Chapter 1202, Shadow Dragon King

Everyone rose to their feet and, together with the Bronze Dragon King, moved to meet the black mist surging towards them.

As the black mist drew closer, the eight Shadow Dragons descended from within it. Their forms shifted, and to everyone’s astonishment, they all transformed into humans of remarkably uniform height and build, clad head to toe in black armour.

 

The armour they wore was fearsomely sharp, blades protruding from every angle, as though their entire bodies were weapons.

 

Moreover, their auras were extraordinarily restrained. Even standing right there, one could scarcely perceive their existence at all.

 

It was truly difficult to imagine that such formidable Giant Dragons, without any dedicated means of suppressing their aura, could reduce their presence to such a degree.

 

Were they to be Assassin Type Players, killing their targets would leave those poor Souls little chance of ever guarding against them.

 

Once the eight Shadow Dragons had transformed into Human Form, they arranged themselves into two columns and simultaneously dropped to one knee.

 

Between them, a tendril of black mist wound its way forward, coalescing into a silhouette that slowly emerged from within.

He was undoubtedly the Shadow Dragon King. Otherwise, the eight other Shadow Dragons would hardly have come out to receive him in such a fashion.

 

However, unlike ordinary Shadow Dragons, this figure had not donned any armour upon taking Human Form. He wore nothing more than a loose black robe, dotted with numerous feathers, making him look quite like a crow.

 

One had to say, having taken Human Form, whether in appearance or taste in clothing, this one fell considerably short of the Devouring Dragon King.

 

[Come to think of it, the Devouring Dragon King had been driven out of the Dragon Domain from a young age and had lived in the outside world for a very long time. As for Xiao Ye and the others, while they could also transform into Human Form, that was purely thanks to Lu Fan’s Skill, Enlightened Transformation. Without that Skill, for them to take Human Form would likely require a very long time, reaching a much higher Level.

 

The Shadow Dragon King was something else entirely. Not only could he himself take Human Form, but all eight of the guards accompanying him could do the same.

When the time comes, you won’t even know how you died. No Dragon outside of our Dragon Domain is worthy of trust. The way I see it, we should seize them first and interrogate them with torture, to see whether we can extract anything of value. And if nothing comes of it, we can just kill them. Our Dragon Domain has no need of a group of ‘Humans’ to help us deal with our troubles.”

 

He paused. The Shadow Dragon King drew a deep breath, as though having detected the Ancient God Power emanating from Lu Fan and the others, and his tone grew colder and more volatile.

 

“Especially when these people carry the same aura as that filth. I believe they have come specifically to help that disgusting ooze seize our Dragon Domain as swiftly as possible. They are no allies of ours! Go!”

 

With that, the Shadow Dragon King issued the command, and the eight Shadow Dragon guards behind him advanced, turning their wrists to produce a jet-black dagger in each hand, every one of them razor-sharp.

 

Seeing the opposing side about to make a move, Lu Fan and the others felt their expressions change.

 

They had long anticipated that seeking cooperation with the Giant Dragons, to jointly deal with the Desolate Ancient God, would not be so straightforward.

 

A Dragon as agreeable as the Bronze Dragon King was ultimately an exception. Most Dragons were like the Shadow Dragon King, ready to strike at the slightest disagreement.

 

Naturally, Lu Fan and the others were not the sort to simply take a beating without fighting back. If they were truly to be seized by the Shadow Dragon King, there was only one outcome, and that was death.

 

Just as everyone was about to resist, a low rumble from the Bronze Dragon King brought everything to a standstill.
