Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao tried to escape, but the horrifying force descended and pinned him there like an enormous mountain.

His nine pairs of wings flapped and stirred up a terrifying storm. However, the hand still descended while carrying a power that could destroy everything. It was as if the hand was going to shatter the world.

No attempt was useful in the face of an immense power like this.

Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao was unable to escape or resist. Now, he could not even move a muscle.

Spacetime was collapsing. Black holes started appearing around him.

The hand emerged from an unknown dimension from behind the Moon and directly extended towards Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao. It was a brutal and simple attack.

Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao, whose figure was so enormous that this world almost could not accommodate it, seemed insignificant compared to this hand. He was continuously squeezed as his figure shrank.

His gaze was full of fear as he flapped his nine pairs of wings to stir up a destructive power.

Massive Dao Storms came together and stuck the large hand as Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao attempted to break free.

Nevertheless, all his efforts were futile. Tremendous energy exuded from the hand. Any resistance was as fragile as bubbles.

“No!” Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao growled despondently for the last time. He could not believe what was happening.

He had fully inherited the Divinity of the previous Deity Jiu Ao. Furthermore, he had achieved an even greater height. He was among one of the most powerful in the Divine Dao System. How was it possible that he would lose his life here?

He was an Ancestral Deity, not some insignificant bug!

From the depths of the sky, the hand descended slowly like it was from Heaven. It grabbed Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao and squeezed him as blood streamed down from the gap of its fingers.

All of them could hear the sounds of bones cracking. Boundless light burst as wisps of blood spurted out and turned into a terrifying blood mist.

The blood mist too exploded and the blood light engulfed the entire sky, where even the Moon was dyed red with blood.

The sight was both eerie and terrifying. The Spacetime Sea seemed to have been frozen by the chilly air.

All the Ancestral Deities there were too shocked for words. They quickly moved back to avoid the massive hand.

They trembled with fear. They felt their backs turning cold. The two Ancestral Deities, who had tried to snatch that part of that Divine Source, were still reeling from the fear.

They could no longer feel the aura of Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao coming from the bloodied hand.

He had lost his life just like that, and even his Divinity had pulverised into dust. One more Ancestral Deity disappeared from the Boundless Expanse just like this.

The Moon was increasingly dim. After catching Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao, the hand slowly and silently retracted.

However, the immense power still caused Spacetime to tremble, like a thin piece of paper. It seemed like Spacetime would be shattered if he exerted more force on his hand.

The entire area went silent. Ancestral Deities who had survived completely lost all colour. They felt their back turn completely cold.

“Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao had inherited his Divinity. He was just as powerful as we are. How could he die off so easily?” Ancestral Deity Chu Wu could hardly conceal his fear and disbelief. Deities like them had been alive for countless years, but it was their first time feeling as insignificant as ants.

If they got into a life-and-death battle, he could not say for certain he could defeat Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao.

But just now, Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao had lost his life. He was completely annihilated.

Did such a terrifying being even exist in the Boundless Expanse? The person was significantly more powerful than Ancestral Deities, so there was no way he was not famous.

Ancestral Deity Tai Su was solemn and wary as he stared fixedly at the hand that was about to disappear.

[Is he the angler behind the scenes? He is indeed strong. It is no wonder Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan gave up one arm just to escape. He’s literally fishing for Ancestral Deities. Powerful beings like us are no different from ants in front of a being like him. Fortunately, only his hand had descended. If his True Form arrives, I can’t imagine what will happen.]

From the corner of his eye, he saw that Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan was equally surprised, but she seemed much calmer than the others. It seemed that she had already expected this outcome.

Furthermore, he even saw a fleeting disdainful smile on her lips.

[Did Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan do this intentionally? Did she lure out the person behind the scenes to help her destroy her enemies? So, she already expected this sort of outcome. It that the reason she dared to show up. She’s indeed crafty. If we were not careful enough, we would’ve been annihilated as well.]

Ancestral Deity Tai Su frowned and felt a sense of unease when he thought of this possibility.

They were in the Spacetime Sea of an unknown dimension with a chaotic coordinate. Regardless of how powerful the person behind the scenes was, he could not possibly arrive immediately with his True Form.

When he felt the hook moving, he immediately extended a hand which traced the fluctuations of karma and penetrated the boundless Spacetime. This showed just how mighty he was.

