Gradually, rules were formed, the Great Dao was born, and Heaven and Earth got divided. There were also day and night as well as four seasons.

Yin and Yang were born, and the Boundless Expanse finally came into existence. Only then were the two of them, who were in a life-and-death battle, separated.

The division of Heaven and Earth and the birth of Boundless Expanse marked the start of the Post-Heaven Era. It could also be said to be the beginning.

Because of the existence of the Boundless Expanse, the Source Realm, which people of future generations called the Land of Truth, appeared.

For this reason, many Races of the Pre-Heaven Era were destroyed. Countless Pre-Heaven Beings were captured or killed by the three mysterious beings from the Source Realm, whose names could not be mentioned.

They were the ones who destroyed and ended the Pre-Heaven Era.

These memories came from Ji Hanjing’s Bloodline Inheritance. Her Father was a Pre-Heaven Being. Every Pre-Heaven Being had their fragments of memories and the inheritance of Great Dao. These were branded in their Bloodlines. They were born with such knowledge.

Although the Pre-Heaven Era had ended, many Pre-Heaven Beings had used all sorts of ways to escape from the calamity. They went on to live through the following eras.

Since then, they had assumed different identities and started producing offspring.

The Emperor of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court, who was also a Great Sage called the Middle Monarch, was one such Pre-Heaven Being.

Even until now, many Pre-Heaven Beings had been hiding in various universes, using all sorts of ways to hide themselves.

Ji Hanjing believed that the culprit was her Father’s nemesis, a being known as the Master of Yun.

The destruction of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court, the death of her Father, and the demise of the Precious Light Celestial Dynasty had everything to do with the Master of Yun.

“Now, I just want to know who that baby I saw in the River of Time is. I don’t think he’s an ordinary person. An ordinary person wouldn’t be able to gnaw at my Younger Sister’s mind and gradually devour her…” Ji Hanjing said solemnly.

When she was the ruler of the Precious Light Celestial Dynasty, her Younger Sister fell in love with an ordinary cultivator.

Although she was not satisfied with the man’s power and background, she did not separate the two of them.

During that period, she spent most of her time and energy trying to get through the Great Purge.

Therefore, she paid little attention to the life between her Younger Sister and her Husband. It was not until a long time later that she found out that her Younger Sister’s Husband had already passed away several years before. Only her Younger Sister and her two children were still alive.

In the past, she never doubted the man’s identity. Now, it seemed that the man’s identity was indeed suspicious. Be it his encounter with her Younger Sister or his death at a later time, everything was shrouded in mystery.

Who on earth was he? Where did their two children go in the end? How was her Younger Sister’s mind devoured? How did she acquire the method to craft a Civilisation Supreme Treasure?

Perhaps an invisible web had descended upon her since the beginning. She had been oblivious the entire time.

“If you want to know, you have to look into it yourself.” Gu Changge shook his head and his gaze was meditative. He had no intention of revealing too much information to Ji Hanjing at this point.

That was what piqued his interest. The Ardent Ruins Cave Master had changed countless identities since ancient times. There were many marked he had left behind in the River of Time.

He did not just leave behind some trump cards.

Instead, he planned to make arrangements from the other end of the River of Time. He intended to refine ancient history, including everything in the future.

If the Ardent Ruins Cave Master was not just puppet of a higher being, the goal he was trying to achieve could be said to be truly massive.

Regardless, his ambition was laughable in the eyes of Gu Changge.

If the entire Boundless Expanse was likened to an orchard, he was merely trying to pick a ripe fruit.

Perhaps he felt that a Great Purge happened because the fruits were ripe and those from the Land of Truth wanted to pick them.

If he ate one of the fruits, he would achieve Transcendence, thus becoming a living being of a different level of life.

But this was a misunderstanding. A worm on a tree would not become a Human by eating its fruits.

It was an immutable rule that the fruits would ripen when the time came. Then, some people would come and get them.

When a worm on the tree saw this, it would naturally think that Humans became strong because they ate fruits.

Therefore, as long as it ate the same fruit, it would also become strong and even transform into a Human.

In the past, Gu Changge would find it hard to understand this kind of idea. However, after he spent some time living and thinking as a Human, he finally understood why some people were so eager to breakthrough their limitations.

Although he was already aware of the plans of the Ardent Ruins Cave Master, he had no intention of stopping him.

