“I’ve almost forgotten about this.” The middle-aged man waved his hand and said emotionlessly, “Since we’ve joined the Righteous Alliance, we can’t protect you for now. Although this Great Realm of yours is weak, some people will protect you when you join the Righteous Alliance.”

Usually, he wouldn’t care about whether a Great Realm was at risk of destruction.

However, since they had joined the Righteous Alliance, they had to stick to its rules. When they saw dark beings harassing any Great Realm, they had to get rid of them.

“Yes, Senior. I’ll give an order so that everyone will migrate from this Great Realm.” The King solemnly said. Those behind him were so grateful that they had the urge to kneel.

If not for the help of those from the Waning Moon Mountain, there would’ve been countless corpses on the floor. All of them would have died.

Nevertheless, the situation in this Great Realm was terrible. Many places had been affected by the black mist. It was desolate in those places and no vitality was left.

Cities, Sects, Kingdoms, mountains, and forests had been ruined. The ground had broken apart, rivers had dried up, and the ocean had evaporated. Only black mist that had not dissipated still hovered around the place like a plague.

The middle-aged man then looked at the woman in a blue dress and said, “Lan Xin, those dark beings have retreated too quickly. I’m worried they have some kind of plan that we’re not aware of. Someone must have secretly given orders. Moreover, the big fish I had originally detected has suddenly fled. That person might have received an order to retreat as well. I’m worried we are being baited.”

“During this period, many small teams from the Righteous Alliance have destroyed many dark beings. Perhaps their actions have caught the attention of some of their true experts. This training session is over. All of you should return to the Waning Moon Mountain. I’ll go and gather more information.”

The woman in a blue dress was shocked and worried. She could not help but say, “Martial Uncle Zhou, you’re indeed strong. But, if things are just like what you’ve speculated, and they have some grand scheme, I’m worried you’ll fall into a trap if you go gather information on your own.”

The middle-aged man shook his head. “I’m only going to gather information. I won’t do anything risky. You look after these Disciples. Once I’m done, I’ll join up with all of you.” With that, he stepped on his sword and turned into a ray of light before disappearing into the distance.

The woman in a blue dress named Lan Xin looked helpless and worried.

This Martial Uncle Zhou was called Zhou Tianyu. This time, he was not obliged to lead the group as they ventured into the outside world to train while dealing with those dark beings.

Lan Xin’s Master was supposed to lead the team. However, she had no choice but to leave the Sect to handle some miscellaneous manners, which was why Zhou Tianyu willingly took over the job.

If Zhou Tianyu fell into danger, Lan Xin would feel guilty for all her life. After all, Zhou Tianyu took extremely good care of them.

Although he was doing this to pursue Lan Xin’s Master, in hope to become her Dao Partner, he still offered them a lot of help.

Sadly, her Master was focused on pursuing the Dao and had no intention of becoming anyone’s Dao Partner. As such, she had turned down many suitors.

“Martial Uncle Zhou, you’d better give up…” Lan Xin sighed almost imperceptibly. She had persuaded her Master, but she knew her temperament well. Once her Master made a decision, she would not change her mind.

Regardless of how relentless Zhou Tianyu was, her Master’s Dao Heart would never be swayed.

While many thoughts turned over in Lan Xin’s mind, the sounds of countless divine swords clanging were heard coming from the void.

In the distance, the white-clothed young woman with an ancient sword on her back opened her eyes.

Innumerable sword lights seemed to be intertwined behind her clear gaze. She was like a divine sword that had been unsheathed while carrying a penetrating sword aura.

Her skin was flawless and her facial features were delicate. Since she could hardly conceal her excitement, it seemed that she had gained a lot of benefits from her new insights.

“Congratulations on your enlightenment, Junior Sister Xianer. Your cultivation in the Sword Dao has become much stronger. I suppose you’ll be able to refine the Sword Dao True Essence, and get ready for another breakthrough soon.” Lan Xin came to her senses and congratulated her with a smile.

The white-clothed young woman snapped back to reality. She quickly concealed her elation and replied, “Thanks, Senior Sister Lan Xin. I was merely lucky. I didn’t expect to gain some insights from Elder Zhou’s sword.”

Her silky hair had been tied into a ponytail with a red band. Some strands of her hair hung loose on her forehead, making her face look even more alluring. Her face was around the size of a palm.

Lan Xin said with a smile, “Don’t be overly humble, Junior Sister Xianer. It’s not luck; it’s because you have great comprehension. You’re the only one among so many Disciples to gain some insights and attain benefits.”

“Thanks for your compliment, Senior Sister Lan Xin.” The white-clothed young woman was bashful because of those kind words. She hung her head low as her fair face slightly reddened.

Nevertheless, her gaze which was as clear as a lake was unusually calm. She seemed to be meditative.

Lan Xin smiled. She was aware that the white-clothed young woman was humble and bashful, so she was not surprised and stopped speaking further.