Certainly, he needed a medium to move in this Spacetime. The fishing line was formed from karma. As long as the fishing line was not touched, it would not catch his attention.

Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan was the only one who had exchanged moves with that being, so she was surely aware of his might. In that case, she had probably been waiting for the angler behind the scenes to make a move since the beginning.

Ancestral Deity Tai Su donned a dark expression when he realised this.

It was no wonder Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan was one of the oldest Ancestral Deities still alive. She was more cunning than they had thought.

While the Ancestral Deities in this place were still rooted to the spot because of what just happened, Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan, who had moved away earlier, suddenly disappeared.

Like an illusory figure, she appeared below the hook. A light radiated from her loose sleeves. The area became illuminated by what looked like a rain of lights.

At the same time, the bait hooked to the fishing line radiated a bright glow as though it had been drawn. Then, an immense burst of divine power broke out, as the arm broke free from the hook and returned to Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan’s loose sleeve.

In that one instant, it was reconnected to her body.

“You fools think you have a right to snatch my arm?” She slightly moved the arm that had returned to her. With a dispassionate expression, she swept a glance over these Ancestral Deities and spoke icily. She did not seem to have any regard for anyone in the Boundless Expanse.

Ancestral Deity Tai Su could not help but revere and admire her. After the death of Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao, only Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan still had the guts to snatch the Divine Source. The other Ancestral Deities were all rooted to the spot.

She was bold but meticulous. Even though she was badly injured, they still were not her match.

The other Ancestral Deities were dead silent. They did not know that the angler behind the scenes was so powerful. If they were aware of it, they would not have dared to take this huge risk.

“I’ll get my revenge against all of you for what happened today soon enough.” Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan said impassively.

With that, a mass of void appeared behind her. She disappeared into it and left the place.

The other Ancestral Deities donned dark expressions. Not only were they unable to achieve their goal, but they also suffered some losses. When Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan recovered, she would surely come after them.

Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan definitely did not fight with all her strength against Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao earlier. After all, she was able to escape from that horrifying being, leaving behind only an arm.

On the other hand, Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao could not even fend off the hand. He was so easily killed. It was obvious that Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan was far stronger than all of them.

“Who is it in the Boundless Expanse that has such unfathomable might?”

The other Ancestral Deities were all frightened. They dared not stay there any longer, worried that the angler behind the scenes would make another move after discovering that he had caught the wrong fish.

By then, all of them would walk down the same path as Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao.

Soon enough, Ancestral Deity Tai Su and the others disappeared from this Spacetime Sea and erased all their traces of karma.

Calmness was restored to this Spacetime Sea. Waves would surge from time to time. It was vast and magnificent. The Moon remained the same, but it was now dyed red with blood.

After those Ancestral Deities left, Deities who had been hiding in the dark appeared and turned into rays of light to look for the scattered divine blood and fragments of Divinity.

Many Deities had been hiding in the dark, watching everything since the beginning.

They knew that they were too weak to interfere in a battle between Ancestral Deities, let alone snatch that Divine Source.

They just wanted to get some small benefits when the battle turned chaotic. After all, even small scarps were of immense benefit to them.

They never expected to witness such a scene. In their minds, Ancestral Deities were almost invincible beings. However, that hand traversed across Spacetime and easily killed one of them. His blood splattered and dyed the Spacetime Sea red.

The scene was so shocking that their Souls were almost pulled out of their bodies, and their Divinities almost fell apart.

Fortunately, they were insignificant beings who were not worthy of the attention of those Ancestral Deities or the angler behind the scenes.

It was for this reason that they now had a chance to search for those fragments of Divinity left behind by Ancestral Deity Jiu Ao after his death.

They could not imagine the kind of chaos the universes would descend into in the future.

    …

“You think you’ve truly managed to make use of me?” At the same time, the surface of the pond broke apart and the mist rolled. Gu Changge retracted the fishing line. A scornful smile appeared on his lips when he looked at the broken golden glow.

He naturally could see through such a ploy easily. In fact, this was why he did this.

Ancestral Deity Tai Xuan thought that he had used her arm as bait to force her to show up, prompting her enemies to join forces to kill her. Therefore, she played along and used this move against them. With the help of Gu Changge, her enemy was killed and she retrieved her arm amid the chaos, successfully retreating afterwards.

However, Gu Changge had already planned to return the arm to her from the very beginning.