From the looks of it, everything the Ardent Ruins Cave Master had been doing wasn’t a secret to any truly powerful being. In other words, all his plans were as simple as child’s play.

Now, what Gu Changge had to do was to expand the Heavenslayers Alliance naturally and then devour the so-called Righteous Alliance. Then, he would be able to rule over the entire Boundless Expanse.

Once that happens, some beings behind the scenes would grow impatient and their whereabouts would be exposed.

As for the strife between the Heaven Legion and the Eight Legions, it was no different from a petty fight in Gu Changge’s eyes.

Considering how strong he was now; he could easily uncover everything. Nothing could be hidden from him.

All the plots against him were useless unless the opponent was of the same plane of existence as him.

Any timeline of the past, the present, and the future could be easily destroyed by him with only a flash of thought. Even if there was an unexpected flaw in his understanding, he could relaunch the timeline and destroy or correct such flaws.

Therefore, he was not interested in finding out the plots against him.

The only thing he could do was wait and see if there was anything that would pique his interest while he was at it. That was all.

“I understand.” Ji Hanjing didn’t keep probing him.

She had been by Gu Changge’s side for a long time, so she knew that it was pointless to ask him more questions if he was not willing to speak.

Gu Changge nodded and swept the dried leaves away from the chessboard.

As the dried leaves disappeared, a vague scene suddenly appeared above the chessboard.

A confused Ji Hanjing shifted her attention to it.

“The Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty was established hundreds of eras ago. This wasn’t its name in the beginning. Instead, it was called the Great Yang Ancient Dynasty. It was on good terms with the Imperial South Kingdom and was powerful.”

“The last ruler of the Great Yang Ancient Dynasty was named Emperor Yang. According to the historical records of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty, Emperor Yang was brutal, incompetent, and licentious. That was why he was the last Emperor.”

“During his tenure, he loved killing innocents, torturing his citizens, and sleeping with women. Various people had suffered miserably. At that time, the Father of Jiang Yun was a nobleman of a different surname in the Great Yang Ancient Dynasty. He inherited Royal Bloodline from his Ancestors. Because he was displeased with Emperor Yang’s brutality, he rebelled against him and eventually died on Nine Yin Mountain.

“Jiang Yun inherited his Father’s ambition. Since he had the Heavens’ acknowledgement, he had the help of some divine soldiers. With the assistance of his Father’s subordinates, he went on to collaborate with various Forces and eventually stormed into the capital of the Kingdom. Emperor Yang took his life in the hall.

“That was where the last bit of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court’s destiny ended.” Gu Changge shook his head.

Ji Hanjing couldn’t help but say, “However, I can feel that my Younger Sister’s Bloodline still lingers in this world.”

Gu Changge suddenly smiled and said, “I’m telling you all this to let you know that you can find all your answers in the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. If you want to get your revenge, the only power you can use is in the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. You have to come up with a way to make use of that power. Otherwise, this game will be boring.”

Ji Hanjing glanced at him while looking hesitant. Seeing that he ignored her, she whispered, “I’ll take my leave, then.”

Gu Changge nodded in silence while staring fixedly at the chessboard.

He had helped her immensely by pointing out the direction for her. If she still couldn’t achieve her goal, she had to consider whether she had become an imbecile after being confined for too long.

    …

Several days later, a Divine Light appeared at the site where the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court used to be. A Chaotic Light covered skies. Half of the universe was engulfed in celestial rain.

As the Divine Sounds of the Great Dao were heard, some cultivators discovered a fissure leading to a holy land.

Divine light beamed out of it. All sorts of ancient weapons and divine pills continuously erupted from the fissure. It was literally raining opportunities.

Upon learning the news, countless people scrambled to get their hands on these opportunities.

Some Dao Realm experts appeared and snatched some divine items. They were pleasantly surprised to discover that those divine items could be directly used by them.

The fissure expanded every day. All the divine items coming out of it were precious. There were even materials for making Artifacts that even Dao Realm experts coveted.

Apart from that, there were also all sorts of ancient stone tablets that recorded various kinds of ancient techniques.

A cultivator even acquired a bottle of precious divine pills. When he opened the lid, the aroma of medicine permeated a large area, allowing many cultivators to feel refreshed. Their insights and their cultivation improved significantly just from the smell.

