Chapter 1112, Pill
by SilavinTranslator: Silavin
Under a host of peculiar gazes, Li Shan finally left. Qin Yichen, with Mei Ler in tow, checked into the final upper room of the Vast Cloud Wine House.
More than a few people felt a fair measure of contempt for Qin Yichen’s conduct.
After all, when he was standing against Li Shan, nearly everyone had assumed he had some real foundation beneath him. Who would have known he had merely been relying on the rules of Myriad Beasts City, knowing that Li Shan would not dare to act, and indulging in nothing more than a moment’s verbal satisfaction.
After Li Shan and Qin Yichen had each departed, quite a few people quietly slipped out of the inn as well.
It was not often that Li Shan came off the worse in a confrontation. This time, inside the Vast Cloud Wine House, he had been provoked by some nameless newcomer of all people.
Word of this would spread across the whole of Myriad Beasts City in an extremely short span of time.
After all, in a place where fighting was forbidden, such an interesting incident was genuinely rare.
Of course, among the gossip, more than a few people quietly speculated whether this newcomer would show up at the Blood Boulder Platform.
…
“Sir, you were too reckless just now.”
In the upper room of the Vast Cloud Wine House, Mei Ler finally spoke softly to Qin Yichen.
Going out of one’s way to offend Li Shan of the Giant Spirit Race over a single room was the sort of thing that, had one not witnessed it with one’s own eyes, would have seemed too absurd to believe.
Qin Yichen simply smiled and shook his head, without adding anything further.
He had no particular desire to court trouble, but allowing people to bully and humiliate him without the slightest resistance was simply not his way.
And besides, here, he did not have the slightest concern. Even if he left the Myriad Beasts Domain and faced the pursuit of the Giant Spirit Race, he was not without means to deal with that. At worst, one person would flee to the ends of the earth.
“Sir, please, whatever you do, do not go to that Blood Boulder Platform.”
The thin veil across Mei Ler’s face remained in place, yet from the slight furrow of her brow, it was plain enough that she, too, was anxious.
“So long as you are within the Myriad Beasts Domain, no matter how furious Li Shan gets, he will not dare to make a move against you…”
“Why shouldn’t I go?”
In the midst of Mei Ler’s murmuring, Qin Yichen’s voice suddenly cut across hers.
Hearing this, Mei Ler was visibly taken aback. Li Shan was nothing like those opponents they had encountered before. He was a genuine Mid Stage Martial Ancestor, and the number of Late Stage Martial Ancestors who had died at his hands was by no means small.
“Have a look at these Pills.”
Qin Yichen gave a light laugh and turned his palm over, whereupon five small jade bottles appeared on the surface of the table.
“Pills?” Mei Ler was puzzled. Was this what Qin Yichen had meant earlier when he had spoken to her?
every Race had Pills of one kind or another, and because of the differences in Physique, the various Pills differed considerably across Races.
On this continent, aside from the Pills of the Elf Race, which could extend one’s lifespan and which enjoyed a splendid reputation, the broader Pill markets of the other Races were, in truth, a rather sorry sight.
“Oh?”
The moment she opened the first jade bottle, Mei Ler let out a soft sound, and a trace of surprise flickered across her beautiful eyes.
As a plump, smooth Pill tumbled out, the entire room was immediately filled with a Pill fragrance that made the mind snap alert.
Feeling that all-pervasive Pill Fragrance, Mei Ler quickly put the Pill back and opened another bottle.
And each bottle’s Pills left Mei Ler more astonished than the last. Though she had not taken any, from the Pill Fragrance alone she could already sense that these Pills appeared to have been tailor-made for her Charming Fox Race, their efficacy absolutely no less than the unique Pills produced by their own Race, and in terms of colour and smoothness, they actually seemed to be better that those made from her own people.
“Sir, these Pills…”
Mei Ler was not quite sure what to make of this. The Pills were certainly impressive, yet that did not mean they could be sold. After all, other Races were not the Charming Fox Race.
“Don’t worry. So long as a cultivator has a Humanoid Form, these Pills are effective for all of them. Their effect will actually be better than whatever Pills their own Race produces.”
Qin Yichen smiled, and said, “Tomorrow, you may take them out to try.”
“What!?” Hearing this, something in Mei Ler’s chest sharply lurched.
[Effective for any cultivator who has a Humanoid Form, regardless of which Race they came from? How could such a preposterous Pill possibly exist?]
She was well aware that, for Races like the Charming Fox Race, many aspects of knowledge about Pill effects on them remained blank. For them, there were entire categories that simply did not yet exist.
And the Pills Qin Yichen had just produced, each of them had different effects, and Mei Ler had even noticed with some sharpness that the effects of these Pills appeared to go beyond what she understood a single type to be. Each Pill seems to carry several different effects within it.
Qin Yichen was not in the least surprised by Mei Ler’s shock.
The Human Race, after all, had a Physique that was closest to Heaven. His Pills were the Pills of the Human Race.
On this continent, with countless powerful cultivators, once they had attained sufficient strength, would take on Humanoid Form. Though they differed from the Human Race in no small number of ways, so long as one possessed a Humanoid Form, his Pills would be effective on them.
Moreover, the Human Race’s level of attainment in the field of Pills was fully capable of standing alongside the Top Tier Races on the continent.
And his Compound Pills were something even the most elites could not begin to approach.
And so, Qin Yichen had full confidence that, relying on Mei Ler’s business acumen, carving out a business empire on the continent was not going to be too difficult.
After this, Qin Yichen gave Mei Ler a simple introduction to the effects of the several types of Pills he had brought out. Though he had done his utmost to keep his description modest and understated, the latter was still thoroughly, profoundly shocked.
After all, the concept of the Compound Pill was something that, beyond the Human Race, who had already begun to accept it, had absolutely never been heard of anywhere on the continent.
“Well?” Looking at Mei Ler, still in the midst of her shock, Qin Yichen waited a good while before finally asking.
“If these Pills are effective, they will be pursued and coveted by countless Races without question!”
Hearing Qin Yichen’s voice, Mei Ler came back to herself. Her beautiful eyes suddenly brimmed with deep and surging excitement.
She could barely begin to imagine what sort of tremor this kind of Pill would send through the entire continent, if it truly performed as Qin Yichen described.
With these Pills, one could really build an entire business empire.
“You may ask those you trust to help. If you establish a business, the name will be… the Soaring Joy Chamber of Commerce.”
Qin Yichen gave a nod and said, slowly and deliberately.
This was also one of the reasons he had come to Myriad Beasts City. Here, fighting was forbidden. Even with countless eyes coveting what he had, there was no need to worry about anyone simply seizing it by force.
And the Blood Boulder Platform that Li Shan had mentioned, that place could serve as the very starting point where these Pills made their first appearance before the world.
So how could he possibly refuse what Li Shan had proposed?
“Get some rest. Come with me to the Blood Boulder Platform tomorrow.”
Qin Yichen reclined in the chair draped with beast hide, his eyes drifting slowly shut as he feigned sleep.
“But…” Hearing this, Mei Ler only then realised that the two of them had but one room between them.
As though something had just occurred to her, a sudden, vivid crimson spread across Mei Ler’s pretty face.
