Chapter 1210, The Shadow Dragon King’s Nephew
by SilavinTranslator: Silavin
“Amazing . You’re right. I do indeed have more than one Pet Dragon.” Lu Fan could only laugh helplessly and admit it outright.
With that said, he thought it over and decided that since moving full speed ahead was required from here on out anyway, he could not afford to hold back too much. When they encountered the Desolate Ancient God, he would need to summon all his Dragons and go all out. Only then could he ensure the killing would proceed without any unexpected complications.
If the Desolate Ancient God were allowed to slip away again, this entire era might truly not be possible to preserve.
Since all his Pet Dragons would have to be released sooner or later, there was no longer any necessity to keep them hidden.
With that thought, Lu Fan immediately drew several Summoning Arrays in succession and released every single one of his Pet Dragons.
*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Seeing Lu Fan draw so many Summoning Arrays one after another, the Bronze Dragon King and the Shadow Dragon King were simply thunderstruck.
In particular, when Ye Sha appeared, the Shadow Dragon King was rendered completely speechless, staring blankly for a long while before finally saying, “The same as me, a Dragon King of the Shadow Dragon Clan!? How can this be? Should I not be the only Dragon King within the Shadow Dragon Clan? How is there another Adolescent Dragon King!?”
After seeing the Shadow Dragon King’s asking questions, Lu Fan thought it over and said, “Ye Sha, which is the name of this Shadow Dragon King, was found by me in the outside world, at a place called Shadow Isle. At the time, a Shadow Dragon King had once descended upon Shadow Isle and had lingered there for a period. Even the Map of Shadow Isle got influenced, undergoing drastic changes. Later, I purified Shadow Isle, and made it my Territory. This little one was left behind by that Shadow Dragon King. I happened to find it and hatched it.”
“A Shadow Dragon King!?” The Shadow Dragon King was puzzled, his expression grave. “How long ago was this?”
Lu Fan thought about it. “The time when I found Ye Sha should be less than two years ago. But if you are asking when the Shadow Dragon King descended upon Shadow Isle, I could not say with certainty. It ought to have been several hundred years ago at least. After all, Shadow Isle at the time was severely polluted. Many people and Monsters had undergone drastic changes, transformed into far more vicious Monsters.”
“Several hundred years ago…” The Shadow Dragon King fell immediately into deep thought.
Seeing this, Lu Fan asked, “Could it be that that Shadow Dragon King had some connection to you?”
Beside them, the Bronze Dragon King said, “Dragon King Bloodlines are exceedingly rare. If this little one’s Mother was a Shadow Dragon King, there may actually be some connection to him. He had a Little Sister who possessed pure Shadow Dragon King Bloodline. But, for certain reasons, his Little Sister left the Dragon Domain and ventured into the outside world. There has been no news of her whatsoever for several hundred years. So if there is a Shadow Dragon King in the outside world, it may well be his Sister. Which would mean this Shadow Dragon King is… our Nephew?”
The Shadow Dragon King gave a small nod and moved forward of his own accord, giving Ye Sha a gentle stroke.
Ye Sha tilted his head to one side, and offered no resistance whatsoever to the attentions of this Senior from the same Clan. After all, Dragons possessed exceedingly high intelligence and could easily sense whether another harboured any hostility towards them.
What the Shadow Dragon King felt towards him was entirely the warmth of a Family member, so naturally Ye Sha felt no hostility in return.
However, as to whether Ye Sha was truly the Shadow Dragon King’s Nephew, Lu Fan genuinely could not say.
After all, Ye Sha’s origins were only a little different from his other Pet Dragons.
The other Dragon Kings had all hatched from Dragon Eggs.
Ye Sha, however, had been summoned by Xiao Cui.
Strictly speaking, Ye Sha had not hatched from a Dragon Egg at all, but had come about through what had originally been a Shadow Dragon King Summoning Contract Scroll.
So to say that Ye Sha and the Shadow Dragon King shared any Family connection was, strictly speaking, a stretch.
Yet at the same time, if the Shadow Dragon King before them truly had some connection to the Shadow Dragon King who had once descended upon Shadow Isle, then Ye Sha could in fact be said to share a considerable bond with the both of them.
Which was precisely how there came to be a sense of kinship through Bloodline between the two of them.
As for Ye Sha’s origins, Lu Fan had no wish to explain too much. Once he began explaining, it would inevitably drag in his cheat, the Super Treasure Map System, into the conversation.
And that was precisely why he had explained instead that Ye Sha’s appearance had come about through a Dragon Egg on Shadow Isle.
This explanation was the most reasonable, and the most convenient. Lu Fan would not create unnecessary trouble for himself by going out of his way to spell out Ye Sha’s origins in exhaustive detail, using great effort with little to gain.
At least the current situation was, in truth, not bad at all. The Shadow Dragon King believed Ye Sha shared a Bloodline connection with him, and was visibly showing Ye Sha a tenderness rare among Dragons.
Furthermore, Lu Fan could sense that even though the Shadow Dragon King had followed the group here, deep down he still regarded everyone present with both wariness and hostility. Were it not for the Bronze Dragon King’s presence, he would have long since driven everyone away.
Yet from the moment Ye Sha appeared, the Shadow Dragon King’s attitude towards everyone present had undergone a clear change.
Perhaps he felt that if Ye Sha truly was his Nephew, then whoever had hatched him in the outside world and carried him along all this way, Levelling him up to become the Adolescent Dragon he was today, must have treated him well.
As Ye Sha’s Elder, he would in effect owe Lu Fan a debt of gratitude.
And one must know that although Dragons were mighty, and even Infant Phase Dragons could effortlessly dispatch powerful Monsters several Levels above them, Infant Dragons were not invincible. They were highly constrained by their Level.
If they were not within the Dragon Domain, protected by Adult Dragons from the moment of birth, their infant would be in a very precarious position.
In particular, the Dragon Clan Bloodline within an Infant Dragon was a tremendous tonic for many Monsters. If a High Level Monster were to learn the whereabouts of a weak Infant Dragon, the outcome would inevitably be wretched, even for an Infant Dragon King.
If not for Lu Fan’s presence, whether Ye Sha could have survived to this day was genuinely uncertain.
And so, the Shadow Dragon King, constrained by this consideration, felt keenly that he owed Lu Fan something. Although he had not openly acknowledged that Ye Sha was his Nephew, his attitude made it plain enough that he most likely accepted it as true.
Lu Fan was happy enough to leave it at that. It was not that he had any intention to deceive, but at least under the present circumstances, it was to his advantage.
Without offering any further explanation, Lu Fan led all his Pet Dragons and drove forward into the Dragon Carcasses swarming around them.
