Silavin: In this chapter, they talk about retribution, like ‘In the past, our Cherry Blossom Country waged wars and committed countless terrible deeds’. And this event was retribution.

I’m changing this context because it irks me. Maybe I’m going a little too far with this change, but I don’t really see a point in having this context, since it hardly adds to the story. We hardly even know what wrongs this fictional country did, unless we literally take it as Japan.