Soon enough, various Forces could no longer stay put. They sent some of their experts to that site, to collect those divine items.

Many speculated that this was where the treasury of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court was located.

It was buried in the River of Time following the demise of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court. It was not until an opportunity came that it saw the light of its opening again.

The Flourishing Light Ancestral Court used to be a juggernaut that ruled over many True Worlds. When it was at the peak of its power, all Forces had to pay tributes to it. Its status and might could not be underestimated

No one knew how many divine items there were in its treasury.

The news spread quickly and caused a commotion in various places. More Forces immediately sent their experts there.

Various Forces in the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty were tempted as well. That was because the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court’s site was located in the Flourishing Light Ancient Territory, which was near the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty.

Moreover, there was a deep connection between the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty and the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court.

Recently, rumours had it that the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court was the antecedent of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty.

The Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty was built on the foundation of the destroyed Flourishing Light Ancestral Court. The Royal Family of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty were Descendants of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court. Therefore, the treasury of the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court supposedly belonged to the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty.

This kind of statement naturally aroused the displeasure of various Forces.

Currently, anyone could get their hands on such treasures as long as they were capable of doing so. They could not possibly allow the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty to monopolise it all. Although the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty was strong, they definitely could not handle the wrath of so many people.

In just a few days, ancient battleships and chariots traversed across universes and arrived at the Flourishing Light Ancient Territory.

Some people noticed that the fissure had become much bigger. It became almost as massive as a chasm in just a few days.

Boundless light beamed from it, carrying all sorts of strange sights. Intricate and magnificent ancient palaces were shown.

The Mist of Chaos spread in all directions like breath, carrying pulses of powerful life energy. Cultivators began to suspect that what lay in the depths of the fissure was not a treasury, it was an ancient living being, and the expanding and ebbing mist was the undulation of its Life Force, where it could awaken at any moment.

The suspicion was not enough to kill their greed though. When others were not looking, they slipped into the fissure one by one. No one knew what happened inside. They only heard shrieks, and then blood shot into the sky and dyed the cliffs red.

Every last one of them was killed.

Experts from various Forces froze where they stood. Even Dao Realm experts dared not move. Their Souls were trembling.

News of the Flourishing Light Ancient Territory spread rapidly, drawing attention from across the Boundless Expanse. After much deliberation, the various Forces agreed to join hands, whatever divine items they found would be shared. They were unwilling to abandon the treasury.

Together they sent their most powerful experts into the fissure, enduring the tremendous pressure, while countless others watched from outside.

Even the Royal Family of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty had arrived, its Elders and experts swelled the crowd further.

Then an immense aura erupted from the fissure, as though a supreme being had awakened. Blood dyed the sky red. Boundless light burst outward. Every cultivator who had ventured inside was sent flying.

Among the surging red, those with sharp eyes spotted it: an enormous, translucent Dao Source launching itself out of the fissure, cracked and on the verge of shattering. Inside it was a woman. She was ancient, mysterious, with dark hair loose around her shoulders. She radiated a primordial and intimidating aura.

Every living being present, regardless of their cultivation level, was rooted to the spot. Their Souls trembled. Their knees hit the ground.

She hovered there with her eyes closed, like an Empress who ruled over the universe. She was so mighty that Heaven and Earth itself seemed unable to contain her. She did not move, did not speak. Yet it was understood, wordlessly, that a single finger from her could kill every last one of them.

The moment news spread across the True Worlds and Civilisations of the Boundless Expanse, it caused a ruckus. Everyone speculated her identity, concluding she must be the Empress from the Flourishing Light Ancestral Court.

Deeply tied to her, the Royal Family Elders of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty immediately knelt and pressed their foreheads to the floor, calling her the Great Ancestor, imploring her to come to their Dynasty when she awakened.

Meanwhile, war had broken out on the border between the Heavenslayers Alliance and the Righteous Alliance.

“What is the meaning of this? Your Alliance has invaded our territory repeatedly. Leave at once!”

A general clad in steel armour levelled the question coldly across the void. Two armies faced each other in the boundless, frigid universe, separated by the River of Chaos, their armour and weapons gleaming.

“All lands in the world belong to no one.” A tall, muscular figure with green wings sneered back. “Who says this territory is yours? There is nowhere in the world the Heavenslayers Alliance cannot go.”
