Lu Fan nodded and said, “Indeed. Since we have come, we must kill this Ancient God. We absolutely cannot allow it to survive. Otherwise, it would not only be the Dragon Domain at stake. The whole world is at stake.”

The Bronze Dragon King said, “In that case, how do we slay this Desolate Ancient God? Do you have a plan? Simply say whatever you need from us. I will cooperate with everything I have.”

Lu Fan smiled. “In regards to this question, we should defer it to Teacher Ouyang. When it comes to dealing with Ancient Gods, she is more knowledgeable than any of us.”

Ouyang Bai Ge smiled. “There is no particular special plan. As I have said, dealing with the Desolate Ancient God requires us to only locate its True Body. And in preparation for this, I have already readied the Void Insects capable of finding it. We need only follow the Void Insects, venture deep into the Valley of Life, find the Desolate Ancient God’s True Body, and then destroy it. Once the True Body is located, the actual killing of it would not be so difficult.”

She paused, then added, “However, the Desolate Ancient God’s True Body is capable of merging with the mud and moving through it freely. Should it become aware of our arrival and lack the confidence to defeat us in a direct fight, knowing its cautious temperament, there is a strong likelihood it would dissolve its True Body into the mud and slip away.”

“So, we must not allow this mud to continue spreading. In short, when we enter the Valley of Life, the defensive arrangements outside must be thorough. We cannot afford to give it any opportunity to exploit an opening to escape.”

The Bronze Dragon King frowned and said, “If that’s the case, it’s rather difficult. If this thing’s power is comparable to me, ordinary Giant Dragons may not be able to restrain it. In fact, if it attempts to forcibly break through some gap, my gathered forces may not be able to hold it back…”

Ouyang Bai Ge said, “You need not worry about that. The Desolate Ancient God’s nature is quite special. Strictly speaking, this mud in its entirety is its body. What we seek is the core of its body. That is the vital weakness of its physical form. Without striking its vital point, it cannot be killed. The other mud, while not its vital point, is still part of its body. So, if it wishes to flee, it naturally must take its body along with it. Simply restraining its body and preventing it from moving and hiding within the Dragon Domain is not, for most Giant Dragons, that difficult.”

“As for the Desolate Ancient God exerting its true strength to forcefully break through some defence line made up of Giant Dragons, that would require time. And within that window, we should be able to react and converge on its position.”

“Once that vital point is struck and destroyed, it will truly die. This is also the reason why, until now, you have never once seen its True Body. It is because it does not yet have the confidence to defeat both Dragon Kings here, along with this many Giant Dragons.”

“So, it can only keep battling, absorbing energy from your attacks to strengthen itself, waiting for the day when it feels confident enough to kill every last one of you, which, at that point, it would stake everything in that fight. Everything so far is merely a skirmish in preparation for that moment.”

The Bronze Dragon King nodded. “When you explain it this way, I understand. So, we must go and locate its True Body. So long as the other Giant Dragons guard positions where the mud might spread and give it no opportunity to escape, that is enough. Am I right?”

Ouyang Bai Ge nodded. “Yes. That is exactly what I mean. In this battle, our odds are very good. The combined strength of those of us here should be enough to match the Desolate Ancient God. With the power of two Dragon Kings, slaying the Desolate Ancient God should be a near certainty.”

“Hahaha!” The Bronze Dragon King laughed heartily, her mood lifted. “Great! I feel more at ease now. So, when do we leave?”

Ouyang Bai Ge said, “Whenever you are ready.”

“Hmm.” The Bronze Dragon King thought for a moment, then said, “As soon as possible then. I don’t want delays to cause further complications. Just wait a moment. I will have the Giant Dragons under my command go and notify my ally, the Shadow Dragon King, to come here. The two of us will accompany all of you into the Valley of Life, seek out the Desolate Ancient God, and kill it there, leaving no future trouble behind!”

Lu Fan nodded. “No problem. One more ally means one more level of assurance. In this battle, we can only succeed. Failure is not an option.”

“Then please wait a short while. The Shadow Dragon King is an Agility Focused Giant Dragon, so he is fast.” Having said this, the Bronze Dragon King rose and beckoned to one of her guards with a wave.

The Bronze Dragon guard stepped forward immediately to receive the order, and was dispatched by the Bronze Dragon King to the Shadow Dragon King’s location.

The Dragon Domain was vast. Even with a Giant Dragon’s formidable flying speed, a round trip would consume a fair amount of time.

However, the Desolate Ancient God had already been a blight upon the Dragon Domain for this long, so leaving it for a few more hours was not much of an issue.

Time passed quickly, and more than two hours went by.

During this period, Lu Fan and his companions chatted at length with the Bronze Dragon King, sharing matters pertaining to Human society, and relaying certain intelligence about the Ancient Gods, all of which left the Bronze Dragon King wide-eyed with astonishment.

The scale to which Human society had developed in particular, with novel things such as the internet and the like, filled the Bronze Dragon King with an almost wistful longing. According to her, the last time she had shown herself in Human society, things had been extremely primitive. Nothing like the internet had existed back then.

Once the business with the Desolate Ancient God was settled, she was now determined to leave the Dragon Domain and spend a proper stretch of time in Human society.

Just as the group was deep in cheerful conversation, a dense and oppressive aura suddenly surged towards them from a distance.

*Thud* Lu Fan and the others instinctively looked up, and found that at some point on the horizon, a mass of black mist had appeared, sweeping forward in a vast and overwhelming tide, engulfing the entire stretch of sky.

“This guy. If you’re coming, then just come. What is he putting on such a grand display for? Who does it benefit?” The Bronze Dragon King laughed and cursed affectionately in the same breath, then rose and walked out towards the direction from which the black mist was advancing.
