Chapter 1212, The Life Dragon King Carcass

The water-coloured gate, which had originally appeared clear and translucent, was now wreathed in black mist. A single glance was enough for everyone to know how extraordinarily dangerous it was inside.

 

Seeing the two great trees that formed the Transport Array entrance reduced to this state, the Flame Dragon and the Two Headed Dragon both sighed with deep feeling.

 

“Ah,” the Flame Dragon exclaimed quietly, “the two great trees at the entrance to the Valley of Life back then were actually formed from a section of Mother’s own body that she broke off and allowed to grow into shape. Her body contains endless Life Essence. It could continuously sustain the Valley of Life’s entrance in its open state, keeping it from ever closing.

The reason for doing so was that the surging Life Force could guide any Giant Dragons seeking the Valley of Life to its direction. Whenever any Giant Dragon faced hardship and needed assistance, they could locate the Valley of Life’s entrance at the first opportunity by following the surging Life Essence. At the same time, the Valley of Life would always remain open, and would never close itself to others, so as to prevent any Giant Dragon seeking it from making a fruitless journey.

So, Mother did not hesitate. When she broke off these two sections of her body back then, it took her a very long time to recover. Now that I think of it, that was already tens of thousands of years ago.”

 

The Bronze Dragon King nodded, speaking with deep agreement. “I heard from Mother that the two great trees at the entrance to the Valley of Life not only sustained the Valley of Life in its perpetually open state, allowing any Giant Dragon to enter. More importantly, they served as a beacon, allowing any Giant Dragon wishing to visit the Valley of Life to be able to locate it. And once inside the Valley of Life, unless one had committed some truly heinous act, they would receive the Life Dragon King’s protection. So, in the past, many Giant Dragons who had lost their homes came to live within the Valley of Life. It was called the Eden of the Dragon Domain.”

 

The Flame Dragon gazed upon the two utterly ruined trees and said with fury, “Our Valley of Life was once the safe haven of the Dragon Domain. And yet this detestable Desolate Ancient God had taken over it, turning what was once the most beautiful place in Dragon Domain into this sorry state. This time, I will do everything in my might to crush it!”

 

“Rest assured!” Lu Fan patted the Flame Dragon’s body. The flames on his body surged, though they were not enough to harm Lu Fan.

 

“We came today to slay the Desolate Ancient God. It will absolutely not escape this calamity!”

 

“En!” The Flame Dragon nodded, then said, “In that case, let us go in. Did Elder Ouyang not just say that her Void Insects told her the Desolate Ancient God is currently inside the Valley of Life?”

 

Ouyang Bai Ge nodded and said. “From what I can tell, the Desolate Ancient God should be hiding within the Valley of Life But, entering the Valley of Life at this moment in time is not that simple. I sense that there is a heavy concentration of Ancient God Power before the Valley of Life entrance. It seems the Desolate Ancient God had left a big gift here to obstruct us, and is merely waiting for us to receive it!”

 

Almost as soon as Ouyang Bai Ge’s words fell, the two dilapidated great trees before the group suddenly reacted.

 

Because the two great trees had been formed from a section of the Life Dragon King’s own body, after many years of growth they had come to closely resemble a Giant Dragon in shape, as though a Giant Dragon and a great tree had been fused together.

 

It meant that it bore some resemblance to the Life Dragon King.

 

Even though they had now been corrupted by the Desolate Ancient God Power, their bodies reduced to something like mud that could barely maintain their previous form, their outward shape had still retained a portion of the original Giant Dragon characteristics.

 

And now, as if the two great trees had been activated all at once, they began to writhe. Their mud-like bodies solidified, moving further toward the form of a Giant Dragon.

 

In the blink of an eye, the two great trees had transformed into existences almost identical to the Life Dragon King, standing guard at the entrance to the Valley of Life.

 

In an instant, an oppressive might far surpassing that of Dragon Carcasses surged forward, forming a near-tangible gale that sent everyone’s clothing snapping and flapping. The flames upon the Flame Dragon’s body also flickered wildly, though whether from the gale or because he had been genuinely enraged was difficult to say.

 

“It took over the Valley of Life, corrupted the guardian trees formed from Mother’s own body, and now it actually imitates Mother’s appearance to transform into this revolting Monster. The Desolate Ancient God has gone far too far!” The Flame Dragon had a volatile temper. Seeing the other party insult the Life Dragon King in such a manner, he immediately flew into a towering rage. Without waiting for Lu Fan to issue any order, he spread his wings with a single beat and charged straight toward the two Life Dragon King-like figures.

In reality, however, these vines effortlessly bound the Flame Dragon tight. No matter how the Flame Dragon struggled, even detonating the flames across his own body and transforming them into a roaring conflagration, he was simply unable to break free.

 

Moreover, the vines continued to tighten without pause. Even the Flame Dragon could hear, beneath his own flames, the explosive cracking of his scales being crushed.

 

If the two Life Dragon King Carcasses were allowed to continue attacking the Flame Dragon like this, he would likely be cinched and crushed into several pieces and die on the spot.

 

*Crack! Crack! Crack!*

 

Lu Fan and the others naturally could not simply watch the Flame Dragon die here. The Shadow Dragon King reacted with the greatest speed. He raised one hand and swept it forward, sending several more wind blades flying.

 

The wind blades curved around the Flame Dragon’s body and slashed across those vines.

 

The vines that had seemed indestructible before, when faced with the Shadow Dragon King’s attack, finally showed some vulnerability, being cleanly severed and releasing the Flame Dragon.

 

“Quickly come back! Stop acting so rash!” Lu Fan called out loudly, and the freed Flame Dragon immediately flew back, still somewhat shaken.