However, the smile on her face disappeared not long after that. She frowned and swept a glance over those young men and women.

“So what if she’s talented? She’s come into contact with a jinx. Anyone who forms a karmic connection with her will be truly unlucky.”

“Only the kind-hearted Senior Sister Lan Xin will speak to her.”

“That’s right. That’s the reason the Sect Master never accepted a talented person like her to be his Disciple. She’s only an ordinary Disciple in the Waning Moon Mountain.”

“Although she’s talented, she’ll never reach the Dao Realm without the support of our resources and the inheritance of our techniques. Moreover, she’s come into contact with that jinx so she might die at any moment.”

These young men and women could hardly conceal their disdain. Some were jealous and vicious.

They did not lower their voices when they spoke, nor did they care how the white-clothed young woman would react when she heard their conversation.

On the other hand, it seemed like the white-clothed young woman was used to it. With her head hung low, she was still calm and collected as though she did not hear what they had said.

With a dark expression, Lan Xin chastised them, “Silence! You’re here to train, not to make fun of others. If you’re half as capable as Junior Sister Xianer, the Seniors of our Sect wouldn’t have to be so worried.”

Upon seeing that Lan Xin seemed furious, these young men and women hurriedly kept their mouths shut. Still, some pursed their lips with disdain.

Lan Xin turned to look at the white-clothed young woman and said apologetically, “Ignore them, Junior Sister Xianer. They’re just jealous of you.”

The white-clothed young woman shook her head. “Thanks, Senior Sister Lan Xin. I don’t really care about it.”

In the past, she would immediately blow her top and unsheathe her sword. But now, she had become more mature and learned to be patient.

The Boundless Expanse was unlike the Prosperous Dao True World. No one would protect her from harm. She had to be careful and consider many things before taking any action.

    Lan Xin sighed almost imperceptibly.

These young men and women came from different Forces. Their identities were noble and the True Worlds behind them were strong.

If not for the fact that she was a Senior Sister, these people would not show her any respect either.

Just like her past self, the white-clothed young woman before her eyes came from a Nascent True World.

Because she had a Fortuitous Encounter, she managed to join the Waning Moon Mountain. However, her situation was awkward as she was not popular among the ordinary Disciples and Elders.

Considering her aptitude, if not for the fact that she had come into contact with a jinx, the Sect Master would’ve taken her on as a Direct Disciple.

It was such a shame that her background had become a hindrance to her future.

“Let’s go. Since Martial Uncle Zhou has said so, we should return to the Waning Moon Mountain.” Lan Xin snapped back to reality and waved her hand. A glowing flying boat surrounded by Runes appeared and expanded into a huge vessel in the void.

She leapt onto it, followed by the other Disciples. Then, they quickly left the place.

Although it was called the Waning Moon Mountain, it was not really a mountain. Instead, it was a boundless land, though it was not an independent True World. It was more like an unconventional Force.

It was created by Grand Spiritual Masters in ancient times using rare Dao Earth, Divine Gold, and fragments of True Worlds.

It was even sturdier than most Ancient True Worlds. It had the World Principles of its own. All sorts of Great Daos and Divine World Principles intertwined with one another, with life evolving endlessly. The Sun and the Moon rose and sank in turn. Tides rose and ebbed as it stood for countless years.

The Sect in the Waning Moon Mountain was called the Waning Moon Sect, which was the Sect Lan Xin and the others were in.

It was an Immortal Force with might greater than that of an average Supreme True World. They had a number of Ancestral Dao Realm experts.

As the jade-like flying boat traversed across the Spacetime portal, Lan Xin and the others, who had been navigating through the Boundless Expanse for several days, finally passed through the Ancient Array outside the Waning Moon Mountain and returned.

The mountains were ancient and magnificent. Meandering rivers that looked like True Dragons passed through the entire land.

The world was full of vitality. The Mist of Chaos permeated the place, and light filled the air. Even the soil was glowing as it had been nurtured by Chaos Energy. Fragrant celestial herbs hung from the cliffs.

Some mountains were formed from purple rocks, splendid beyond belief. The cliffs were smooth. The flatland was covered in grass and rare herbs were fully grown. The waterfalls were spectacular and Celestial Mist permeated the place. Beasts roamed the forests and birds flew across the sky. Ancient herbs exuded a unique aroma.

To any cultivator, this was a place they longed to live in. It was covered in endless abstrusities.

In the depths of the Waning Moon Mountain were a set of impressive palaces. Like the indestructible Heavenly Court, they hovered in the sky and were engulfed in clouds.

There did not seem to be an end to those celestial islands and mountains. They were propped up in the void, hovering above all living beings.

“I’ll return to the Purple Cloud Peak first.”

Upon returning to the Waning Moon Mountain, Lan Xin parted ways with those young Disciples. After keeping the flying boat, she took a look at the white-clothed young woman, who had been getting some rest with her eyes closed in the corner. Then, she sighed.