“It seems that I no longer have to pay any attention to the Divine Dao Civilisation. On the other hand, those from the Righteous Alliance have run out of patience.” Gu Changge dropped a mass of Divine Source in his hand into the teapot and considered another important matter.

The Heaven Legion and the Eight Legions had made an appearance. They represented two factions of Heaven’s Proxy Group, so there would surely be a war between the two parties one day.

The Eight Legions would never allow the Heaven Legion to remain dominant, especially when the latter had signed a peace treaty with the Righteous Alliance and started collecting sacrifices for the Grand Ceremony.

Under such a circumstance, the Eight Legions must come up with a way to curb the Heaven Legion’s development. Otherwise, it would be too late when those from the Heaven Legion bared their fangs.

After Heaven’s Proxy Group fell apart, it split into the Heaven Legion and the Eight Legions.

Neither party was completely peaceful and stable internally. There was never a lack of trickery, betrayals and fights.

Even when the dark beings returned, there were different voices and opinions within the Heaven Legion.

“If a war doesn’t break out between the Heaven Legion and the Eight Legions, the big fishes hiding behind the scenes won’t easily show themselves. The Boundless Expanse is just not chaotic enough.” Gu Changge frowned.

When Old Man Sai Ya and the others found him, he deliberately revealed his identity for this very reason.

He knew that his identity would be exposed to the Forces behind Old Man Sai Ya and the others, namely the Decay Legion and the Rare Yin Legion. He intended to seize the chance and made more plans.

He wanted to let some of them know that he had returned. Furthermore, he made it look as though could not publicly show himself and reveal his identity. In short, feigning weakness.

“It’s about time to mount some pressure on the Boundless Expanse. The Land of Darkness Origin will make an appearance.” Gu Changge lifted his head. With his deep gaze, he looked at the void in front of him as though it penetrated the boundless Spacetime and fell upon a vast and chilly Realm.

That place was always covered in a thick black mist. It was cold and void of any vitality. Fragments of broken universes, Spacetime Rifts, and Principles were scattered all around.

This whole world was dark and desolate. The ground was full of chasms as wisps of black mist emerged from Spacetime Rifts. It was as though the black mist was corrupting the entire Boundless Expanse.

All the Dark Concentrate in the Boundless Expanse seemed to be coming from this place. In fact, this had been the source of darkness since time immemorial.

The sky was dark and the land lacked any vitality. An inauspicious aura filled the air. It seemed that no living beings had ever set foot here in eons.

In the deepest part of the land, where darkness was born, a withered World Tree stood. Its twigs that could prop up universes had all died.

Those leaves still hung on to the twigs, but they had all dried up. Since there was no vitality, no world could be born. Yet, traces of darkness were everywhere.

Countless Runes were engraved on this World Tree. They still exuded horrifying powers, but many places had faded and worn out.

Massive chains made from precious Primordial Source Metal were wrapped around the World Tree as if trying to seal it here forever. It also served as the eye of an Array.

At the bottom of the World Tree were intricate roots. They looked like dead True Dragons that had laid coiled around.

The thick Dark Concentrate spurted from the gap like a volcano and formed a dark river.

This Realm was supposed to be desolate and cold forever, but one day, a whirring sound was heard as though a terrifying power was about to break free from the seal. The boundless Dark Concentrate was boiling and flowing out. It looked like a dark tide that was about to sweep through the sky.

Countless Grand Runes manifested themselves on the dead World Tree. They were so dazzling it was as if countless Suns had been ignited to cast away the darkness.

The dead leaves rustled as though worlds collided. It was a sound that would make anyone in the Boundless Expanse fearful, as the force was enough to destroy the Boundless Expanse.

Six faint glows appeared in different directions in the sky, but they were very vague.

Grand Runes shot out of them and turned into a torrent to suppress the trembling World Tree, such that the sealed being would still not be able to break free.

The six faint glows were covered in a Mist of Chaos. Those were the illusory images of various Artifacts such as an ancient mirror, a gate, a pond, a coffin, a disc, and a book.

Nevertheless, it was obvious that these six Artifacts were all illusory. They continued to fade as the remaining energy was continuously worn out.

That day, countless beings in the Boundless Expanse could see that the skies had become transparent. In the centre of their skies, a mysterious and icy Dark Realm was being reflected.
