Qin Yichen sat quietly within the cave, making no move to rise immediately, as though savouring the sensation of the terrifying power within him, a power capable of shattering mountains and splitting stone with the mere raising of a hand.

However, the sudden stillness within the cave had caused many of the Demonic Beasts that had been lurking greedily outside to grow agitated.

    *Roar!*

In barely a moment, with a thunderous howl, a Demonic Beast saturated with murderous energy came bursting in through the concealed cave entrance. Its aura had also reached the level of Peak Stage Martial Ancestor Realm.

Yet upon seeing this Demonic Beast charge in, not a trace of panic appeared in Qin Yichen’s eyes. His gaze snapped open in an instant, and the corner of his mouth curved into a faint smile.

    *Bang!*

The next instant, the tip of his foot tapped the ground, without raising so much as a ripple of Yuan Energy fluctuation. The air detonated. His figure crossed the distance between them in what was essentially an instant, arriving directly before the Demonic Beast.

The two were rather mismatched in scale, yet Qin Yichen did not retreat. He simply threw out one flat, unhurried punch.

    *Boom!*

The punch carried no particularly formidable fluctuations, yet in the instant it connected, that Peak Stage Martial Ancestor Demonic Beast went off with a resounding bang, detonating into a sky full of blood mist, without so much as a scrap of flesh and bone remaining.

A single punch had detonated a Peak Stage Martial Ancestor Demonic Beast. This level of power could only be described as terrifying.

And having obliterated the beast with that single punch, a surge of pure exhilaration swept through Qin Yichen’s chest. He let out a great laugh, flicked his palm, and collected the Beast Core drifting amid the blood mist.

“Great!” Qin Yichen gave his body a slight twist, and a rapid, crisp sequence of cracking and popping sounds rang out, followed by a wave of formidable power fluctuation spreading outward.

His aura had not risen in the slightest, and yet his strength was now completely consolidated. Even if he were to face Zhao Xueqi again, he could fight to his heart’s content in a thoroughly satisfying battle. He was even confident that without drawing on the Demon Execution Palm Technique, he could still obliterate the latter.

Qin Yichen then tapped the tip of his foot against the ground and swept out of the cave.

At this point, he finally noticed that surrounding the cave, several flying Demonic Beasts were eyeing him hungrily, and along the mountain walls, pairs of savage, murderous beast eyes stared out from all directions.

    *Boom!*

Faced with at least a dozen Demonic Beasts gathered around him, Qin Yichen could not help but furrow his brow slightly. Then, with a cold laugh, a formidable aura surged out from all around him.

    *Screech!*

    *Roar! Roar!*

As this formidable aura spread outward, every beast that had been glaring at him with crimson eyes immediately let out a cry, then scattered and fled at speed.

Though his aura was no more than Peak Stage Martial Ancestor Realm, the Demonic Beasts’ innate instincts told them that the fellow before them, who did not look particularly impressive, was an extraordinarily dangerous being.

Watching the Demonic Beasts scatter in all directions, Qin Yichen gave a light chuckle, and was just retracting his aura when his brow abruptly creased. His gaze swept toward the distant horizon.

    *Whoosh!*

At the very edge of his vision, the sound of something cutting through the wind suddenly came. Then, one figure after another came riding the wind, appearing at the horizon’s edge, and they seemed to be flying directly toward Qin Yichen’s position.

“You are the one who killed Zhao Xueqi, aren’t you? You hid yourself quite well. We searched this territory of ten thousand kilometres for three or four days before we found you!”

Just as Qin Yichen was preparing to leave, a cold shout suddenly rang out across the sky above.

Hearing this voice, the expression on Qin Yichen’s face gradually darkened.

He had deliberately concealed his aura before slipping away, and yet through a single moment of carelessness, he had been found this quickly. And furthermore, a search spanning ten thousand kilometres, this was the reach of a Saint’s power, was it?

“Might you have mistaken me for someone else?”

Qin Yichen watched the four figures drawing ever closer and spoke in a perfectly measured tone.

“Mistaken you? Heh heh. Young man, are you truly unaware that your actions have already spread throughout this entire territory of ten thousand kilometres?”

Yet the cold laughter that rang out from above instantly shattered whatever small shred of hope Qin Yichen had been harbouring.

“You even dared to kill the City Lord’s Younger Brother. What do you intend to quibble about?”

“Looking at you now, it seems you are not nearly as arrogant as those remnants made you out to be!”

Among the four, a man dressed in blue robes looked at Qin Yichen with an expression of amused mockery and said, “Do not worry. You will not die so quickly. We intend to bring you back and await the City Lord’s interrogation.”

“The City Lord, you mean Zhao Xuetu?”

Qin Yichen swept his gaze across the four of them and said in a perfectly flat voice, “Why did he not come himself?”

“*Hmph.* What do you think you are? Do you imagine you are worthy of the City Lord making a move personally?”

“Being able to kill Zhao Xueqi, your strength is not bad, but the four of us together are more than enough to cut you down!”

“The City Lord has said that if you insist on resisting, bringing your severed head to him will do just as well.”

At this moment, in various concealed spots throughout the surrounding mountain ranges, one figure after another had appeared. Some had come in groups, venturing here to try their luck, while others were scattered lone experts, here for some tempering.

As they sensed the four astounding auras that had suddenly appeared overhead, their attention was instantly seized. When they heard the exchange passing between the parties, those hidden figures all drew their necks back somewhat sheepishly.

Within this territory of ten thousand kilometres in circumference, the only one who could be addressed as City Lord was Zhao Xuetu.

Judging by the look of things, these four powerful cultivators were actually subordinates under Zhao Xuetu’s command.

Even so, the hidden experts did not take their leave. Instead, they concealed their forms with keen interest and began to observe in secret.

They were also rather curious. Just who was this person, to be so utterly blind as to dare provoke Zhao Xuetu?

“Based solely on the few of you?” Qin Yichen let out a contemptuous laugh, not a trace of fear on his face, and indeed, a faint look of disdain even flickered in his eyes.

“Still talking tough when death is at your doorstep!”

“You ignorant fool. Just because you managed to defeat Zhao Xueqi, do not think yourself invincible under Heaven. Under the combined assault of us four, you will come to understand just how insignificant you truly are!”

Qin Yichen’s contemptuous words had evidently infuriated the four powerful cultivators above.

At once, the four let out a collective cold cry, their frames shifted, and they arranged themselves into a peculiar formation before sweeping forward with force.

Though their mouths had expressed something resembling disdain toward Qin Yichen, their movements carried an extraordinary wariness. The array they had formed between themselves was balanced in both offence and defence, demonstrating a remarkably fluid coordination.

After all, even Zhao Xueqi had died at this person’s hands. It was impossible for them not to feel some apprehension.

Even so, while their individual strength fell a small margin short of Zhao Xueqi, they still had confidence that the four of them working together could defeat Zhao Xueqi within a hundred exchanges.

“Zhao Xueqi, is that not the Blood Hand?”

“Heavens, just who has actually killed Zhao Xueqi?”

And as the words of the four reached them, from the concealed spots in the surrounding peaks, a chorus of low, startled cries rang out.