If not for the fact that her Master was unwilling to take on new Disciples, she would’ve persuaded her Master to accept Xianer.

The Waning Moon Mountain was vast, but there were no other Forces except for the Waning Moon Sect.

Apart from some ancient cities, most mountains and lakes were ideal places to cultivate.

Many Disciples of the Waning Moon Mountain loved staying in places where Spiritual Energy was aplenty. They would build their private Supreme Caves there.

“I’m finally back.” After leaving the flying boat, the white-clothed young woman turned into a ray of light and returned to the Supreme Cave she had built.

Although the place was remote, it was serene. A purple glow and a white mist covered the mountain.

There was a waterfall in the distance that was falling from sky. It was as though it came from the universe.

Certainly, the main reason she had chosen to stay in this place was that no one would disturb her.

Not far away from the Supreme Cave, there was an abandoned site which used to be an ancient battlefield, where broken weapons and rotten corpses could still be found.

Every night, icy auras would be felt, and all sorts of terrifying scenes would appear. It was an area no one dared to approach.

The person that everyone in the Waning Moon Sect regarded as a jinx used to stay in this area and wander around the ruins all day.

Even the powerful Elders of the Waning Moon Sect were not willing to step into this place.

Naturally, the white-clothed young woman was glad that she had found this wonderful place where she would not be disturbed.

She was not afraid of this so-called ‘jinx’ that everyone in the Waning Moon Sect tried their best to avoid. After all, it was that person who saved her from a ferocious beast in the Boundless Expanse and brought her to this place in the past.

    “You’re finally back, Xianer…”

The moment the white-clothed young woman unlocked the restriction of the Supreme Cave, a red figure approached her at the speed of lightning.

However, before the creature could go near her, she disdainfully slapped it away.

“I told you to look after the Supreme Cave. Where is the fruit on the Dragon Peach Tree outside the cave?” The white-clothed young woman donned a dark expression and she gritted her pearl-like teeth. It seemed like she was furious.

“I had estimated that the fruit should be ripe when I returned. But now, it’s nowhere to be seen.” Her voice was malicious and her gaze was murderous. She questioned, “Tell me, where’s the fruit?”

Inside the cave, a red bird meekly fluttered its wings. Its slightly childish voice was filled with embarrassment.

“I-I don’t know either… I only took a nap. When I awakened, I realised the fruit outside the Supreme Cave was missing. Maybe some stray dog had taken it away. Why don’t you give me some time to search around for it?”

The white-clothed young woman glowered at it. Then, she inelegantly rolled up her sleeves, revealing her fair arms as she snapped. “I’ll have roasted bird tonight.”

Then, she was ready to grab the red bird and pluck its feathers.

“No! Stop! Don’t do this! Xianer. I only ate one fruit. Why are you mad? I’ll just spit out the core…”

“Hey! Stop it! I don’t have a lot of feathers to begin with. I’ll be bald if you keep plucking out my feathers. We’ve been friends for years. Is a fruit more important than our friendship? How stingy and petty…”

The red bird fluttered its wings and avoided the woman, causing some of its feathers to fall to the ground.

On the other hand, the white-clothed young woman was incensed. It seemed that she was heartbroken because her fruit was gone.

Then, she watched as the red bird spat out a half-digested fruit which still carried the core. She gritted her teeth with frustration.

“The fruit smelled too good, alright. It seduced me. Don’t be mad, Xianer. I’ve only made a mistake that every bird would make. There are many valuable things in the Waning Moon Sect. I’ll just steal something for you.” The red bird was embarrassed as it tried to make it up to the woman.

The white-clothed young woman’s eyes brightened when she heard that. Then, she shot the red bird a look and shook her head dejectedly.

“Forget it. I don’t want to get into trouble.”

The red bird patted its chest. “Don’t worry. Even if I get caught, I’ll never expose you.”

The white-clothed young woman ignored the bird and glanced at the half-digested fruit on the floor, feeling heartbroken.

She had intended to eat the fruit when she returned, but it was stolen by this damn bird.

Suddenly, she heard someone faintly moaning from the depths of the Supreme Cave. She came to her senses while vexed.

“It’s the person I saved at that time. Is she waking up?” She was startled for a moment before a look of curiosity appeared on her face. She secretly fished out an Ancient Rune from her storage space and held it in her hand. Then, she rose to her feet and walked into the depths of the Supreme Cave.

The red bird fluttered its wings and followed her. It said curiously, “She was badly injured and her vitality was mostly gone. I didn’t expect her to survive. I guess she’s waking up. What a terrifying woman.”

In the depths of the Supreme Cave, an alluring white-clothed woman lay on a white jade bed. Her clothes were still stained with blood. Although it had dried up, it still exuded a horrifying aura. It was difficult for anyone to approach her.

As she breathed, the Mist of Chaos whirled around her. It was intermittently visible.
