At this very moment, Qin Yichen had no idea that great upheaval was taking place throughout the Silent Forest.

Many of the swamplands that had previously existed had suddenly vanished without cause. And this disappearance led numerous experts, who lacked a safe-passage map, to wander inadvertently into their midst.

In no time, it was impossible to say how many residual divine techniques got triggered by one unfortunate Soul after another, and the entire realm grew somewhat turbulent as a result.

Sensing the commotion stirred up by the triggered residual divine techniques, the faces of countless experts turned fearful. They trod with even greater caution, dreading that they themselves might accidentally trigger one.

After all, a single touch of those things meant certain death for them, even if they were Martial Ancestors.

The disturbance in Silent Forest also caught the attention of no small number of powerful figures.

Countless Saints at that moment were contemplating forcing their way into Silent Forest. After all, while the Silent Forest was extraordinarily dangerous, disturbances of this kind were rare, and there was every possibility that some exceedingly rare Treasure of Heaven and Earth had emerged into the world, causing this commotion.

Of course, it was also entirely possible that these were simply reckless youths who had entered for Lord Mo Sheng’s Succession Trial, foolishly triggering things through sheer ignorance and audacity.

Furthermore, on another count, the Silent Forest was the place Lord Mo Sheng had declared as the first stage of his trial. Even Saints would not dare disregard Lord Mo Sheng’s feelings.

To force their way in at such a time would very likely be taken as interference with the trial, risking offending Lord Mo Sheng.

No Race wished to offend a Supreme Expert whose final hour was near. Once such a figure went berserk, the consequences were such that even Top Tier Races would find them difficult to bear.

In the midst of this turbulence, the scent of blood had spread across nearly half of the Silent Forest, which served only to rouse the ferocity of the innumerable savage Demonic Beasts within. For a time, the roars of all manner of Demonic Beasts and the wretched screams of experts from every clan rang out intermittently throughout.

    ……

And at this very moment, as the dark orb dissipated, that chest plate appeared before Qin Yichen’s eyes and flew towards Master Lu Ban in a smooth arc.

It appeared that the passage of years and the erosion of black energy had stripped away much of the imposing magnificence that Qin Yichen had witnessed in those ancient visions, leaving in its place an air of plain, weathered antiquity.

Indeed, it looked rather like a discarded relic that had long since been put to rest.

Yet through that antiquated exterior, a faint but solid and weighty presence emanated from within, and this told Qin Yichen plainly that what he saw on the surface was nothing more than the marks of age. Having endured the erosion of black energy through untold eons, and emerging from the washing of the Spirit Vein without so much as a single crack, its defence was surely still at a level of tremendous and fearsome magnitude.

“Child, I have one more gift for you.”

As that ancient chest plate flew close, Master Lu Ban touched it with what seemed like deep nostalgia, then turned to Qin Yichen.

“A gift?” Qin Yichen was taken aback. In the very next moment, his pupils shrank sharply.

He saw that with a slight flourish of Master Lu Ban’s phantom hand, that chest plate gave a sudden shudder, then vanished from sight.

In the next instant, Qin Yichen sensed that the chest plate had appeared upon his own body. Yet what astonished him was this, the armour, which appeared thick and even somewhat cumbersome, felt, once worn, as though it carried not the slightest weight at all.

“Huh…?” Before Qin Yichen could even begin to marvel at this armour, he felt it give a faint tremble, and a scorching heat surged powerfully from within it.

*Boom!* Immediately following, Qin Yichen felt a torrent of searing hot energy charge out furiously from the chest plate, passing through every pore on the surface of his body and pouring madly inward.

Under this powerful influx of energy, Qin Yichen felt an unbearable, bloated pain spread through countless meridians within his body, as though at any moment this tremendous energy might split him asunder from the inside.

And just as Qin Yichen felt that his internal organs were on the verge of desiccating from that extreme heat, in accordance with Master Lu Ban’s movements, the Master Craftsman’s Hammer floating in mid-air suddenly released a gentle curtain of light that enveloped Qin Yichen within it.

Wrapped in this gentle force, Qin Yichen found that the unbearable scorching heat and the agonising bloating eased a little.

Within Qin Yichen’s body, his meridians were filled almost immediately by this vigorous energy.

He understood that the gift Master Lu Ban had spoken of was, in all likelihood, precisely this massive surge of energy. An energy of this magnitude had surely been accumulated through the endless ages during which the Myriad Dao Divine Armour chest plate had been purified by the Spirit Vein.

He hastened to drive the Supreme Tyrant Body Art with all his might, absorbing that vast and terrifying energy in a frenzy, and the energy poured into Qin Yichen’s body in a continuous, ceaseless stream.

He could feel it clearly; his cultivation was increasing at a frightening pace.

Generally speaking, cultivation was still something best achieved through one’s own diligent effort, as it was more solidly grounded. After all, it was not unheard of for experts to have their bodies torn apart by World Energy that arrived too suddenly and could not be controlled.

However, for Qin Yichen, this was not a problem in the slightest. His physical body’s toughness was something that found few rivals even at the Martial Ancestor Realm, and with that as his foundation, he naturally had no cause to worry about his physical body being torn apart.

Early Stage Martial Ancestor… Mid Stage Martial Ancestor…

In no more than a quarter of an hour, Qin Yichen’s cultivation had advanced to the Mid Stage Martial Ancestor Realm, and it showed no inclination to halt there whatsoever, continuing its frenzied ascent.

A moment more passed, and Qin Yichen felt the sensation of bloating and pain ease suddenly. A devouring force arose once more within his Dantian, and his cultivation had already broken through to the Late Stage Martial Ancestor Realm.

The vast energy was of extraordinary purity. Almost without need of refinement, it was absorbed with only the slightest processing.

At this moment, Qin Yichen experienced a feeling of power unlike any he had known before, the Yuan Energy within his body now two to three times greater in volume compared to before.

And at this point, that tremendous energy still showed no sign of stopping, as though it intended to push his cultivation an entire level higher.

“Enough! This is already enough!” Qin Yichen’s expression changed, and he called out loudly at once.

This surge of cultivation was, of course, enormously gratifying to him. After all, no one would refuse the sensation of growing stronger.

But Qin Yichen understood that although this was a gift from Master Lu Ban and would not leave him with any great lasting ill effects, this cultivation breakthrough had arrived without toil. It was not through his own effort, earned through hard training. Late Stage Martial Ancestor Realm, this was already the very limit of what he could handle.

Were it to increase further, he feared that when he came to wield his newfound strength, he would not be able to do so freely and that would be counterproductive instead.

Only by having complete mastery could one draw out one’s full combat potential.

“Oh?” It appeared that Master Lu Ban had not quite expected Qin Yichen to retain his reason at such a moment, and a look of mild surprise crossed his face. Then, the corners of his mouth curled into a smile of warm approval.

To resist even the temptation of this sudden surge in power, it seemed his Successor was no ordinary talent after all.
