

Not far away, Mei Ler’s slender hand tightened involuntarily beneath her sleeve. Had Qin Yichen been defeated, just like that?

    “Hmm?”

At this moment, beside the Blood Boulder Platform stood no more than a dozen or so figures, every one of them a powerhouse in the same class as Li Shan. In the instant the dust erupted, they had not sighed at all. On the contrary, they were looking rather puzzled.

“He—he doesn’t seem to be dead.”

And while many others were gloating, a voice of bewildered surprise suddenly rang out, prompting gaze after gaze to swivel over immediately.

For as the dust cleared, a figure gradually became visible within it, and those with particularly sharp eyes noted that not even his feet had shifted back by half an inch.

By all appearances, it was as though the strike enough to destroy an Early Stage Martial Ancestor had not caused him the slightest injury.

The sight of this left no small number of people feeling that something absurd had occurred.

    Had Li Shan shown mercy?

That was impossible. Li Shan’s fearsome reputation was this: if one punch would do, he would never waste more effort. And besides, this guy had dared provoke Li Shan before the eyes of countless people. There was absolutely no reason for him to have any intention of holding back.

*Phew.* Seeing this, Mei Ler quietly let out a breath she had been holding.

This fellow really was unlike anyone else. He had made her worry for nothing.

“Now this is getting interesting.” Below the stage, a playful smile tugged at the corner of Xiang Linzi’s mouth. It seemed this young man was not quite as hopeless as they had imagined.

Across from Qin Yichen, Li Shan could not help but narrow his eyes ever so slightly at the sight. Only now did he begin to understand that this young man who appeared to be no more than Early Stage Martial Ancestor seemed to have some quite remarkable abilities.

Under the watchful eyes of those around him, that slender figure stepped calmly out from among the shattered stones, and as his lips parted, a light, unhurried voice carrying a faint mockery drifted forth.

“Li Shan of the Giant Spirit Race, is this all you got?”

At those words, the entire crowd around the Blood Boulder Platform, which had been murmuring amongst themselves, fell suddenly quiet.

Gaze after gaze turned toward the platform with disbelief.

In the Myriad Beasts Domain, Li Shan was virtually a figure who walked wherever he pleased. In ordinary times, peers would scramble to avoid him at the mere sight, and yet here before them, a Junior had now provoked Li Shan again and again. Had they not seen it with their own eyes, even the telling of it would have been difficult to believe.

“Boy, you are simply courting death!” Li Shan had evidently recovered from his earlier surprise. Though he was startled that Qin Yichen had not retreated under his last blow, he did not believe that gave the latter any right to contend with him.

After all, originally, he had merely regarded Qin Yichen as a sharp-tongued Early Stage Martial Ancestor, and that last strike had been entirely casual, without anything close to his full power behind it.

However, it now seemed that having his casual blow deflected had given this fellow, who had already earned his enmity, cause to regard it as a source of pride.

“And what of it?” replied Qin Yichen, a faint arc curving at the corner of his mouth.

“Then this Senior will send you on your way!”

Li Shan let out a cold shout, and in an instant his gaze turned sharply fierce.
