Chapter 1204, Alliance Reached
by SilavinTranslator: Silavin
One needed only to guard against the Desolate Ancient God’s attempts to flee, and use the Void Insects to locate its True Body. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, killing it was almost a certainty.
This battle might be difficult, but with the support of both the Shadow Dragon King and the Bronze Dragon King, never mind the Desolate Ancient God, even the Slaughter Ancient God would find it hard to escape death.
The Desolate Ancient God was formidable, to be capable of effortlessly dominating the Valley of Life.
The strength of its True Body was also absolutely beyond what those endlessly generating Dragon Carcasses could compare to.
But faced with two Dragon Kings, as well as Lu Fan and the others joining forces, it would surely be in for a very rough time.
This time, the advantage was unquestionably on Lu Fan’s side.
Once the plan had been settled, the group prepared to put it into action.
Before venturing deep into the mud to seek out the Desolate Ancient God, the most essential preparation was the defensive perimeter. Out of everything, they had to prevent the Desolate Ancient God from slipping free of their encirclement.
This required the Shadow Dragon King and the Bronze Dragon King, along with the Bronze Dragons under her command, to properly guard the Dragon Domain. They needed to keep vigilant watch around the boundary where the Desolate Ancient God’s mud was spreading. They had to ensure it could not further advance another step.
The Shadow Dragon King and the Bronze Dragon King were both figures of high standing within the Dragon Domain. Not only were they renowned within their own Dragon Clans, their names were illustrious beyond the Dragon Domain as well.
Between the Shadow Dragon Clan and the Bronze Dragon Clan alone, combined they had nearly a thousand Adult Giant Dragons who could be committed to battle, standing guard at the perimeter to prevent the enemy from expanding its territory.
As for the other Clans that followed the two great Dragons, they were an assortment. Still, they numbered close to a thousand.
At the same time, during this period, the Bronze Dragon King had continuously dispatched messengers to seek reinforcements from outside. Out of deference to the Bronze Dragon King and the Shadow Dragon King, or perhaps to repay the Life Dragon King’s kindness, the Giant Dragons who had arrived to offer support numbered three to five hundred.
Tallying it all up, on the entire battlefield around the Valley of Life, a full three thousand Adult Giant Dragons had now assembled.
Such terrifying strength. If unleashed upon the outside world, it would be enough to completely overturn it.
Even an Ancient God, faced with so many Giant Dragons, would find it a headache.
When Lu Fan learned that so many Giant Dragons had gathered on this battlefield, he was stunned. He even found himself wondering whether the Desolate Ancient God truly warranted such a vast mobilisation of Dragons to watch over it.
Prior, it was quite disheartening that despite having so many Dragons, they remained powerless against the Desolate Ancient God simply because they had no understanding of it and did not know how to kill it.
Otherwise, with this many Giant Dragons wishing to kill a single Ancient God, it should have been easy.
The sheer number of Giant Dragons gathered here was not an entirely good thing though. After all, the more Giant Dragons there were, the more energy the Desolate Ancient God could absorb.
Had Lu Fan not arrived when he did, the Desolate Ancient God could simply have used its battles with the Bronze Dragon King, the Shadow Dragon King, and the other Giant Dragons to rapidly bolster its own strength and reach an extraordinarily high degree of awakening.
Give it a little more time, and once its strength had surpassed the two Dragon Kings, or it had absorbed either Dragon King, the Dragon Domain would be truly beyond saving. Even if Lu Fan and the others arrived, they would be no match for the Desolate Ancient God.
However, things had fortunately not reached that point yet.
Lu Fan had the two Dragon Kings issue orders for all Giant Dragons to be placed on full alert, holding firm around the perimeter of the Desolate Ancient God’s spreading mud and preventing it from pushing any further outward.
At the same time, they were to maintain a safe distance from the mud itself. Provided this battle went smoothly, the trouble caused by the Desolate Ancient God should be resolved, and any Dragon casualties arising at this juncture would be the most pointless loss imaginable.
As for the Shadow Dragon King and the Bronze Dragon King, they would accompany Lu Fan and the others deep into the Valley of Life to locate the Desolate Ancient God’s True Body and eliminate it.
With both Dragon Kings lending their strength this time, one Desolate Ancient God ought to be within their grasp.
The plan was simple, one might even say there was no plan at all.
The Bronze Dragon King naturally agreed to venture deep into the Valley of Life with Lu Fan and the others to find the Desolate Ancient God.
The Shadow Dragon King had initially been unwilling to trust Lu Fan and the others. Even with the Giant Dragons of the Valley of Life as guarantors, the fact that Lu Fan and the others carried Ancient God auras still made the Shadow Dragon King uneasy.
But the Bronze Dragon King was too set on going to the Valley of Life with Lu Fan, and he simply could not stand by and leave her to venture into such a dangerous place alone.
Out of concern for the Bronze Dragon King’s safety, he followed the group as well and made his preparations to head to the Valley of Life.
The external deployment was completed swiftly.
The Bronze Dragon King and the Shadow Dragon King made brief preparations, then met once more with Lu Fan and the others to formally set out for the Valley of Life.
The situation within the Valley of Life was far more complex than anything outside.
For the sake of safety, the group chose not to fly, opting instead to advance on foot, slowly pushing deeper in.
And so, the entire party stepped in from the boundary of the territory devoured by the Desolate Ancient God, and began their gradual advance.
The scene here was unchanged from when Lu Fan had first come. The place was suffused with rot and desolation. Every tree remained recognisable in its original form, yet all had withered and decomposed, reduced to mud-like structures.
The bones of animals and Monsters scattered throughout were the same.
Even these rotting, decrepit remains might stir at any moment and rise again, transforming into Monsters that would launch themselves at the group.
However, these carcasses were merely some of the Dragon Domain’s Monsters, not Giant Dragons.
Even in the outside world they would certainly be troublesome foes, but for Lu Fan and the others, these corrupted Monsters posed little threat.
Their existence was likely not even a deliberate act on the Desolate Ancient God’s part. It was simply that the Desolate Ancient God had absorbed the energy from their bodies, yet some residual energy remained.
These Monster carcasses, sustained by that residual energy and influenced by the Desolate Ancient God’s aura, had acquired the ability to rise once more.
Like the Monsters directly under the Desolate Ancient God’s control, they were ferociously violent. Whenever any living being passed by, they would rise again and launch an attack.
But to obstruct Lu Fan, they were far too weak.
Not even requiring Lu Fan himself to act, Jian Ying and the others needed only to casually release a few Skills to obliterate them, reducing them to pools of mud that sank back into the earth.
Still, the environment here was so ghastly, like walking through the interior of some vast rotting organism. For some of the women present, it was, no matter how one looked at it, rather difficult to endure.
