Chapter 1081, Invading the Tie Family
by SilavinTranslator: Silavin
Seeing how self-assured his own Ancestor was, Tie Fusheng, who had come prepared with a lot of arguments, found himself unable to say a single one of them. He had no choice but to swallow them all back down.
Right beside them was an empty seat. In ordinary times, this was a position where those who came to see the Tie Family Ancestor could be seated, provided their status was sufficiently high.
Within the Tie Family, very few held the standing to speak with the Tie Family Ancestor while they could remain seated. As it happened, Tie Fusheng was precisely one of them.
After Tie Fusheng took his seat, the Tie Family Ancestor passed him a cup of tea.
Tie Fusheng was both honoured and flustered, accepting it with both hands and offering his thanks.
The Tie Family Ancestor picked up his own teacup and took a sip, continuing. “This tea is the finest one among my private reserves. Even on ordinary days, I cannot bring myself to drink it. But today, the Tie Family has moved into its new base. It is a day of great joy. So, I have unsealed this tea to properly savour it.”
“Is this not the Enlightenment Brew you had stored away?” Tie Fusheng took a sip and found it to be truly sublime in taste. Moreover, after drinking it down, his Attributes had actually increased by a fair bit. It was a permanent Attribute increase at that.
This potency was practically on par with some Epic Grade Permanent Buff Potions.
The Tie Family Ancestor smiled slightly and nodded. “Indeed, it is that Enlightenment Brew.”
“It was dropped from a Dungeon Instance by the Wu Family, one of the Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Families. It came from a Dungeon Instance comparable to the Flaming Hell. Compared to equipment, the Enlightenment Brew is not exactly something of exceedingly high value. It could be considered slightly superior to Buff Potions. But for a person like me, who has always loved drinking tea, its value is comparable to a Peak Epic Grade equipment. Of course, I was more than willing to pay a large sum to purchase it from the Wu Family. And, ironically, after bringing it back, I still could not bear to drink it. Not until today did I finally unseal it.”
Upon hearing this, Tie Fusheng’s expression shifted. Holding the teacup in his hands, he became somewhat ill at ease. “This… Ancestor, such precious tea… how could I possibly drink this…”
The monetary value of this tea might not be especially high, particularly to a Force of the Tie Family’s calibre. But the Enlightenment Brew was the sort of tea that had a price yet could not be readily found on the market. One could not simply buy it whenever they wished.
Therefore, from a certain perspective, the Enlightenment Brew was more precious even than Epic Grade equipment.
Everyone knew that the Tie Family Ancestor was passionately devoted to drinking tea. Tie Fusheng, on the other hand, had only a passing familiarity with tea.
Serving truly fine tea to him was, in a sense, a waste.
The Tie Family Ancestor naturally understood Tie Fusheng’s thoughts. He gave a chuckle and said, “Why can you not drink it? You are the Tie Family Patriarch! Although full authority over the Tie Family has not yet been entirely placed in your hands, your identity as Patriarch is genuine beyond any doubt. You only need a few more years of tempering, and I shall be able to fully step back into the background and hand the Tie Family over entirely to you to manage. As Tie Family Patriarch, you must not belittle yourself.”
He paused, and a gleam flickered in the Tie Family Ancestor’s eyes. “Moreover, your future achievements should surpass even my own. During your tenure as the Patriarch, the Tie Family has relocated to a new base. Once your Third Uncle returns, our Tie Family will be able to mount its charge towards becoming a Sacred Land.”
“Within fifty years, the Tie Family should have the basic form of a Sacred Land. And all these changes to the Tie Family will have occurred during your tenure. So, in the Tie Family’s ancestral records, your name ought to leave a magnificent and glorious mark!”
With that, he swirled the teacup in his hand. “To say nothing of a cup of tea, in the days to come, your memorial tablet in the Tie Family’s ancestral hall ought to be placed in an exceptionally prominent position!”
Such immense and extraordinary praise caused a flush to rise on Tie Fusheng’s face as he listened.
Who would not want to bring glory to their Ancestors and be forever remembered by the Tie Family’s Descendants through the ages!?
However, Tie Fusheng did not lose himself entirely in the moment.
He steadied himself somewhat and spoke to the Tie Family Ancestor with genuine feeling. “Ancestor, I truly cannot bear this honour… If the Tie Family truly reaches that day, it is your merit that would be greater. Compared to me, your achievements are the ones truly worthy of great celebration. I…”
Tie Fusheng wanted to continue, but the Tie Family Ancestor waved his hand, signalling that there was no need to say more.
“These empty honours hold no interest for me. So long as the Tie Family flourishes and prospers, that is more than enough.” Having said that, he wore a contented smile on his face and continued to sip his tea at a leisurely pace.
Tie Fusheng also had no wish to disturb this quiet and harmonious atmosphere. He planned to keep the Tie Family Ancestor company for a little while before departing to attend to his own affairs.
But at that very moment, he noticed something amiss.
While he and the Tie Family Ancestor were speaking, a Full Moon had slowly risen from the horizon.
The moonlight was pure and bright, luminous as jade.
The Tie Family’s members would naturally have no cause to suspect anything of a mere Moon.
After all, the Moon was something they had seen frequently back at the old Tie Family Residence.
Yet, Tie Fusheng suddenly recalled, they were now already within the interior of a Dungeon Instance, situated within an independent space. How could they still see a Full Moon, which should only be visible in the outside world?
“Ancestor, that Moon…” Tie Fusheng had barely begun to speak when suddenly a thunderous *boom* erupted from one part of the base.
The Tie Family Ancestor and Tie Fusheng both jolted upright from their seats simultaneously, looking towards the direction the sound had come from.
“What is happening?! Why is there such a commotion coming from within our Tie Family estate?!”
The Tie Family Ancestor could no longer remain seated, and immediately demanded an answer.
Tie Fusheng did not know how to respond either, and could only say: “I… I shall go and check on the situation right now!”
The Tie Family Ancestor thought for a moment, then said. “Never mind. I will go with you!”
With that, the two of them simultaneously activated their Flight Skills and flew in the direction the sound had come from.
As they flew, they could see that within the Tie Family base, the Full Moon that had appeared in the sky hung high overhead, periodically releasing several soft beams of moonlight that descended towards the source of the commotion.
Clearly, this Moon was connected to the disturbance within the Tie Family.
How could it be that their new base had been invaded!?
How could this be possible?
The Tie Family had only just moved into this base. Apart from their Tie Family members, there was absolutely no way anyone could know the location of this Dungeon Instance. Even if someone did know, who would dare come to the Tie Family base and go on a rampage?!
Moreover, the entrance to this Dungeon Instance had been sealed with layer upon layer of Restrictions. Without knowing the method, it was absolutely impossible for anyone to enter.
Even a Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Family like the Situ Family could not possibly breach it in less than a few days’ time.
Just who could come and cause trouble at their Tie Family’s doorstep?!
It could not possibly be a Sacred Land, right!?
The two flew quickly to the source of the commotion. Even from a considerable distance away, they could see that the area had already descended into complete chaos.
