With those words from Jiang Baishen, Senior Qing was left without a single thing to say.

Admittedly, he felt that Jiang Baishen’s words made a great deal of sense. Yet he still felt he could not accept things as they stood. Dying for the Slaughter Ancient God, that much he could accept. What he could not accept was the Slaughter Ancient God simply wanting him dead.

He still had so much more he could offer, still so many things he could help the Slaughter Ancient God accomplish.

And yet now, the Slaughter Ancient God intended to cast him aside like rubbish and push him blindly into the fire.

This he could not accept, dying in such a wretched and undignified fashion.

Jiang Baishen could see that though Senior Qing had nothing left to say, grievances still churned within his heart.

He did not make things difficult for him. After a brief pause, he said, “Senior Qing, you and I have been friends for many years, and what is in your heart, I understand. At the same time, you ought to understand my thoughts as well. Should the Slaughter Ancient God order me to die, I will do so without the slightest grievance.”

“If you cannot bring yourself to face death with the same composure as I, then perhaps it would be best for you to leave now. I may be the Sacred Master of the Sacred Jiang Family, but given the friendship between us, I will not make things difficult for you, nor say a single word against you. As for the Slaughter Ancient God, I believe he should not make things difficult for you either. After all, he has said before that upon awakening from his slumber, he intends to walk this world, doing whatever it is within his power to fully awaken and restore all of his strength. At that point, your existence should be of no concern to him, and you will be able to live on in this world without incident, until the end of this era.”

Senior Qing was silent for a long while before finally speaking, “It is not that I am afraid of death and simply wish to live as long as possible, I…”

Jiang Baishen waved his hand and said, “There is no need for explanation. I understand. Please go, follow your own wishes, whether it is to leave, or to go down.”

With that, Jiang Baishen raised a hand and sent forth a ray of golden light.

The golden light bloomed in mid-air, opening a great doorway of departure.

Beyond the doorway lay the Three Star Bronze Forest in a state of ruin and disarray. One only needed to step through that doorway to leave the Sacred Jiang Family.

This act of opening a doorway out of the Sacred Jiang Family appeared effortless, yet in truth, only Jiang Baishen possessed such an ability, capable of opening a passage at will.

For any other person wishing to leave the Sacred Jiang Family, they would need to seek Jiang Baishen’s consent, and only then could Jiang Baishen open a path for them, allowing them to reach the outside world.

It was precisely because of this strict system that the Sacred Jiang Family had always been shrouded in such profound mystery, with no one ever able to ascertain its true location.

Even if Senior Qing were to attempt leaving on his own, with his level of strength, it would still require him to spend a considerable amount of effort.

And now, with Jiang Baishen having opened this passage directly, it was undeniably an offer for him to leave.

Senior Qing was likewise mildly taken aback, never having expected that at such a moment of crisis for the Sacred Jiang Family, Jiang Baishen had truly opened a path of retreat for him.

After a long silence, he looked at Jiang Baishen with disbelief in his eyes, saying, “You… you truly are letting me go? With the Sacred Jiang Family on the verge of destruction, if I leave at this moment, would that not be…”

Jiang Baishen chuckled and said, “Even if you stay, you cannot prevent the Sacred Jiang Family’s destruction. As you yourself said, the Sacred Jiang Family’s destruction today is already a matter of time. This is something both of us clearly know. If you are willing to face death with the same composure as I, then of course there is no problem whatsoever.”

“If you wish to go, then naturally I have no objection. I’ll let you go, and that is that. So, go. The friendship between us has been something I appreciate.”

With that, Jiang Baishen took a leap forward and dropped down from this Sacred Island, plunging towards what lay below.

It appeared that Jiang Baishen intended to personally enter the battlefield and join Jiang Baihe in the fight against Lu Fan.

Senior Qing watched Jiang Baishen pass through the protective barrier between the two Sacred Islands and arrive at the one below. For a moment, a look of struggle flickered across his face.

In the end, however, he swept his hand downwards, and from the earth beneath his feet a thick and sturdy vine suddenly coiled upwards, lifting him and carrying him to the entrance that led him out of the Sacred Jiang Family.

The vine effortlessly delivered him out of the Sacred Jiang Family. Having set foot within the Three Star Bronze Forest, Senior Qing looked back once, and in the end still stepped forward and left.

With his departure, the exit gradually closed, and finally vanished from sight.

On the Sacred Island below, Lu Fan and Jiang Baihe were locked in fierce and intense combat.

At this point, Lu Fan had already seized an absolute advantage and was suppressing Jiang Baihe with ease.

Defeating Jiang Baihe was now merely a matter of time.

Jiang Baihe was truly tenacious, whether it was the golden light protecting his body, or the various Talismans he could throw out at will. All of it was exceedingly troublesome to deal with.

Yet before Lu Fan, Jiang Baihe’s strength still fell a certain distance short. With the mutual cooperation between several of the Pet Dragons, suppressing Jiang Baihe was not particularly difficult.

It looked as though Lu Fan had firmly secured the upper hand, and it would not be long before he could strike Jiang Baihe down once more. Then suddenly, a figure descended from the sky and landed squarely in the centre of the battlefield.

Lu Fan could sense that this person’s strength far exceeded Jiang Baihe’s, and that they harboured immense hostility towards him.

He immediately created some distance and retreated, pulling away from Jiang Baihe, before turning to look at this enemy who had joined the battle.

Through the swirling smoke and mist, Jiang Baishen slowly straightened his posture, the pressure radiating from his body utterly terrifying, pressing down on Lu Fan like a vast sky.

Lu Fan’s brow furrowed slightly. He naturally recognised that the person before him was the strongest person in the Sacred Jiang Family, the Sacred Master of the Sacred Jiang Family, Jiang Baishen!

After arriving here, Jiang Baishen made no attempt at restraint whatsoever and directly unleashed the Slaughter Hearts within his body.

Jiang Baishen also possessed two Slaughter Hearts, though the energy contained within them was far, far greater than what resided within Jiang Baihe!

Jiang Baishen’s Profession was almost identical to Jiang Baihe’s. The moment he arrived, golden light was released, wrapping his body and simultaneously enormously elevating his own Attributes.

Though the Skill was the same, the golden light surging outwards from Jiang Baishen was visibly and considerably more terrifying than Jiang Baihe’s.

“Older Brother, isn’t it too soon for you to come out?” Jiang Baihe, though delighted that his Older Brother had arrived, was simultaneously astonished that he had not, as planned, remained to guard the upper Sacred Island.

The upper Sacred Island was the true stronghold of their Sacred Jiang Family, where all of the Sacred Land’s resources were stored, and where countless Arrays and other defensive measures lay in wait.

According to the plan, Jiang Baishen ought to have been holding the upper Sacred Island, using those Arrays to further contend with Lu Fan and the others, to see whether or not these invaders could be wiped out.

And yet now, Jiang Baishen had already charged down, which surely meant the upper Sacred Island was left with no one to hold it, with not even the protective Arrays being activated.

What Jiang Baihe did not know was that today was already a situation of certain death for them. To Jiang Baishen, everything on that upper Sacred Island no longer mattered.

The two Brothers fighting together and dying together was not, in the end, such a bad choice.

Jiang Baishen said nothing of his original reasoning and simply laughed, “If it is possible, I do not wish for them to set foot within our Sacred Jiang Family and damage our stronghold.”
