The exchange between the two had become so ferocious, so tightly locked, that almost no one else could insert themselves into it.

Ye Wuxian had tried to assist. She wanted to infuse her own Ancient God Power into the Bronze Qilin’s body and maintain the persistent Fire Damage as a means of gradually eroding its Combat Power. But the moment her Skill approached the boundary of their battle, it was shattered. Her Skills were unable to penetrate even a fraction of the way through.

When Ye Wuxian transformed her body into her Elemental Form and tried again, the result was the same.

It was as though the space between Lu Fan and the Bronze Qilin had formed a Domain, one that rejected any outsider from entering it.

The Golden Asura King was no different. Controlled by Jian Ying, it had launched flying sword attacks toward the Bronze Qilin from within that boundary, only for those hardened blades to be blown apart upon crossing into the two combatants’ space. The fragments rained down until Tao Xiaoman used her own abilities to re-smelt the broken swords back into their original form.

Ouyang Bai Ge, for her part, likely possessed Void Insects capable of operating even at this level of combat. But she was clearly holding those cards in reserve for the Slaughter Ancient God, and had no intention of spending them here.

After the initial swarm failed to make an impact on the Bronze Qilin, she ceased pressing any further. She simply watched as Lu Fan and the Bronze Qilin traded blows.

Her composure itself was a statement, that she had complete faith in Lu Fan, that he would bring the Bronze Qilin down.

Of the entire group, Han Ke was the only one able to provide any meaningful aid.

Her Ancient God Power was like diffused moonlight. It was gentle, permeating, unbothered by the violent shockwaves radiating from the battle. No matter how savage the exchange between Lu Fan and the Bronze Qilin got, Han Ke’s moonlight passed steadily through the boundary and found Lu Fan and Xiao Ye with precision, raising their Attributes and mending their wounds without any interruption.

The engagement between the Rider and Dragons, and the Bronze Qilin moved steadily toward white-hot intensity. Lu Fan watched the Bronze Qilin’s assault show no sign of diminishing. Its Ancient God Power seemed almost inexhaustible, and he felt genuine surprise by this.

He had initially assumed the Slaughter Heart would resemble the Ancient God Power that the Purgatory Overlord had wielded. It was tremendous in scale, but ultimately finite. In short, he expected it to be akin to a reservoir, that continuous combat would make it drain down to nothing.

However, that assumption was proven wrong.

As Lu Fan pressed the intensity of his assault further, forcing the Bronze Qilin to spend greater quantities of Ancient God Power in Defence, its momentum showed no sign of deteriorating.

It became apparent that the Slaughter Heart lived up to its name. It functioned as a true heart, pumping fresh vitality into the Bronze Qilin without pause.

Lu Fan could not deny that, given enough time, he could deplete the Bronze Qilin’s Ancient God Power. His own multiple Dragon Bloodlines ensured that his Stamina Recovery was absurd as well, and if it came to a war of attrition, lasting three to five years, he would still not lose.

The final outcome was already certain. The Bronze Qilin’s Ancient God Power would eventually deplete and he would cut it down.

But he could not afford to gamble on when that would occur. To waste years in an endurance battle was insane. The era itself might shift in ways beyond he could ever predict.

    Lu Fan stopped holding back.

He would end this in a more overwhelming way.

With a casual sweep of his hand, two more Summoning Arrays materialised and spread open beside him.

Xing Chen emerged from one, Starlight draped her like armour, and she shot directly toward the Bronze Qilin.

Seeing Lu Fan summon yet another Pet Dragon, the Bronze Qilin’s fury deepened into something beyond reason. It opened its jaws and unleashed a torrent of golden flame. Its Damage Output surpassed that of a Giant Dragon’s raw Dragon Breath.

However, against Xing Chen, this Skill was meaningless.

In flight, Xing Chen’s starlight gathered and compressed around her body, forming Starlight Armour over her. This made her Invulnerable, and the Bronze Qilin’s Skill washed across her and dissipated without anything happening.

Xing Chen extended her Dragon Claw. A blinding point of starlight gathered at the centre of her palm, condensing to critical mass, and then she punched forward.

Shatter Star detonated across the gap between them and arrived before the Bronze Qilin in an instant.

The Bronze Qilin refused to concede. Like a beast that had lost itself to battle-fury, it slammed one foot down and charged straight into the attack.

Its Strength Attribute was exceptional. This charge had been enough to drive Lu Fan and Xiao Ye back, enough to fracture the Little Blade Armour Dragon King’s body.

But in a contest of pure Strength Attribute, the Bronze Qilin had chosen the wrong opponent.

Xing Chen did not bother to look at it. The Skill drove down, meeting the Bronze Qilin’s skull in a direct collision.

For a moment, the two came to a complete standstill mid-air. Golden light and starlight interlocked in a blinding weave.

The outcome was suspended in a balance.

But, that suspension lasted only for a moment.

In terms of Strength Attribute, who could match Xing Chen?

As a Starry Sky Dragon King, she could lift entire star bodies with ease, let alone one Bronze Qilin.

The moment of stalemate ended. The luminance of Shatter Star bloomed outward and swallowed the Bronze Qilin’s golden light.

Xing Chen drove Shatter Star down onto the Bronze Qilin’s skull and pressed it into the earth then released the Skill’s full might into the target in an unrestrained torrent.

The ground heaved. The earth caved inward in expanding fractures. Jian Ying and the others fell back in rapid retreat to avoid being caught in the devastation.

Lu Fan watched from the air above. That single strike had come close to demolishing the Bronze Qilin’s head.

But the Bronze Qilin responded as though it were a living explosive. The more of its body was destroyed, the more Ancient God Power erupted from within it.

Golden light surged skyward in a pillar fierce enough to force even Xing Chen to disengage and retreat back into the air, removing herself from the flood of Ancient God Power that came boiling up.

Carried by that eruption, the Bronze Qilin’s shattered skull began to reassemble itself, piece by piece, seamlessly restored to its original form.

[Damn it. Its Ancient God Power is seriously difficult to deal with…] Lu Fan’s eyes narrowed. He turned toward the second Summoning Array and snapped his fingers.

The silence that had surrounded it broke open in an instant. A crack of thunder so loud it overwhelmed all senses, like a dam giving way.

Countless black lightning bolts tore outward from the Summoning Array, converging and cascading downward in a waterfall of destruction, pouring directly onto the Bronze Qilin from above.

The Bronze Qilin had not anticipated this. Having only just finished reassembling its body, it found itself instantly submerged beneath a deluge of lightning, pinned down again before it could react, unable to move.

Ten thousand bolts of lightning detonated across its body in rapid, overlapping sequence. Its figure, wreathed in flickering gold, beneath that relentless assault, began to slowly redden. And then, at the edges, showed the first trembling signs of melting!
